Instituting criteria of scientificity
Par quels processus une discipline acquiert-elle au fil du temps ses lettres de noblesse et parvient-elle à s’élever dans la hiérarchie des connaissances ? L’historiographie a insisté sur le rôle normatif des pratiques, des institutions et des individus dans la démarche de légitimation d’un domaine scientifique. Nous connaissons l’importance des différents outils pédagogiques et institutionnels de diffusion des savoirs ; de même, nous mesurons l’impact de la création des réseaux ainsi que celle des procédures de fabrication des savoirs. Parallèlement à l’analyse de ces phénomènes, ce symposium vise plus particulièrement à comparer la nature des critères de scientificité qui sous-tendent les différents champs disciplinaires.

Paradigms, models, scenarios and practices in terms of strong sustainability
While the notion of sustainability continues to be associated with the Brundtland Report (1987) and the concept of sustainable development, a community of sustainability researchers and practitioners increasingly seeks to emancipate the concept to be consistent with the knowledge and aspirations of the moment. The enthusiasm and expectations for more sustainability go beyond mere environmental issues. They touch on crucial social issues as well. The symposium papers intends to question the paradigms, models, scenarios and practices that embody sustainability. One may wonder what meaning should be given to the very idea of sustainability and the representations it conveys.

The mirrors of Hippocrates - medicine and otherness from Antiquity to the present day
Médecine et altérité de l’Antiquité à nos jours
Cette journée d’étude entend interroger le rapport entre la pensée médicale et l’altérité à des époques différentes de l’histoire. L’objectif est de comprendre comment la médecine a contribué, par sa façon d’interpréter les différences, à construire ou consolider des discours infériorisant certains groupes humains. Y a-t-il, au contraire, des arguments médicaux qui vont à l’encontre de ces préjugés ? Comment en proposer une lecture à partir du contexte au sein duquel ils émergent ? Comment et par quels biais les représentations et les conceptions de la différence sexuelle, physique ou raciale influencent-t-elles les pratiques de santé ? En mobilisant un large champ disciplinaire, ce sujet interroge notre vision des sociétés du passé et du présent. L’analyse fine du discours médical vise à éclairer, de manière originale, la question du rapport à l’Autre à travers l’histoire.

L'idée de ce colloque d'une journée sur Alexandre von Humboldt est de réunir des spécialistes de diverses disciplines qui couvrent aujourd'hui les nombreux domaines auxquels le travail et les idées de von Humboldt ont contribué, en particulier dans son œuvre maîtresse Kosmos (1845-1862). Nous voulons montrer comment le travail scientifique de ce plus grand encyclopédiste de la première moitié de l'Europe du XIXe siècle est plus que jamais au cœur des questions liées à notre planète d'origine, la Terre, et aux questions posées par notre entrée dans l’Anthropocène.

The purpose of this seminar is to position itself at the center of the scientific, epistemological, technological and societal transformations that the developments of artificial intelligence engage. The seminar we propose therefore aims to study AI in its technological / scientific duality, through its historical, philosophical, epistemological, ethical and sociological aspects. In order to understand the modern stakes of this discipline, we will consider it here as defined in its historicity, but also as a scientific tool, tool of knowledge and transformation of knowledge, of understanding, finally as a socio-cultural entity in interaction with its environment, whether it is human or non-human.

On le sait, les évolutions très rapides de la science posent des questions qui mettent en conflit les représentations du vivant : quelle attitude avoir devant certaines innovations ? Qu’autoriser ? Qu’interdire ? Que contrôler ? À propos de thèmes aussi divers que le début et la fin de vie, la procréation médicalement assistée, l’intervention médicale sur le vivant, les discussions et questions sont multiples. Les grands enjeux actuels de la bioéthique seront étudiés à travers le prisme de disciplines variées telles que la philosophie, la sociologie, les neurosciences, la science politique ou encore le droit.

Elles incluent les collections botaniques, zoologiques, ou microbiologiques. À travers une approche anthropologique, historique ou philosophique, le séminaire explorera quelques questions. Comment ont été et sont définies aujourd’hui les collections vivantes ? Par qui et pour qui ? Quelles sont leurs raisons d’être et comment s’articulent-elles à des paradigmes scientifiques ? Quelles valeurs les sous-tendent ? Quelles spécificités leur caractère vivant apporte-t-il en termes de pratique de collecte, de conservation, de recherche, et d’exposition ?

