The Portuguese Republic after World war I: the Azores, centrality and communications in the North Atlantic

Initially supported by the popular masses, the Portuguese First Republic was marked by social, political and economic instability, and a weak participation in World War I. The period from 1910 to 1926 was characterized by a partisan struggle for power, political and social agitation. Improvements since 1923 were not enough to counteract the growing discontent stimulated by intellectuals; a persecuted Church; an army and civil service without resources and an economically oppressed industry. The coup of May 28, 1926, put an end to this democratic regime starting a new cycle that, despite maintaining the previous political instability, prepared the Estado Novo, under the control of Antonio de Oliveira Salazar, interrupted in April 25, 1974.

It has an open access policy and publishes original research on Social Sciences and reflections on the development of Sociology. In addition, Sociologia on line uses double-blind peer review, which means that the identities of the authors are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa. Humanos e não humanos na resistência aos grandes projetos desenvolvimentistas

Este dossiê pretende reunir pesquisas multidisciplinares que reflitam as transformações teórico-epistemológicas dos conceitos natureza e cultura e seus desdobramentos, quando colocados frente alargamento do “objeto” antropológico para além do humano, com foco nas relações entre humanos e distintas categorias de não humanos. O objetivo é fomentar debates em torno de etnografias e análises povoadas de seres não humanos – animais, plantas, microorganismos, máquinas, artefatos, seres sobrenaturais, fenômenos metereológicos – por meio dos modos de relação trans-específicas, seja partindo de práticas específicas de manejo e modos de existência ditas tradicionais – como povos indígenas, ribeirinhos, quilombolas e agricultores familiares – seja através de contrastes desses saberes com os conhecimentos que se expressam em projetos de desenvolvimento econômico, seus cálculos de impacto socioambiental e suas propostas de mitigação. Interessa especialmente ao dossiê pesquisas que problematizem usos diversos de conceitos como ambiente, território, roça, floresta, territorialidade, sustentabilidade ambiental, impacto ambiental, devastação, práticas de manejo, recursos hídricos e florestais, fauna e flora, fenômenos meteorológicos, entre outros.

E isso de um modo assumidamente intermedial e interdisciplinar. Razão pela qual serão consideradas como prioritárias as comunicações capazes de focarem as figuras do pós-humano em dois (ou três) dos media em jogo – literatura, cinema, banda desenhada –, privilegiando as conexões entre eles.

La multiplication de cours de pós-graduação (Master, Doctorat et Post-doctorat) dans le champ de l’art au Brésil ces dernières dix années interroge davantage l’interaction entre théories et pratiques dans le contexte académique. La présence de disciplines dans lesquelles s’inscrivent une pratique artistique – arts visuels, musique, danse, théâtre, cinéma, littérature, entre autres – interpelle le binarisme entre art et science et propose des nouvelles formes de perceptions de l’objet d’étude, ainsi que des nouveaux critères d’argumentation et d’évaluation de recherche académique. Comment une pratique artistique peut devenir un objet de recherche académique ? Comment gérer la particularité de ces recherches e de ses résultats ? Quelles sont les stratégies utilisées pour outrepasser les binarismes imposés par les modèles scientifiques tout en emphatisant le pouvoir réflexif de l’art et l’imminente nécessité de créativité pour la formulation théorique ?

How have the current modes of management and their evaluation and training systems contributed to the construction or weakening of cooperative acts at work? What are the requirements to build cooperation?

7th Congress of the Portuguese Anthropological Association (APA)

The 7^th Portuguese Anthropological Association congress aims to discuss the condition of being human and being in the world today. 2019, a year of a possible calendar among many other available. Without identifying themes, reference words, categories or classifications, 2019 marks a stage in the social and natural history of the planet. The openness suggested in an “untitled” congress also points to an anthropology without conceptual, thematic or epistemological boundaries. It is life in itself that interests anthropology, anthropologies, thinking the gerund of human existence, others and the rest from multiple interpretive possibilities. After all, anthropology is practiced on everything and everyone in a project of knowledge that remains inexhaustible in terms of what exists and is to come.

30 anos de construção da cena brasileira moderna (1948-1978)

Revista Sala Preta número 18 – Volume 2/2018

Gostaríamos de destacar neste número estudos sobre os processos artísticos que se empenharam na construção de uma moderna cena no Brasil com interesse na pesquisa de formas novas de representação da sociedade brasileira. Ainda que a recorte temporal proposto faça menção a dois momentos do teatro em São Paulo, a criação do Teatro Brasileiro de Comédia (TBC), em 1948, e a estreia do espetáculo Macunaíma, em 1978, espera-se poder contar com diversos focos analíticos do tema e perspectivas que atendam à diversidade da ideia de nacional, com exame das experiências de modernização nos estados e desenvolvimentos regionais. Os estudos propostos devem ter como questão o trabalho de encenação em seu sentido conceitual, crítico e prático, o que inclui o conjunto dos elementos de produção do espetáculo, métodos de ensaio, organização do trabalho, relação com atuação, cenografia, iluminação, escrita cênica em tensão com a dramatúrgica etc.

Two years later, we travel South. In Évora, 2018, we intend to maintain the theme and broaden the debate on mobility in the contemporary world, looking particularly at its pathways, directions and policies. We now have a significant theoretical-conceptual knowledge about mobility, its senses, scales and experiences. This knowledge is shaped by the great questions that inspire contemporary social theorization around the uses, appropriations and representations of time and space. Vivemos um tempo duro e de incertezas. Porém, o texto de Galeano nos provoca a pensar que é um tempo que se abre para novas expectativas para se pensar a educação, para continuar a produzir outros modos de olhar e escutar, de compreender e interpretar em outras direções e é tempo de novas (re)construções. Para escapar ou amenizar as incertezas desse tempo é preciso produzir conhecimento crítico que indague o cotidiano e provoque reflexões e participações ativas. No sentido de Galeano e Freire, é preciso refletir, compreender e fazer para mudar o que somos e para transformarmos o mundo.
