In France, as abroad, questions of democracy span multiple social fields. The University appears as a privileged place for observation and reflection. As a space for academic and civic education, for the transmission of knowledge and collective experimentation, it also constitutes a laboratory for democratic practices.

"Échos" section of the "Trajectoires" journal (no. 20, 2027)
Trajectoires est la revue de la jeune recherche franco-allemande. Elle s’est donné pour mission de participer à l’émergence et à la formation d’une génération d’auteur·e·s ouverte à l’interdisciplinarité et décidée à nourrir dans sa diversité le dialogue entre les espaces francophones et germanophones. La nouvelle rubrique « Échos » de la revue Trajectoires offre aux doctorant·e·s et jeunes docteur·e·s la possibilité de publier, sous forme de dossier thématique, les résultats d’une manifestation scientifique organisée dans le cadre de leurs activités de recherche.

S’émanciper collectivement par les droits subjectifs ?
Ce colloque vise à interroger la capacité des droits subjectifs, fondements du droit moderne et outils d'émancipation, à répondre aux enjeux contemporains. Bien qu'ils protègent les individus et leurs libertés, ils sont critiqués pour leur contribution à des logiques de privatisation des espaces sociaux. L’objectif de ce colloque est alors de déterminer si les droits subjectifs peuvent encore soutenir des formes d’émancipation collective ou individuelle, ou s’ils doivent être repensés afin de pouvoir faire face aux défis sociaux, démocratiques et écologiques. À partir d'un cadre pluridisciplinaire et franco-allemand, les propositions pourront porter sur les modalités de mobilisation des droits subjectifs dans les luttes sociales, ainsi que sur les critiques qui appellent à dépasser ou transformer leur forme classique afin d’imaginer de nouvelles formes de droits.

What are the dynamics and vulnerabilities?
In L’économie du XXe siècle (The Economy of the 20th Century), François Perroux stated that “we do not have a comprehensive, coherent and usable theory of what I propose to call the ’domination effect’” Why talk about relations of domination when we are dealing with the circulation of knowledge, imaginaries, and skills in relation to linguistic diversity? When there is circulation, movement, transfer, there are differences in level, which means that knowledge, imaginations and skills do not emerge everywhere at the same time and in the same way, giving rise to differences, imbalances and potential conflicts.

Describing Creole Languages in the 19th Century: Ideology, Sociology, and Intertextuality
How do beliefs about Creole languages influence the their descriptions by 19th-century creolists? This issue of Archipélies seeks to answer this question, focusing on the beliefs, representations, and, more broadly, ideologies that permeate descriptions of Creole languages from the documentation of Haitian Creole by Ducœurjoly in 1802 to the naturalistic portrayal of Creoles around the turn of the century1. Far from being reduced to simple nomenclatures, descriptions of Creole languages reproduce an ideological background that must be examined in order to better understand the gradual development of a linguistic discourse on the genesis and structures of Creole languages. As linguistic practices born out of colonial situations, forced contact, and historical ruptures, Creoles and their descriptions crystallize the ideological and conceptual divisions of coloniality, threatening its coherence and uniformity.

Les mères (post-)migrantes – représentations esthétiques dans les pays germanophones et francophones
Le colloque se concentrera sur l’exploration transdisciplinaire des représentations des mères issues de l’immigration dans des textes littéraires, des films et des romans graphiques de langue allemande et française produits au cours des trois dernières décennies. Seront prises en compte à la fois les perspectives externes et internes, c’est-à-dire aussi bien des œuvres d’auteur·e·s ayant eux-mêmes une expérience migratoire que celles d’auteur·e·s n’ayant pas un tel vécu.

The overarching theme for the 10th ITRA World Conference is The Zeitgeist in Toys & Games is designed to decipher and understand the many ways toys and games have shaped and reflected who we are, and have changed throughout history. Looking at the past, present, and future of playthings, the question is not so much what the zeitgeist in toys and games should be – but rather how and what they contribute to the multiple and potentially conflicting constellations of ideas, values and norms that come to characterize particular epochs.

Réunissant des chercheurs internationaux de divers horizons disciplinaires, le colloque vise à examiner l’Europe et l’histoire européenne à partir de perspectives marginalisées, périphériques et subalternes. Plus précisément, il s’interroge sur les concepts, les histoires et les récits autour du thème de l’« Europe » issus de groupes qui n’ont pas accès au pouvoir (politique, économique et social) ou qui subissent une marginalisation sociale ou culturelle en raison, par exemple, de leur nationalité, de leur ethnie, de leur classe, de leur sexe, de leur religion, de leur âge ou de leur sexualité.

Economies of Renewal and Transformation
The "celebration" or post-crisis period is not merely a moment of festivity but an opportunity for tension release, reinvention, collective creativity, and the creation of new identities and relationships. This symposium proposes to examine how, from an economic and organizational perspective, societies reshape, rebuild, and find new avenues for transformation after times of crisis, both systemically and discursively.

