  Transnational Biographies. Destinies at the Crossroads throughout the 20th Century

  This call for papers seeks methodological and case-study perspectives on 20^th century biographies, interpreted within a framework of cross-national/transnational connections, surpassing the nation-centered apprehension of history. The contributions should acknowledge and interpret destinies and existences as subjected to transnational spaces and structures, while considering actors as non-state (or multi-state) entities. Moreover, we seek contributions that surpass the “center-periphery” paradigm, focusing on a “horizontal” approach, while also reversing the spotlight from diplomatic and political history towards the social and cultural dimension of it. Editors welcome contributions from different fields of research: history, political science, cultural studies, philosophy, sociology, gender studies or any other related areas of interest.

  Intercultural exchange in the age of globalization, second edition

  In the context of today’s social, political and economic changes, power is one of the governing principles of culture. Power comes in many shapes and sizes and it manifests itself under various forms: it can be tyrannical or a combination of forces (Foucault); it can be charismatic, traditional and rational (Weber) or the opposite – manipulative; it can also appear as a system of diluted forces that spring from the “social field” (Bourdieu); it can remain in the unconscious or it can manifest itself in the speech act. However it may appear, it has become clear that power shapes the course of the creation, interpretation and analysis of literary texts and other cultural products.

  Politique et religion au défi de la communication numérique

  XXIIe Colloque bilatéral Franco-Roumain en sciences de l’information et de la communication

  L’intérêt manifesté des Sciences de l’Information et de la Communication pour l’impact actuel des nouvelles technologies numériques dans les domaines individuel et social recouvre un certain nombre de problématiques majeures dont celles concernant le politique et le religieux qui revoient à des bouleversements surprenants non seulement en plan symbolique et fonctionnel, mais aussi en termes de structuration et action sociales. Cette XXII^e édition du colloque international franco-roumain vise à mettre en exergue les mutations induites par les nouvelles formes numériques de communication politique et religieuse comme paradigme de sens de l’actualité médiatisée et de la médiatisation de l’information.
