Subjectivités et liens communautaires dans les sociétés et les créations centraméricaines et caribéennes

Alors que géologues, stratigraphes, chimistes et climatologues débattent encore aujourd’hui de la pertinence scientifique du concept d’anthropocène, et tandis que l’action communautaire et la littérature imaginent et testent déjà des mondes possibles pour vivre en harmonie avec la planète et les êtres vivants avec qui nous la partageons, la menace d’un désastre imminent semble être plus présente que jamais parmi le grand public. La fin du monde serait-elle pour demain ? Ce colloque propose de réfléchir à la façon dont les désastres (catastrophes naturelles, pandémies, guerres civiles, dictatures, etc.) affectent la construction des subjectivités individuelles et les liens communautaires.

La Toison d’or, trophée pour des héros ambigus de l’Antiquité au Moyen Âge

Si la quête argonautique et son dénouement tragique sont bien étudiés dans leur versant gréco-latin, leur devenir au Moyen Âge fait l’objet d’analyses moins nombreuses. Dans l’ensemble du corpus, l’imaginaire de la Toison d’or et les récits encadrant la quête argonautique restent aussi moins explorés. Phrixos, voué au sacrifice par son père Athamas, échappe à la mort grâce au bélier à la Toison d’or : l’animal mène le jeune homme en Colchide et prend symboliquement sa place sur l’autel. La Toison, dépouille sacrificielle, lui garantit pouvoir et fécondité. Une génération plus tard, Jason, parent de Phrixos, revendique ce trophée pour établir à son tour son royaume et sa lignée. Son mariage avec Médée assure temporairement sa victoire, mais la déloyauté du héros lui en ôte les fruits. Cette rencontre invite à replacer les deux héros dans leurs traditions parallèles et dans leur lien à ce trophée ambigu.

"Chiasmi International" journal n°27

This dossier will explore the various fields of Merleau-Ponty's thought in which his notions of event, rupture and duration are at work or can become fertile and operative. This means exploring not only Merleau-Ponty's work, but also the thought of other authors in the phenomenological tradition or the structuralist and post-structuralist currents. Finally, it means looking at contemporary philosophy and theoretical thinking, to understand how various traditions of thought in the humanities and social sciences are responding today to the challenges posed by events (from the events of 11 September 2001 to pandemics and global ecological issues) and how they thematise notions of duration and rupture in public and private life.

Philosophy and the National Question

Taking as its starting point the idea of “philosophical nationalism” proposed by Jacques Derrida, this seminar aims to question the way in which different national and nationalist discourses have accompanied both the construction of modern philosophical historiography and the development of comparative or intercultural philosophy. The division of the world into “philosophical nations” still constitutes today the starting point of any comparative effort and leads to making the “dialogue between traditions” a discourse tending to legitimize national ideologies.

Étant donné la riche ampleur sémantique et conceptuelle de la notion de liberté, ce numéro de la revue Romanica Silesiana propose examiner le thème de la liberté dans plusieurs perspectives. La liberté peut concerner le processus de création pendant lequel l’écrivain se confronte aux différentes contraintes. C’est également le lecteur qui a une relation particulière avec la liberté car il peut participer activement à la construction de l’œuvre, tant au niveau formel qu’interprétatif. Aussi la liberté en tant que conception artistique prend-elle différentes formes de représentation dans l’œuvre littéraire, basant principalement sur la dynamique entre l’enfermement et la libération, l’opprimé et le révolté.

Le regain d’intérêt pour la littérature de voyage en tant que genre littéraire et témoignage culturel a mis en lumière la richesse des récits écrits par les femmes sur l’Espagne. Ces narrations ne se contentent pas de documenter des expériences personnelles : elles façonnent également des représentations culturelles, des imaginaires sociaux et des visions historiques qui enrichissent les études hispanistes depuis des perspectives francophones et anglophones. L'objectif de ce colloque est de réunir des spécialistes de diverses disciplines afin d’explorer, d’analyser et de débattre des récits de voyage féminins sur l’Espagne. À travers une approche interdisciplinaire, nous proposons d’aborder des questions de genre, d’interculturalité, de représentations culturelles et de circulation de ces œuvres.

The aim is to foster a robust dialogue on whether autonomy (and in which form? which constitutional status?) is the appropriate framework for empowering cities or if alternative approaches, such as empowerment through subsidiarity, are better suited to achieving justice and effective governance.

Where and When

Thinking of Time and Space in East Asia (16th – 20th centuries)

In a past European research project, many of the speakers at this workshop gathered to explore how different actors in 16^th-20^th century East Asia conceptualized historical time. We mostly focused on representations of history and periodicity, particularly how different actors used topoi from the “European” historical past to shape their own perceptions of “East Asian” history. While discussing these questions, we realized that we could not think of time without thinking of space. What were the representations and uses of space underlying different intellectual activities and social practices, and to what extent did those representations shape the actor’s relation to history and time?

Le collectif propose de questionner les enjeux de seuils entre disciplines à travers un cycle de quatre séminaires. La notion de seuil prend ici la forme d’expérimentations entre disciplines, au sens d’une indisciplinarité qui explore l’hybridité, les croisements, les entre-deux. Comment une discipline autre que la sienne permet-elle de réinvestir sa pratique et sa recherche ? Être « sur le seuil » devient une méthode de recherche et de création qui, dans une période de crise sociale, économique et politique, nous permet de penser dans l’altérité. La plus-value de ce cycle de séminaires tient dans son hybridation transdisciplinaire entre recherche et création, mêlant conférences et ateliers artistiques avec des intervenant·es chercheur·es/artistes.