The word crisis, derived from the Greek word krisis, means judgment, decision. Conceptually speaking, “a crisis is an illness” (a conceptual metaphor justified diachronically by its etymological meaning of “the decisive phase of an illness”), or “it is a war”, if we focus on the meaning of “an outbreak with violent manifestations”. It is, therefore, a moment of major change. Our societies are plagued by successive and often overlapping crises, enabling them - if not forcing them - to evolve and transform themselves. The conference will focus on two parallel and complementary themes: “The economic crisis / The economy of the crisis” and “Discourse in a time of crisis”.

Call for papers - Representation
In recent years, the fictional character of Sissi has been reimagined from a feminist perspective. This new appreciation of the character of Sissi owes much to gender studies. It also derives from the interpolation of narratives and fictions about other (modern) princesses such as Lady Diana. Fairy tales are now being put into perspective, and the same goes for historical princesses when represented in fiction. Following this “Sissi turn”, the book will adopt a deliberately transversal and interdisciplinary perspective.

Articuler les traditions politico-intellectuelles de l’écoféminisme français et allemand dans une perspective globale
In light of the ecological crisis ecofeminist thought that first emerged as political-ethical and theoretical field during the late 1970s and 1980s has flourished in French and German debates during the last decade. The aim of the conference is to examine the ways in which ecofeminist theory is currently discussed in France and Germany, and how – in both national contexts – the respective traditions of ecofeminist thought and politics are re-articulated, criticized and transformed. Thereby the question how post- and neo-colonial power relations that shape the current ecological situation are addressed in ecofeminist thought will be of central importance. The conference seeks to re-evaluate traditions of ecofeminist thought in French and German speaking contexts, their uneven circulation and their present-day re-articulations.

Dans ce numéro spécial de la Revue de géographie Alpine, nous soutenons l’hypothèse que vieillir en montagne est une expérience qui permet de lire les transformations sociales des régions de montagne, non seulement en ce qu’elles touchent les personnes âgées, mais aussi les plus jeunes, dans ces territoires et au-delà. De plus, dans la ligne de nombreux travaux qui s’attachent à investiguer l’expérience des personnes dans un contexte sociologique spécifique, nous considérons le récit comme une ressource essentielle pour explorer la vie des personnes qui vieillissent en montagne, à partir de leur propre point de vue et de leur propre histoire.

A review of historical discourses, planning decisions and conservation strategies
This interdisciplinary conference, realised by the Vienna University of Technology in cooperation with the University of Bamberg (KDWT), and the research network UrbanMetaMapping asks: Which phenomena in society, planning and heritage conservation accompanied historical transformation processes of cities and, above all, (how) did they interact? What insights can be drawn from the observation of historical processes and what can be derived from them for current developments? The focus of interest lies on historical processes of evaluation, selection, and planning in the historic building stock and the discourses of different players - individuals, institutions, or organisations - that accompanied these processes. Also to be examined are the effects of planning and conservation decisions not only on the built but also on the social structure of cities.

In Western space, mapping the Other is not a prescriptive notion to assign ossified identities. Rather, it is about questioning the link between these intersectional identities of otherness and the specificities of the various Western spaces. In other words, it invites a reconsideration of how the Others autonomously define themselves in the dominant and marginal spaces of the “normative order” of hegemonic societies, and how they integrate them to make them theirs—therefore challenging the systems of oppression implemented.

Politiques de la traduction : appropriation, critique, hospitalité
Qui peut et doit décider si un texte doit être traduit, par qui, et dans quelle(s) langue(s) ? L’éditeur·e ? L’auteur·e ? Quels facteurs doivent jouer un rôle dans ces décisions : l’identité de l’auteur·e, son appartenance à un ou plusieurs groupes particuliers ? L’histoire d’une langue nationale est-elle pertinente ? Que penser, par exemple, du refus de l’auteure irlandaise Sally Rooney de collaborer avec des maisons d’édition israéliennes pour des raisons politiques, en empêchant ainsi de facto la traduction de ses œuvres ? Et, de manière générale, quels sont les rapports de force à l'œuvre dans l’acte de traduire ? C’est autour de cette question générale que s’articulera ce colloque, en évaluant les principaux modèles théoriques proposés pour penser la dimension politique de la traduction, à partir de pratiques concrètes, et dans une perspective interdisciplinaire.

Cette journée d’étude doctorale souhaite encourager les échanges et débats internationaux et interdisciplinaires autour d’un sujet interculturel. Les contributions en langue française et allemande qui analysent les différentes manifestations du phénomène de « frontière(s) » en fonction de leur champ disciplinaire respectif (linguistique et sciences du langage, études littéraires, historiques et culturelles) seront naturellement les bienvenues.
