Les changements des habitus culinaires au Cameroun
Culinary habits in Cameroon are now deeply influenced by globalization and urbanization, leading to a revision and sometimes a distortion of traditional recipes. The introduction of foreign products and the adoption of faster food practices have changed the habits of Cameroonians. These changes affect the transmission of culinary heritage to younger generations and jeopardize the preservation of traditional cuisine, considered a valuable intangible heritage. This call for papers explores the impact of globalization on food practices, public health, and the local economy. It also raises the question of how Cameroonian cuisine can adapt to modern realities, taking into account the tension between the modernization of recipes and the preservation of culinary cultural identity.

Conference, symposium - Representation

Tensions, Dynamics, and Reconfigurations
This conference explores the multiple dimensions of desire in contemporary art worlds, examining its forms, tensions, and implications. It aims to rethink the role of desire as a driving force of creation, the artist’s condition in the face of inequalities and violence, the place of desire in artistic work, the norms that shape desired or excluded bodies, and the practices that seek to frame or regulate these dynamics. By engaging with these perspectives, the conference invites participants to reflect on the relevance of desire as an interpretative key and to envision new representations for art and its actors.

Propaganda and Influence: New Historiographical Perspectives
Post-truth, fake news, infodemic, virality, soft power, hybrid warfare, political technology, influencer... New expressions intermingle with old ones – suggestion, propaganda, disinformation, manipulation, censorship – to describe the alarming evolution of various manipulative practices. These new terms and warnings often obscure the continuity of the older practices and their shared origins. By adopting an integrative and multidisciplinary approach, this conference seeks to unite researchers studying the practices of influence across different times and places, with a shared commitment to historicizing these phenomena.

IASPM 23rd international conference
This event will be the 23rd edition of the International Association for the Study of Popular Music's biennal conference. Recording played a central role in the establishment of the field of popular music research. The analysis of recordings as 'texts' of popular music has naturally been one of the main areas of research over the last forty years. Beyond recording as a process involving studios or various pieces of technical equipment, our conference is also an invitation to look at the recording of popular music in global and cultural terms. Recording means keeping traces or tracks, a practice which can also be understood in a broader, anthropological sense: how are the traces kept or preserved? How are they also sometimes erased? How is socio-cultural diversity “recorded” or not in popular music?

The aim of this Franco-German study day is to bring together different international research traditions. The aim is to compare research angles, concepts, frameworks and methods relating to life-course transitions. The widespread approach to the concept of 'bifurcation' in French-language research offers many possibilities for convergence with the 'Doing transitions' approach developed in recent years by the 'Doing transitions Graduiertenkolleg' research group. This comparative exercise will be considered not only between two countries, but also between two concepts that become fertile methodological tools for the emergence of new lines of thought, allowing both possible exchanges between the two traditions to generate a common field, but also the contribution of new epistemological avenues to fuel the debate on each side of the Rhine.

The Roving Comic Book: Exchanges, Transfers, Circulation
« Mémoires du livre / “Studies in Book Culture” » - volume 14, Number 1, Fall 2022
After their emergence in the nineteenth century, comic books quickly became an important vehicle for transnational exchanges. This issue of Mémoires du livre / Studies in Book Culture proposes a multi-disciplinary study of the cross-cultural transfer and circulation of comics. The notion of “transfer” is understood here in a broad sense, as a process in which objects, ideas and practices are transferred across two or several cultures.

Call for papers - Representation
This scientific event aims to debate, through very diverse sources (political speeches, newspaper articles, shared videos of irregular migrants, cultural productions, legal texts, interviews, comments on social networks, novels, cartoons and images of documentary value), current migrations and experiences of otherness. The subject is still topical, in particular with the French new resolution to tighten granting Schengen visas to Algerians, Tunisians and Moroccans, a decision which aroused strong reactions on both sides of the Mediterranean.

Conference, symposium - Sociology
Fourth conference of theme networks 14 and 11 of the French Sociology Association
