Travailler et vivre sur son lieu de travail
Les propositions de communication devront interroger l’interpénétration entre l’espace de travail et l’espace de vie, ou l’espace de travail et de hors-travail. Il s’agira de se pencher sur la manière dont les moments de travail et de hors-travail s’ancrent dans un même lieu, y sont négociés et/ou y entrent en concurrence. Quelles places le travail et le hors-travail occupent-ils dans la conception des espaces productifs, mais aussi dans la manière dont ils sont concrètement vécus, pratiqués et appropriés ? Comment la ligne de partage entre lieux (et moments) de vie et travail a-t-elle évolué depuis les époques les plus anciennes et sous quelles formes ? Dans quelle mesure est-elle véritablement opérante ? Comment se traduisent spatialement les rythmes du travail et du hors-travail ? Les moments de vie et de travail se déroulent-ils dans un seul et même lieu ou s’ancrent-ils dans des espaces spécifiques, strictement distincts ? Peut-on plus généralement dissocier la dimension temporelle de la dimension spatiale entre le travail et le hors travail ? Dans quelle mesure les lieux de travail sont-ils aussi des lieux de vie ? Comment sont-ils vécus et appropriés ? La fonction productive d’un lieu de travail peut-elle être subvertie par les acteurs qui l’occupent ?

Faire société(s) avec les animaux pour/par le paysage : constats, actions, perspectives

Où sont les autres dans cette forme si singulière d’appréhension du réel qu’une partie de l’humanité a fini par appeler paysage, landschaft, landscape, paisagio, medio ambiante... Au-delà des seuls « autres humains », comment s’y loge la multiplicité des êtres avec qui nous cohabitons la Terre ? C’est là le vaste sujet que ce numéro de la revue Projets de paysage propose d’explorer. En partie seulement, puisqu’il ne s’agira ici « que » des animaux. Comment l’idée de paysage évolue-t-elle au contact des animaux ? Comment évoluent nos façons d’agir, nos comportements de ménagement ou d’aménagement de nos espaces de vie ? Au nom du paysage, que faisons-nous pour contribuer au mouvement général de cohabitation de la Terre avec les autres, animaux et vivants ? Ce dossier est ouvert autant aux chercheurs et chercheuses sensibles au sujet qu’à des paysagistes, artistes, architectes ou autres spécialistes de l’action sur l’espace et les territoires qui auraient fait des expériences de processus ou conduites de projets ou d’études, susceptibles d’alimenter la rubrique « Matières premières », en forme de récits ou de retours d’expériences, ou d’être portées sur un niveau plus réflexif dans la rubrique « Dossier thématique ».

Ce séminaire entend jeter des ponts entre des historiographies dynamiques bien que trop souvent hermétiques les unes aux autres : celles des conflits qui ont animé le premier vingtième siècle. Il propose d’étudier les sociétés engagées dans toutes les formes de conflits de l’amont à l’aval des deux conflits mondiaux.

Si la représentation de l’espace semble dominée par l’orientation vers des pôles ou des lieux de pouvoir jusqu’au XIe siècle, cela n’a pas empêché la genèse de comtés, pagi, diocèses et autres circonscriptions. Aussi ce séminaire franco‐allemand aura‐t‐il pour principal objet l’inscription spatiale des institutions et des pouvoirs durant l’époque médiévale, au sens le plus large du terme. Nos interrogations porteront sur les phénomènes qui créent une ville à partir d’une agglomération ou d’un simple sanctuaire, ceux qui transforment une cité en diocèse étendu dans l’espace, ou encore ceux qui font d’un espace donné une région, une circonscription ou un territoire. Conjointement le séminaire souhaite proposer un cadre permettant de se familiariser avec les recherches franco‐allemandes les plus récentes ou de présenter un travail en cours (Thèse, articles, Master).

The CIDEHUS (Interdisciplinary Center for History, Cultures, and Societies) is a non-profit research unit in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences. Its core discipline is History, and its scientific program focuses on studying the impact of diversity and changes in the South over the long term. The "South" it engages with is multifaceted: not only the South of Portugal but also this political formation in the context of Southern Europe and the geographies of the southern hemisphere with which it has had historical ties in the past. It publishes two collections of academic books, both of which undergo scientific peer review by international committees, using the "double-blind peer review" system. These collections are titled: "Biblioteca - Estudos & Colóquios" and "Fontes & Inventários." As the name suggests, the latter is dedicated to disseminating research tools and sources that aid researchers in their work.