Le transhumanisme s’inscrit comme l’une des questions les plus redoutables de la pratique contemporaine des techno-sciences. Les développements de la génétique, des neurosciences, de l’intelligence artificielle, de la robotique, la pharmacologie ou la psychiatrie questionnent nos priorités et nos principes éthiques. Ils instaurent de fait le transhumanisme en sujet d’une controverse impliquant non seulement les philosophes et les intellectuels, mais aussi un nombre croissant d’acteurs scientifiques, industriels, politiques et juridiques.

Réfléchir aux fondements du dessin – lieu d’inspiration pour l’artiste, « activateur de pensée », projection de fantasmes artistiques, trace balbutiante de compositions « in progress », transcription brute d’imaginaires figurés, « premier jet » graphique d’abstractions conceptuelles, vérification « sur pièces » d’hypothèses rêvées, essai visant à tester la capacité réalisatrice, aboutissement d’utopies intangibles par d’autres techniques, etc. – autant que poser les pratiques et usages sociaux du dessin – intimité secrète d’une œuvre à l’amont de son processus, circulation d’une ébauche servant de modèles aux disciples, projet destiné aux commanditaires, fondement de l’enseignement artistique au XIXe siècle, objet de convoitise des collectionneurs, trace mobile aisément reproductible, etc. –, inscrit le débat d’idées à la frontière de l’histoire de l’art, de la génétique et de l’histoire culturelle.

Ce projet d’ouvrage collectif est porté par Emmanuel Nal (Mulhouse, LISEC, EA 2310, équipe Normes et Valeurs) et Sylvain Roux (Poitiers, MAPP, EA 2626). Il s’inscrit dans le domaine de la philosophie pratique, commun aux axes de recherche des deux laboratoires et s’adresse à un public d’enseignants, mais aussi de soignants et de manière générale à un public citoyen ; son objet consiste à interroger l’état de l’art des recherches menées sur la vérité dans une finalité d’épistémologie de l’action : que peut-on faire et que peut-on enseigner de la vérité ?

5th Emersiology seminar Living Body / Lived Body
Au cours de la 1er année du séminaire d'émersiologie, nous avons pu démontrer combien sentir son corps vivant supposait une activation inconsciente par une immersion expérientielle et un éveil de sensations inédites. Dans la seconde année nous avons recherché ce corps capacitaire, qui révèle des potentialités inédites soit en les activant soit en les découvrant par les activités physiques mais aussi les techniques corporelles. Dans la troisième année, nous approfondissions ce qui émerse depuis notre espace corporel vivant et vécu en y prêtant attention comment s’activer Dans la quatrième année, la vivacité a été étudiée : Le développement biographique de la vivacité dans une conscience de son vécu suppose que le corps vivant contienne suffisamment d’engrammes, d’impressions et de sensations. Dans cette cinquième année, force est donnée à la reviviscence, analysée par Charcot, qui sera une des voies pour décrire l’émersion comme la conséquence de l’activation du vivant et comme une source de créativité pour la conscience du vécu.

The journal does not favour any particular philosophical school, perspective or methodology.

Quantum Social Theory: The Future of Sociology?
In sociology, without explicit basis on quantum theory, numerous streams established strong similarities with it, setting at the forefront of their paradigm: the subjectivity of the observer, the continuous adjustment between the object and the observer, the impossibility to be fully deterministic or discussions about an objective reality. In this session, we invite panellists to discuss the links that can be drawn between quantum theory and sociology. We welcome both empirical (qualitative or quantitative) as well as theoretical papers. Depending on the variety and the quality of the papers, a publication will be considered to set the basis of this emerging theoretical stream.

Life and Mind. Aristotelian themes in contemporary philosophy
Despite the interest in exploring Aristotelian themes in contemporary philosophy, there has been no coordinated attempt to survey or integrate the ways in which Aristotle’s approach to understanding life, mind, and the relation between them might inform and enrich our own. The objective of this workshop is to explore the way in which Aristotelian thought can brought to bear on contemporary research on the much-debated issue of the so-called mind-body problem and on its implications for the conceptualization of notions such as that of organism, animal and human perception and action, human moral agency, and the relation between mind and life.
