  Latin American Oil Revolutions in the Development Century project (Graduate Institute Geneva)

  Postdoctoral position as part of the SNSF-funded “AnthropoSouth”: Latin American Oil Revolutions in the Development Century Eccellenza Project, under the leadership of Prof. Antoine Acker (Department of International History and Politics). The researcher will be affiliated to the Centre for International Environmental Studies (CIES) at IHEID. The major innovation of the project is to develop the first research team that will seek to build a place for Latin America as a continent in the Anthropocene narrative. By shedding light on chains of political intentionality that pursued alternatives to the Western capitalist energy model, this new geographic perspective will make a substantial contribution to pluralizing and denaturalizing the history of human-induced geological and climatic change.

  Le projet ANR EN-MIG « Enfants en décolonisation : migrations contraintes et construction individuelle (France– 1945-1980)» porte sur les migrations contraintes impliquant des enfants des différentes parties de l’empire colonial français en décomposition. Le choix méthodologique principal de ce projet est de proposer une histoire s’appuyant sur les archives disponibles, ainsi que sur les récits que les personnes concernées ont produits en avançant en âge. Outre un recensement des sources disponibles, cette approche implique la réalisation d’une base de données rassemblant l’ensemble de la production des récits, témoignages publiés, témoignages audio-visuels des personnes concernées par ces déplacements, mais aussi les traces de soi et ego-archives telles que carnets, journaux intimes, dessins, photographies. La réalisation et l’alimentation de cette base de données fait l’objet de la présente offre de contrat post-doctoral.

  Dans un espace compris entre Aire-sur-l’Adour / Biscarosse / Anglet / Bidos / Bordes, des entreprises  et des pionniers soucieux d’innovation ont créé dans une région marquée par la ruralité des pôles industriels dynamiques qui, après la seconde guerre mondiale, donnèrent naissance à ce qui est devenu presque un « district aéronautique » assez unique en son genre mais encore fort mal connu. Au tournant de la mondialisation, en dépit de turbulences, ces entreprises , fortes d’une implantation locale, nationale et internationale, ont connu une nouvelle phase, avec leur intégration dans les géants du secteur. Depuis quelques années, de nouvelles recompositions sont à l’œuvre, notamment en ce qui concerne la sous-traitance. La thèse visera à mettre au jour l’histoire entrecroisée des acteurs économiques (pionniers, entreprises, institutions), des implantations industrielles dans un espace marqué par un modèle spécifique d’industrialisation et de la circulation des innovations techniques.

  This call for applications aims in particular to support a doctorate focused on the collections of the Mahler Music Library (Paris), possibly in connection with additional funds kept in other heritage collections. It is adressed to students holding a Master II (or equivalent), or who will have validated this diploma at the latest at the start of the 2021 school year and newly registered for a doctorate at the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes/PSL at the start of the 2021 school year, or to doctoral students already registered in the first year at EPHE/PSL. The thesis supported by this funding will be supervised by the Professor of musicology at EPHE/PSL and accompanied by the team of the “Royaumont Libraries”. The successful candidate will benefit from a grant monthly of 1500 € for ten months, renewable twice.

  Full-time, 36-month-long international PhD contract at Sorbonne University (PhD program IV) within the research centre Eur'ORBEM and in partnership with the French Research Centre in Social Sciences (CEFRES) in Prague, from 1 October 2020, under the supervision of Clara Royer. The PhD thesis may be written in French or in English. PhD propositions should focus on the discourses and practices surrounding the orphan condition in literature and/or visual arts (cinema, photography, graphic arts and so forth) in the wake of the violence and demographic upheavals that characterized 20^th century East-Central Europe.
