  Evolving regional values and mobilities in global contexts

  The construction of ‘the New Asia’ and dialogues with Europe (7th Europe-Asie Conference)

  This 7th Europe-Asie conference (the first 6 were held in France, Korea, France, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan) looks at the cultural constructions for regions. It brings together scholars from both regions and analyses these constructions from a multidisciplinary perspective. Jointly organised by Warsaw University in Poland, Le Havre University in France, The KazNU university in Kazakhstan and the CEFIR research center in Belgium, this conference will bring together about 30 participants from a dozen countries of Eurasia and unfold over two days. Potential presenters are encouraged to submit papers based on ongoing research in Regional studies in Asia and Europe, focusing on the politics of identity of modern post-war regions.

  La transmission interculturelle des traditions intellectuelles au Moyen Âge et à la Renaissance : étude comparative

  An international team consisting of ten young researchers seeks five new collaborators to for a project entitled « Intercultural transmission of intellectual traditions in the Middle Ages and the early modern period: a comparative study ». The participants are expected to take part in two working symposia in Poland as well as to write a scholarly article in English dealing with a chosen case of intercultural transmission to be published in the collection of texts that is going to be the main result of the project. The participants will receive remuneration in the amount of 3500 PLN (approx. 1000 USD) together with reimbursement of their travel and accommodation during the symposia. PhD students in all disciplines of humanities are invited to submit their applications by 10 February 2012.
