Open Information Science Review
Since its inception, the digital humanities has considered the question “what is it to be human in relation to machines in the digital age?” This issue of Open Information Science asks for papers that consider how we can understand “digital wellness” as part of the ongoing inquiry into what acts, representations, and understandings exist around human-ness in the digital era. Particularly, this volume seeks to explore the possibilities of digital wellness provided through a range of disciplines and forms. We invite papers which consider architectures, platforms, and diverse disciplinary engagements with the opportunities and challenges surrounding digital wellness.

The 23rd edition of the International Conference on Electronic Publishing (ElPub) will celebrate the cultural diversity in all aspects of the transmission and perception of the written, spoken and illustrated word! In 2019, ElPub will expand your horizons and perceptions. Taking as an inspirational starting point the concept of bibliodiversity, the forum will revisit its definition and explore what it means today. Being organised five years after the adoption of the International Declaration of Independent Publishers to Promote and Strengthen Bibliodiversity Together, supported in 2014 by 400 publishers from 45 countries, the conference aims to bring together the enquiring academic, professional and publishing industry minds keen to explore the ever evolving nature of the knowledge transmission within human societies.

For the launch of an international digitization and digital edition project, the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of sciences and humanities (BBAW) invites applications for the position of a Research Assistant (male/female/divers) in the field of Digital Humanities (Digital Scholarly Editions and Research Software Development).The position is based in Berlin, Germany, but includes regular work assignments and team meetings in Havana. The focus of the project is on cultural and scientific historical sources of the 18th and 19th centuries in the context of Alexander von Humboldt's American journey.

Writing/Translating social media
Social media are now an integral part of our daily lives and the plurality of uses and misuses of those tools is striking : they range from personal interactions to corporate advertising or political campaigning, and from passive consumption of content to creative practices. Through their interfaces and because of their relation to time and topicality, social media trigger specific modes of writing and translating; they also impact the whole chain of publishing, redefine readership and raise archival issues. On could also mention the recent concentration of mainstream media within the GAFAM and an increased relianceon machine-generated content. We therefore welcome contributions that examine the process of writing and/or translating social media from a creative writing, translation studies, institutional, sociological or economic perspective.

D'abord parce que le renforcement du lien science / société place la recherche scientifique au cœur d'un double mouvement : dans un sens les chercheurs sont invités à occuper dans l'espace public une place d'expert pour éclairer et résoudre des problématiques collectives, et en retour le contenu de leur travail est forcément tributaire de ces attentes sociales, économiques et politiques. Ensuite parce que leur activité se déploie dans un contexte devenu concurrentiel, où la notoriété est un critère d'évaluation qui conditionne notamment l'obtention de moyens à tous les niveaux - individus, équipes, établissements. Pour comprendre ces mécanismes de visibilité, et en faire jouer quelques clés, nous vous proposons une journée ouverte à tous les chercheurs et enseignants-chercheurs.

Valorisation, médiation et démocratisation
L’une des richesses des bibliothèques réside dans leurs collections patrimoniales. Mais du fait même de leur caractère précieux, inédit voire unique, ces collections restent encore souvent méconnues du grand public, tout en suscitant un réel intérêt et une curiosité scientifique, culturelle et artistique. Rendre le patrimoine accessible et attrayant peut donc être un facteur possible de démocratisation des savoirs, mais aussi un ciment social autour d’un héritage, local et national, commun. Repenser ce patrimoine et sa réception induit en outre une dynamique de la connaissance elle-même, en ajoutant une plus-value scientifique à la valeur intrinsèque de collections qui jusque-là pouvaient sembler endormies de ce long sommeil séculaire des choses oubliées. Le patrimoine des bibliothèques devenant de belles éveillées, comment opérer dans les bibliothèques cette métamorphose qui donne, régénère, renouvelle, modernise et valorise ?

“Open Information Science” Journal
The majority of academic papers on the topic of Open Access publishing are available only in fee for use journals. Thus, to make research about open access more widely available, Open Information Science is inviting research, review, and position papers for inclusion in a special issue about Open Access to be published during open access week in October 2018. Especially of interest are papers considering existing models of Open Access (platinum, gold, green, fair) and the controversies surrounding each of them. Works about the development of the Open Access movement and the usage and acceptance of works published openly, are welcome as well. All the submissions will be reviewed by an international panel of experts in the field.

L’édition scientifique est passée par plusieurs étapes : « enrichie » puis « structurée », elle utilise désormais les technologies du web sémantique et du web de données, et continuera d’évoluer suivant les technologies et leurs applications. Elle vit également un bouleversement par la remise en cause des modèles économiques classiques. Son avenir se situe désormais dans sa capacité à gérer les connexions intelligentes entre le réel et le virtuel, entre les objets éditoriaux divers dont les standards seront ouverts et universels.

Is the analysis of websites still relevant today?
Cette journée d’études est la troisième d’une série de journées consacrées à la problématique du site web. Une première journée d’études organisée en 2016 posait la question suivante : « L’analyse des sites web est-elle toujours pertinente ? ». Cette journée d’études, riche en échanges, a permis de mettre en évidence plusieurs éléments clefs documentés dans un ouvrage collectif paru aux éditions de Boeck. Une deuxième journée, en 2017, a traité plus particulièrement la problématique des sites web émanant d’une organisation sociale, en prenant le terme « organisation » au sens large (entreprises, collectivités, institutions publiques ou privées). La troisième journée se propose de prolonger la problématique ouverte par les deux précédentes en examinant, plus particulièrement, la place, la fonction et l’évolution du site web dans les nouveaux écosystèmes de communication multi et interculturelle

« Révolution numérique », « digitalisation du social », « plateformisation de lʼéconomie », avènement des « humanités numériques »… Nombreuses sont les désignations dʼun phénomène perçu comme une rupture : lʼintroduction du « numérique » dans le quotidien de nos sociétés, quʼil sʼagisse de travail, de loisir, du lien au passé ou au présent, du public ou du privé. Le colloque Transnumpropose dʼinterroger ces transformations liées au numérique, en orchestrant la rencontre entre chercheurs relevant de différentes disciplines qui, chacune, rencontrent ces mutations, tant dans les objets de la recherche et la façon de les modéliser ou de les constituer que dans lʼappareil scientifique et méthodologique utilisé.

Health Literacy and Physical Literacy in Library Practice
This special issue of Open Information Science seeks submissions related to the theme of "Health Literacy and Physical Literacy in Library Practice." We invite case studies focused on services and programs offered in particular libraries, as well as general analyses of how libraries support health and physical literacies. This special issue seeks to deepen our understanding of how libraries support health literacy and physical literacy through their programs, services, and spaces. We also invite submissions on challenges libraries confront, as well as philosophical and theoretical submissions on the place of health literacy or physical literacy within library practice. Finally, submissions focused on professional or continuing education programs focused on enabling library professionals to better support these literacies are invited. Submissions are invited on library practices in any type of library environment (i.e. academic, school, public). Submissions on public library practices are especially encouraged.
