  On 21 and 22 March 2017, the 9^th TextGrid. DARIAH User Meeting will take place at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities (Bayerische Akademie der Wissenschaften) in Munich. The conference focusses on digital editions and geographic data. As at the 8th User Meeting, the event will provide an opportunity for beginners to become acquainted with TextGrid by processing typical use cases.

The main task of a VCC head is to work closely with DARIAH Working Groups.   Introducing THEMAS, a tool for multilingual thesaurus building

  The topic of the workshop will be "Building Multilingual Theasauri" and will focus on the presentation of the greek web tool THEMAS (Thesaurus Management System), which was developed within the framework of DARIAH-Gr project. The workshop is intended for the humanistic scientific community and for GLAM institutions (archives, libraries, museums) to wich theasauri are necessary not only for the organization of knowledge and information in general but are also an important factor in ensuring the sustainability of e-infrastructures.

  As a follow-up to the realizations from a previous scientific symposium on the “Old Book — Cultural-Historical and Scientific Source” (Osijek, October 25 and 26, 2013) and the second interdisciplinary scientific symposium with international participation titled “Literary Heritage Nowadays” (Osijek, November 6 and 7, 2015), by virtue of this conference the organizers would like to facilitate their in-depth analysis and upgrade while especially providing their contribution to a continued study of the opus of the Franciscan esthetician, philosophical-theological writer, Latinist, historian and translator Emerik (Mirko) Pavić (1716 – 1780), whose selected works were dispatched to be digitized within the aforementioned project, on the occasion of his 300^th birth anniversary.

  Subjectivity, corporality and connected objects. Comparative approaches to design and the future of interaction

  Le développement actuel des « objets connectés » et de l'« Internet of Everything » (de la brosse à dents connectée au compteur électrique dit « intelligent »), soulève la question de leurs influences sur le corps – que le corps soit compris comme un ensemble d’attitudes sensorimotrices, comme le sentiment intime d’être soi, ou comme le siège même de la subjectivité. En effet, loin d’être de simples « prolongements » du corps ou des « interfaces », ces objets inscrivent les corps dans des circuits complexes de données et d'interactions, et structurent par là même notre être-au-monde. Nourri par les regards croisés de théoriciens et de praticiens, en faisant appel à la philosophie, à la sociologie, au design et à l’art, le séminaire se donnera pour tâche d’explorer les modes d’interaction spécifiques que ces objets induisent, et le rôle que leur design sera amené à avoir dans la construction de nos subjectivités individuelles et collectives.

  La production d’une édition électronique exige la mobilisation de techniques spécifiques pour l’établissement des textes, l’enregistrement des annotations scientifiques et la publication. La Text Encoding Initiative (TEI) offre à la fois une infrastructure et un cadre conceptuel pour accompagner la production d’édition critique numérique. Le travail de modélisation d’une édition avec la TEI permet à la fois de documenter son édition en déclarant formellement son utilisation de la TEI mais aussi personnaliser la TEI pour l’adapter finement aux objectifs scientifiques de son projet.

While the Internet user is alive, he remains in charge of managing these identities, with the help of digital privacy law. Yet as civil rights befall the living, these data protection rights, as such, fall as his death occurs.
