Le séminaire examine les questions éthiques, épistémologiques, politiques, philosophiques portée par le courant transhumanisme. Le séminaire, portée par la chaire « Ethique et Transhumanisme », propose cette année de conduire ses réflexions sur deux axes principaux. En premier lieu, il s'agit de penser les questions éthiques, politiques et épistémologiques que posent l'intelligence artificielle et les algorithmes. En second lieu, ce sont les oppositions et tensions existant au sein du mouvement transhumaniste qui feront l'objet de plusieurs examens.

Les commémorations du bicentenaire du Muséum national d’histoire naturelle, en 1993, ont permis de démontrer la validité d’une histoire historienne du Muséum. Depuis, la recherche s’est révélée féconde. Dans un cadre national et international, elle se lie aux développements de tout le champ, de l’histoire naturelle à l’histoire des sciences de l’Homme, dont l’anthropologie et la préhistoire, et met en valeur les ressources archivistiques et patrimoniales du Muséum.Le séminaire « Le Muséum national d’histoire naturelle, objet d’histoire. Recherches, hommes, institutions, patrimoine, enseignement » entend contribuer au partage de la vitalité de ces travaux autour d’un établissement, de ses métiers, de ses réseaux et de ses modèles intellectuels.

Encounters of French-speaking research in the humanities and social sciences on health
Ce séminaire accueille chaque mois un·e chercheur·e en philosophie ou sciences humaines et sociales travaillant sur la santé afin qu'il·elle présente son travail et expose son regard sur l'objet santé. Organisé de manière à favoriser les échanges entre les différents acteurs, profesionnel·le·s, chercheur·e·s en santé ou tout simplement citoyens engagés, ce séminaire se veut un lieu ouvert de débat contribuant à la mise en place d’une réflexion commune sur la santé, sa nature, ses méthodes et ses enjeux. En mettant en outre l’accent sur les travaux menés en français dans ce domaine, il entend revendiquer l’importance de la francophonie dans ce champ de recherche en pleine expansion, et ainsi favoriser sa reconnaissance et son développement dans l’espace universitaire et public québécois.

Powers of Imagination. Historical Approach
The concept of imagination is today seen as as a legitimate object of study, having long been discredited by scientific research. However, in modern and contemporary literature, imagination is generally considered in a negative way, as a mental faculty that can cause disease, error, illusion or sin. By cons, its role was very important, because the imagination formed the necessary link between body and soul. So that was the preferred place to act to perform bodily healing as well as spiritual. We would go against this idea of imagination by studying intellectual tradition and alternative and misunderstood practice. Since the XIIth and XIIIth centuries until the early XIXth century, thinkers and practitioners from a diverse set of disciplines, expressing themselves from different institutional positions, supported the idea that imagination has great powers on the body and on the body and mind of others.

The history of sciences, the history of text
As in previous years, we will study: How sources bear the mark of the environments in which they were produced. We will ask the question of how the documents attest knowledge. We will be interested in the history of writing by compilation. We will carry out research on the organization that the actors have given to the recorded knowledge, looking at the parts in which they have structured their texts.

The seminar is the meeting point between different SPHERE (Science, philosophie, histoire) teams that are interested in mathematics. It fosters dialogue between philosophers and historians of mathematics while focusing on textual sources. Speakers are encouraged to make their sources available to the participants.

Ce séminaire pluri-disicplinaire porte sur les questions philosophiques et éthiques portées par le courant transhumaniste. Le séminaire, composé d'un groupe pluridisciplinaire d'universitaires se concentre sur trois axes de recherche. En premier lieu, il s'agit de penser les questions liées à la subjectivité (philosophie de l'esprit, conscience, intelligence articifielle). En second lieu, les enjeux sociaux et politiques (biopolitique, démocratie, droits de l'homme, démocratie, progressisme/conservatisme, libertarianisme, néo-libéralisme). Enfin, la généalogie du courant transhumaniste est étudiée sous ses différents aspects historiques, économiques, sociologiques et philosophiques.

History and Philosophy of Chemistry
The philosophy of chemistry is a little known reflection domain, expanding, opening up new opportunities for reflection on science and technology, often different and complementary of the perspectives opened by the philosophy of physics, biology and mathematics. This seminar will, in particular, be a place for exchanges between historians, philosophers, chemists, scientists from diverse backgrounds, students and anyone interested in the subject. It aims to promote dialogue between philosophers and historians and give voice to different historical and philosophical approaches in respect of their singularities.

This monthly seminar will aim to invite researchers to come and present their work in progress or recently published that address the “Arab mathematics”, understood in a broad sense to be studied not only mathematics itself, but science “mathematized” of the era, such as astronomy, optics and static; Furthermore, we do not restrict themselves to only written in Arabic mathematics, but we can address their writings in other languages extensions, like Latin, Hebrew and Farsi.

En s'appuyant sur le séminaire du Groupe de recherche FIRA (2015-2016) à la MSH Paris Nord, axé sur la décolonisation de toutes perspectives de connaissance euro-centrées, nous nous proposons de continuer à réfléchir et à élargir nos recherches vers une géopolitique des connaissances (E. Dussel), afin de saisir le projet d'actualisation du lieu d'énonciation, des récits historiques et culturels, de la pensée et de la production du savoir. Dans ce sens, le défi du tournant de la décolonialité s'inscrit sur la critique et la reconstitution des espaces interstitiels du cadre conceptuel hybride des différences coloniales (W. Mignolo).

Si le handicap peut « m’incapaciter complètement » (West, 1995, 15), elle est aussi le moyen de découvrir ce qui m’appartient « en propre, un vécu impossible à congédier ou à écarter d’un haussement d’épaule » (West, 1995, 18).

Caring as learning - towards a capacitation of actors and environments
Vers une capacitation des acteurs et des environnements
« Bien prendre soin » relève d’une démarche collective et réflexive d’apprentissage des acteurs en contexte. Dans cette perspective, outre l’approche, les processus et les méthodes pédagogiques, l’environnement (l’institution, l’organisation, l’équipe, l’environnement technologique, etc.) joue un rôle majeur en ce qu’il constitue une ressource essentielle de l’apprentissage. Sur ce point, la notion d’« environnement capacitant » nous semble essentielle à questionner. Depuis quelques années, des chercheurs de disciplines aussi différentes que la théorie des organisations, les sciences de l’éducation ou l’ergonomie mettent en avant cette notion afin de rendre compte du processus de transaction des facteurs contextuels en apprentissage. Ce séminaire entend aborder cette notion d’environnement capacitant tout au long du semestre à travers différents angles d’approche : organisationnel, social, technologique, pédagogique, éthique et théorie de la gouvernance.
