  L’objectif du colloque organisé conjointement par le Comité franco-allemand des historiennes et historiens des XIX^e et XX^e siècles et l’université de Strasbourg est de mettre en valeur l’histoire de la pensée et de la pratique solidaire à l’époque contemporaine, dans un espace national comme transnational. Dans quelle mesure y-a-t-il eu des convergences, des divergences ou des interactions dans l’évolution des pensées et des pratiques de solidarité en France et en Allemagne, mais aussi en Europe et dans le monde ? Qu’en est-il des paradoxes ou des contradictions dans le débat sur la solidarité ?

  Le projet DELI (« Dictionnaire encyclopédique des littératures de l’Inde ») organise le 7 décembre 2017 à la Maison des sciences de l’Homme sa cinquième journée d'étude. Intitulée « Littératures d'Asie du Sud en diaspora », cette journée d'étude vise à interroger la nature des phénomènes littéraires découlant des diasporas sud-asiatiques, récentes ou plus anciennes. Cette journée d'étude est organisée avec le soutien du Centre d’études de l’Inde et de l’Asie du Sud.

  The power of corporate business has been a subject of intense debate and many social science studies since the 19^th century. This conference is based on the idea that, not only has this power varied among industries, countries and different periods, but also that the way in which it is wielded has evolved over time. By bringing together scholars from various backgrounds within the fields of history, sociology, and political science, we intend to provide new insights on the multiplicity, depth and limits of the forms of influence that corporations, or the organizations furthering their interests – business associations, think tanks, communication or public relations agencies, foundations, etc. –, have on public policy.

  Cette rencontre avec deux sociologues spécialistes de l’Iran s’inscrit dans une recherche collective sur les références aux Lumières dans les débats contemporains (programme MSH-Sud Lumières actives, LumAc20-21). L’objet du projet « Lumières actives : 20e et 21e siècles » est d’analyser le phénomène politique, philosophique et culturel que désigne en français le syntagme LesLumières, en fonction de ses réactivations dans le monde contemporain. Le but du projet est de mieux comprendre la façon dont ce courant, unique ou multiple, touche aujourd’hui différentes cultures et se trouve réactivé ou contesté de différentes façons.

  Modernism and Rurality: Mapping the State of Research (EAHN 2018 - Tallin)

  5th European Architectural History Network International Meeting, in Tallinn, June 2018

  This session aims to address, from a historical perspective, the relation between, on one side, architecture and the related disciplines, and on the other side, agriculture and rurality at large. We welcome proposals specifically mapping case studies concerned with large-scale agricultural development and/or colonization schemes conceived and (but not necessarily) implemented in Europe and beyond during modern times (late 18th-20th century), strongly connected to nation- and State-building processes, and to the modernization of the countryside. We are particularly interested in those examples which aimed to “make the difference” in both scale and numbers, entailing radical reshaping of previously uninhabited or sparsely populated areas into new, planned, “total” rural landscapes.

  Performance through the prism of gender and language

  Depuis la publication de Gender trouble de Judith Butler en 1990 (traduit en français en 2005), le concept de performance a connu un vif succès dans les études de genre et il est devenu un outil extrêmement fécond pour appréhender le genre en tant que processus et actualisation dans le langage. La focalisation des recherches autour du genre en tant que « faire », « pratique », « routine » est en étroite corrélation avec les travaux menés en micro-sociologie de la vie quotidienne par Goffman (1959) concernant la mise en scène de soi et avec les recherches en  ethnométhodologie (Garfinkel 1967, West et Zimmerman 1987) sur le genre en tant qu’accomplissement pratique et quotidien.

  Le thème général du colloque porte sur les différentes modalités de circulation des personnes dans le contexte actuel de la globalisation des échanges (migrations économiques) et d’instabilité et recomposition géopolitique (exils). Après avoir montré la complexité des phénomènes migratoires en termes de circulations (micro ou macro-échelle, approches statistiques ou testimoniales, remakes, circulations subies ou choisies), on s’attachera à monter la marge étroite des possibles entre les contraintes juridiques et les différentes formes d’accueil et d’assistance collective aux migrants. Ancré pour partie dans un lieu de mémoire, l'événement mettra en évidence, à côté de la violence qui s’exerce sur l’individu, la dynamique des imaginaires.

  Although bankruptcy is a rather exceptional situation in the life of a merchant, it has explanatory power for routines of economic stakeholders. Considering the long, non-uniform and unsteady transition from merchant capitalism to industrial and financial capitalism, we suggest to start a dialog between modernistes and contemporanéistes. The workshop focuses on the various forms of contextualizing business failure and puts forward three major research axes: Covering and uncovering/secrecy and publicity; economic space and area of jurisdiction; temporal narratives of (in)solvency.
