Das Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin e.V. – Institute for Advanced Study ist eine unabhängige, von den großen deutschen Wissenschaftsorganisationen und den Berliner Universitäten mitgetragene Institution. Finanziert wird das Wissenschaftskolleg zu gleichen Teilen durch das Land Berlin und den Bund. Seit 1981 werden jährlich ca. 40 international renommierte Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler unterschiedlicher Nationalitäten und Disziplinen als Fellows eingeladen, sich auf ein selbstgewähltes Arbeitsvorhaben zu konzentrieren. Wir suchen zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt einen Forschungsassistenten (m/w/d) (Teilzeit mit 19,5 Wochenstunden) im Rahmen des Netzwerkprojektes Working Futures.

The grants of the Study Foundation of the Berlin House of Representatives

The grants of the Study Foundation of the Berlin House of Representatives shall be awarded to young university graduates and students with at least a Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent) in all fields, in particular the humanities and social sciences, whose research or study projects deal with Berlin or require access to Berlin research facilities. The funds shall be used to advance academic education at all state and state-recognized universities and academic research institutions in Berlin.

Solidarity at Work

The term “solidarity” seems to have fallen out of theoretical fashion despite the fact that it has a long history of describing the shared struggles of those oppressed by economic or political power structures. This conference aims to explore the past, present and future of “solidarity at work” on both the conceptual and empirical level. Its focus is on the world of work, which it wants to investigate from a transnational perspective. How have the concepts, conceptions and categories of solidarity shaped labor and the labor movements of different countries? What about the divergent conceptual meanings and practices in these assorted contexts? How have power relations as well as people’s everyday life been changed by the various practices related to solidarity? How do technological and managerial changes help to shift ideas and practices of solidarity? Do we see new forms emerging? Who are the agents of “solidarity at work” and what are the concrete mechanisms involved? More broadly, what are the levers and brakes of solidarity in the workplace today?

The spring school Visual History in the Twentieth Century: Bodies, Practices, and Emotions invites participants to engage in five days of intensive discussion on the relation between the history of the body, body politics, and film and television in the twentieth century. Bourses de courte durée du Centre Marc Bloch

Le Centre Marc Bloch attribuera cette année des bourses afin de soutenir la rédaction de thèse ou d’un projet de recherche en sciences humaines et sociales. Ces bourses soutiendront des projets des chercheurs en priorité non-résidents à Berlin, contribuant aux différents champs de recherche présents au Centre et qui travailleront en coopération étroite avec les groupes de travail correspondants. Elles peuvent financer des séjours de recherche en archives ou de recherche sur le terrain mais aussi des séjours de rédaction, d’organisation d’une manifestation ou de mise en œuvre de projets de projet de recherche au sein d´un groupe de travail du CMB.

Les immigrés et leurs descendants au sein des institutions françaises et allemandes

Migranten und ihre Nachkommen innerhalb der deutschen und französischen Institutionen

Compte tenu de la persistance d’inégalités sociales et ethniques dans les sociétés allemande et française, la question de la place et de la participation des immigrés et de leurs descendants au sein de ces sociétés constitue un « objet sociologique » d’une importance toute particulière. Dans ces deux pays, la question de l’ « intégration » des immigrés et de leurs descendants à la société nationale a été construite comme une préoccupation sociétale sur laquelle non seulement les populations immigrées sont susceptibles d’agir, mais également les acteurs publics et les institutions. En France comme en Allemagne, un grand nombre de travaux s’intéressent à la dimension structurelle de l’intégration (trajectoires scolaires, participation au marché du travail) ou encore aux questions liées à la construction identitaire des populations immigrées et de leurs enfants. Les études traitant de la place de ces populations en tant qu’acteurs au sein même des institutions et de l’ouverture des institutions à la « diversité » restent, en revanche, rares.

Sixth Franco-German Young Researchers' Symposium in Comparitive Public Law

L’Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, l’Université de Strasbourg, l’Université Albert-Ludwig de Fribourg-en-Brisgau et l’École des sciences administratives de Spire (DHV Speyer) organisent le sixième séminaire franco-allemand de jeunes chercheurs en droit public comparé les 23, 24 et 25 juin 2011. Celui-ci aura lieu à Berlin au Centre Marc Bloch (Centre franco-allemand de recherches en sciences sociales). Il se déroulera pour la troisième année consécutive dans le cadre du Collège doctoral franco-allemand « Les droits publics nationaux face à l´intégration européenne » que soutient l’Université franco-allemande. Les propositions de participation doivent être envoyées avant le 15 février 2011.
