  Si l’histoire des relations internationales a d’emblée placé la guerre et de la paix au cœur de ses analyses, le déséquilibre demeure flagrant entre les études consacrées aux conflits armés, et celles plus discrètes relatives aux processus de paix. Une place particulière sera donc réservée aux acteurs et modalités des négociations ; à la mémoire de ces négociations, de leurs succès comme de leurs échecs, au rôle des organisations internationales ou régionales dans les sorties de guerre, aux conceptions proprement asiatiques de la paix, de la sécurité et du pacifisme, dont la dimension asiatique n’est guère abordée en dehors du Japon.

  Cet appel à contribution se propose d’interroger les usages et significations des idées de « progrès » et d’« innovation » - qu’elles soient en rapport avec la technologie, l’économie, la politique, la religion ou la culture - au cours du long XVIII^e siècle et leurs impacts sur les pratiques sociales. Il s’attachera à mesurer les effets de l’innovation sous toutes ses formes (technique, politique, économique, artistique, littéraire, etc.) sur les sociabilités dans les sociétés européennes et coloniales. Il sera également intéressant d’envisager la sociabilité elle-même comme une innovation conceptuelle et sociale.

  Social, political and environmental dynamics in the Global South

  Economies built around waste – rubbish, unsold goods, surplus, scrap, used materials – are becoming increasingly important in the Global South. This issue therefore aims to examine these forms of economic activity from three main perspectives: environmental, socio-economic and political. The objective is to bring together empirical and theoretical work that documents, compares and problematises these waste economies based on surveys conducted in Southern countries, while taking into account the circulation and cross-influences with Northern countries. These ‘waste products’ can take various forms, which the issue intends to consider in an open and pluralistic perspective.

  Ce 15^e colloque de l’Institut européen d’histoire et des cultures de l’alimentation (IEHCA) sera l’occasion d’échanges entre ces deux champs d’études, toutes disciplines confondues, que constituent les food studies et les comics studies. Il se veut une invitation à mieux apprécier l’importance et les conditions de mobilisation du neuvième art dans les travaux consacrés aux food studies mais aussi à confronter les travaux que les comics studies consacrent à ces thèmes aux interrogations et préoccupations propres aux recherches sur les cultures alimentaires. Poursuivant la tradition de large ouverture disciplinaire et d’intérêt pour l’ensemble des aires culturelles et périodes historiques que porte l’IEHCA les communications porteront sur des terrains et des approches les plus divers.
