  Terra Foundation Fellowships at the Smithsonian American Art Museum

  The Terra Foundation Fellowships in American Art at the Smithsonian American Art Museum seek to foster a cross-cultural dialogue about the history of art of the United States up to 1980. They support work by scholars from abroad who are researching American art or by U.S. scholars who are investigating international contexts for American art. Fellowships are residential and support full-time independent and dissertation research.

  Bourses d'excellence 2014 du CIEQ pour nouveaux doctorants en études québécoises

  Le Centre interuniversitaire d’études québécoises offre deux bourses d’excellence aux nouveaux doctorants en études québécoises. Ces bourses, d’une valeur de 
15 000$ chacune, ont pour objectif d’encourager la recherche dans les champs d’expertise du CIEQ et de soutenir les étudiants qui s’inscrivent à l’automne 2014 à l’UQTR au programme de doctorat en études québécoises (http://eq.cieq.ca). Elles s’adressent aux nouveaux étudiants qui s’engagent à soumettre à l’automne 2014 une demande de bourses auprès des organismes subventionnaires (CRSH-FRQSC).

  Contrats doctoraux

  Dans le cadre d’un nouvel axe de recherche, l’Institut historique allemand (IHA) offre pour l’automne 2014 des contrats doctoraux sur le thème « Stratégies de pouvoir entre époux ou concubins dans les centres dynastiques (1500–1800) ». Cet appel à candidatures s’adresse aux doctorants qui travaillent sur des problématiques relatives à la dimension politique du mariage et du concubinage (aussi des favorites) dans des centres dynastiques (cours royales). Il s’agit d’étudier non seulement l’entourage immédiat des souverains, mais aussi le milieu des cours royales dans son ensemble.

  Le projet EcoLitt (Ecologie et Littérature) porté et dirigé par Anne-Rachel Hermetet à l’université d’Angers (professeur de littérature comparée, CERIEC) se structure en trois axes de recherche et envisage d’analyser les modalités d’intervention des thèmes écologiques dans la fiction littéraire, en France, et plus largement, en Europe. L’université du Maine recherche un postdoctorant de 9 mois pour travailler dans l’axe 3 du projet, dirigé par Nathalie Prince (professeur de littérature comparée, 3L.AM) : «  Écologie et littérature de jeunesse ».

  Bourse de doctorat « La fabrique du patrimoine littéraire – Littérature française du XXe siècle »

  Ce poste à temps plein a pour objectif de mener à bien une thèse de doctorat qui s’inscrira dans le cadre du projet de recherche « La Fabrique du patrimoine littéraire. Les collections d’essais biographiques illustrés en France (1944-2014) », financé par le FWO (Fonds de la recherche scientifique, Flandre : http://www.fwo.be/). Le / la candidat(e) aura à réaliser une thèse de doctorat portant sur les « Albums de la Pléiade » (Gallimard). La recherche visera à étudier les spécificités des « Albums de la Pléiade » dans le système des collections de ce type en en faisant l’histoire et en proposant une analyse de la façon particulière dont ces biographies illustrées sont conçues, sur les plans générique et iconographique en particulier.

  Tourist mobility patterns, heritage and globalisation

  Postdoctoral fellowship Labex Dynamite 2014

  The 1980s saw the advent of a new phase of globalisation, a new phase of capitalism, a new era of heritage and a new era of tourism. While these evolutions have been clearly identified, they are often approached separately. If the changes relating to heritage can be explained by a crisis in our relationships with time, or even by a new "presentist" view of history, the new mobility patterns of tourism relate a new relationship with space that is typical of contemporary globalisation. The research project in which the post-doc candidate will be involved sets out to consider these dynamics of globalisation, heritage and tourism conjointly.

  La Cinémathèque française souhaite développer ses liens avec le monde de la recherche en histoire du cinéma. Le programme de son appel à chercheurs annuel a pour but d’offrir un accueil privilégié, assorti de divers avantages, à des chercheurs intéressés par des travaux sur ses collections, en vue de thèses ou de mastères (master 2). Le partenariat entre le chercheur et la Cinémathèque française donne lieu à un contrat de recherche stipulant les droits et obligations du chercheur. Parmi les chercheurs dont les projets seront retenus, trois pourront bénéficier d’une bourse.

  Appel à chercheurs de la Bibliothèque nationale de France (2014-2015)

  Le programme de l'appel à chercheurs a été lancé par la Bibliothèque nationale de France en 2003 ; il lui permet d'accueillir, chaque année universitaire et de manière individuelle au sein des départements, huit nouveaux chercheurs associés. En 2004, la Bibliothèque nationale de France a décidé d'accorder un soutien financier à deux chercheurs invités pendant un an, une troisième bourse étant réservée, à partir de 2012, aux travaux de recherche portant sur l'histoire du livre et des bibliothèques. Depuis 2006, des bourses de recherche sont offertes chaque année par des mécènes, sur des thèmes spécifiques : bourse Fondation Louis Roederer sur la photographie ; bourse de Madame Claude Maillard sur l'oeuvre de Claude Maillard ; bourse de Monsieur Mark Pigott sur l'histoire, les arts et l'histoire de l'art, l'innovation et les technologies ; bourse Prix de la BnF sur l'oeuvre d'Yves Bonnefoy.

  These grants provide support for publication projects on historical American art (pre-1980) that make a significant contribution to scholarship and have an international dimension. Projects may include translations of texts on American art; publications written by non-U.S. scholars or those with a significant number of non-U.S. contributors; and publications with a focused thesis exploring American art in an international context.   The Terra Foundation for American Art International Essay Prize recognizes excellent scholarship by a non-U.S. scholar in the field of historical American art. Manuscripts should advance the understanding of American art, demonstrating new findings and original perspectives. The prize-winning essay will be translated and published in American Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s scholarly journal.

  Offre d'emploi du PRES Sorbonne Paris Cité concernant un post-doctorat en études africaines-américaines pour 3 ans (XIX^e-XX^e). Le / la post-doctorant(e) devra avancer sa recherche tout en concourant à l'organisation des manifestations du projet EDHML (Écrire l'histoire depuis les marges : le cas des Africains Américains et le devenir de l'histoire), soit 2 colloques, 1 séminaire et 3 journées d'étude. Le/la doctorant(e) sera basé au laboratoire CRIDAF/ Pléiade, Université Paris 13, Villetaneuse. Il (ou elle) travaillera en coordination avec les laboratoires CREW (Paris 3 Sorbonne nouvelle) et Paris Diderot (LARCA).   Visiting Professorships at the Courtauld Institute of Art, London, 2013-2015 The deadline for all professorship applications is January 15, 2013. Two professorships are available at the Courtauld Institute to present the best recent scholarship on historical American art. A twelve-week professorship requires administering one full-term course integrated with the institute’s curriculum and participating in other scholarly activities. A one-week intensive professorship entails a public scholarly event, a seminar, and a special visit to a London gallery, archive, collection, or library relevant to American art history.
