Historiography of the Perception of Islam through Manuscripts, Korans and their Displacement
The aim of this workshop is to approach the question of the relationship between Christianity and Islam through the study of the production, circulation and uses of Arabic manuscripts, and mainly Korans, in the late medieval and early modern Mediterranean Europe. Our assumption is that the Balkans, Italy and the Iberian Peninsula form an axis of circulation which is especially significant for our understanding of the Mediterranean Sea as a comprehensive space of cultural, political and religious contact.

International migrations and labour from the 70s to the present
Since the 70s the presence of migrants in Europe, and especially in Italy, has become a structural issue and has been at the center of the public and political debate. The progressive demolition of welfare systems, the job precariousness, and new consumer lifestyles have generated different responses in terms of regulation of the admissions of foreign citizens in search of a job and their management (housing issues, access to health care, etc.). Both with regard to organization of forms of protection of immigrants in the exercise of theirs fundamental rights, especially in cases of serious discrimination and exploitation (immigrant associations, trade union action, etc.).

IV seminar of doctoral studies history and economy in the Mediterranean countries
The objective of the seminar will be to understand the importance of intense credit activities at all levels of society, both in urban and rural areas over the long term, from consumer microcredit to the specific problem of the foundation of the Monti di Pietà in the various regional typologies, and to the forms of solidarity credit that, over the centuries, gave rise to more modern forms of banks.

Danse, musique et opéra dans l’Europe des Lumières
Centré in primis sur l’œuvre de Gennaro Magri (ca. 1735-1780), maître de ballet au Théâtre San Carlo de Naples et auteur du Trattato teorico-prattico del Ballo (1779), ce colloque a pour objectif de se pencher sur la vie et la carrière de Magri en Italie et en Europe, et plus largement de réfléchir sur le rôle de la danse à Naples dans le contexte européen. Dans une perspective théorico-pratique, ce colloque sera le lieu d’un questionnement sur l’histoire, la technique, l’esthétique et la poétique de la danse théâtrale notamment dans ses rapports aux autres arts : il s’agira de réfléchir sur les enjeux culturels et sociaux liés à la relation entre danse noble et danse comique, entre style italien et style français, dans le dialogue interculturel entre les nations.

Travel and Sojourn in the Early Nineteenth Century
Beyond Naples, toward Amalfi and Sorrento
During the first half of the nineteenth century traveling and sojourning in Europe reflected a cultural climate marked by both resistance and enthusiasm. The conference is intended as well to cast light on the evolving changes in travel and sojourn in Naples and localities along the gulf during the first half of the nineteenth century, not failing to draw comparisons with other areas of Mediterranean Europe.

L'Italie « à parts égales » : écrire l'histoire de l'Italie avant la conquête romaine
L’École française de Rome, en collaboration avec le centre Jean Bérard de Naples, propose 10 bourses à destination de jeunes chercheurs (M2, doctorants ou jeunes docteurs) pour participer à un atelier de formation doctorale d’une durée de cinq jours dans le cadre du programme de recherche de l’École française de Rome : « Italia picta : territoires italiens et pratiques romaines (Ve-IIIe siècle) ». L’atelier est principalement articulé autour de la question suivante : comment écrire l’histoire de l’Italie préromaine, au regard des difficultés méthodologiques et épistémologiques spécifiques à cette période et du contexte historique et politique particulier polarisé par la conquête romaine ? Le but, largement didactique, est celui d’un retour critique sur les connaissances, les outils et les moyens mobilisables pour étudier l’histoire de l’Italie préromaine.

Il Mezzogiorno nell’ Italia napoleonica: riflessioni su un Bicentenario
Le « Comitato Nazionale per le celebrazioni del Bicentenario del Decennio francese 1806-2006 » (http://www.comitatinazionali.librari.beniculturali.it/moduli/comitati/comitato.jsp?Comitato=133) va terminer ses travaux avec un colloque qui va reflechir sur les activités des années 2006-2009 et introduit des questions historiographiques sur l'Italie napoléonienne. -

Les deux Europe. Troisième colloque international de RICHIE
Le troisième colloque international de RICHIE (Réseau International des jeunes Chercheurs en Histoire de l'Integration Européenne) aura lieu en décembre 2007 à Naples et portera sur les deux Europe. Nous souhaitons analyser l'histoire de l'Europe des deux derniers siècles sous l'angle des nombreuses dichotomies (économiques, politiques, réligieuses et idéologiques). Ce CfP s'adresse notamment aux jeunes Chercheurs (doctorants ou post-doc).