The Conference will propose a space for dialogue and for raising the profile of these different actions, which aim to build strategies and alternatives to violence.

Call for Papers: Masculinities in Migration
Building on the achievements of feminist approaches to migration, this call for papers invites contributions that place gender—masculinity—at the heart of their thinking. The aim of this thematic folder in preparation is to look beyond the figure of the “breadwinner” (a man who migrates to feed a family back home) in order to explore the plurality of masculinities that emerge in migration. This call for papers is open to contributions from a range of social science disciplines, dealing with a variety of historical and geographical contexts.

Since 2023, the PIOMIG project “Pioneers of Global Migration (16th- 21st centuries)”, supported by the Maison des Sciences de l'Homme et de la Société - Sud-Est (MSHS-SE) and the Institut Convergences Migrations (ICM), has been studying so-called “pioneer” migratory phenomena, which lie upstream and on the margins of the major migratory currents already well identified in scholarly literature. After organizing a first workshop, which enabled us to better define this notion (https://epi-revel.univ-cotedazur.fr/publication/pionniers-migrations), we propose to convene a symposium on December 4, 5 and 6, 2025. This symposium will provide an opportunity to present the original material collected and analysed in recent years, and to compare it with other approaches and studies on related subjects.

Eco-conservation: preventive conservation in the face of climate change challenges

The journal Technè intends to propose an issue dedicated to recognizing preventive conservation as a research method and application tool integrated into a responsible and sustainable project benefiting cultural property and the actors who ensure their preservation against contemporary challenges. This issue, which will be published in 2026, aims to be an evident continuation of issue 34 published in 2011, titled "Preventive Conservation, an Evolving Approach. 1990-2010".

Cultural heritage outreach in romance languages (CHORAL) PDH
Coordinated by the Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour, CHORAL (Cultural Heritage Outreach in RomAnce Languages) is a Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska Curie programme co-funded by the European Union. It is tied to the Cultural Heritage Hub, an international research network within the Unita Alliance, which structures its research ecosystem facing cultural related challenges. CHORAL aims to train high-quality international researchers and to encourage the development of interdisciplinary, international and inter-sectoral research that addresses any aspect of Cultural Heritage. The successful candidates will enrol in PhD programs under joint supervision that will require an international mobility. Choral students will benefit from dedicated events and a tailored doctoral training programme.

The “Islam - Migrations - Gender” workshop aims to initiate a dialogue between three fields of research that communicate little: the history of Islam, the history of migrations and the history of gender. The first is too focused on religious dimensions for some, the second is too focused on state control of migration others, and the third is too “militant” for the rest. How, then, can we write a social and cultural history of Muslims in Europe that integrates gender as a category of historical analysis and focuses on the daily lives of the actors, highlighting their “agency”?

Illiberalism, participation, and (un)mobilization
Inside activism was the subject of a profusion of studies in the 1990s and 2000s, whether in the environmental field, gender politics, or urban policy, many of which can be found in the special issue devoted to it by Politix in 2005. Although this subject has received less attention since then, it has prompted much research abroad, particularly in Latin America. This event aims to revisit the study of institutional activism by examining it in the light of diverse political contexts, particularly within the authoritarian and illiberal dynamics that shape the commitment of public agents.

Labour and health of undocumented migrant women: condition, trends, critical issues
The primary objective of this Frontiers Research Topic is to produce a comprehensive understanding of the working conditions, health status, and acts of resistance among undocumented migrant women. By investigating these elements, the research intends to explore the intersections of labour and health inequalities imposed on these women due to their undocumented statuses and their positioning within the lower strata of global labour hierarchies. Moreover, it seeks to address the broader societal impacts of these conditions and propose potential pathways for improving their lives and labour conditions.

From Revolution to Exile: Arab Diaspora Politics in a Post-2011 Context
The American sociologist, Roger Brubaker critiques the overuse of "diaspora" as a static concept, likening it instead to a fluid "category of practice, project, claim and stance." Furthermore, the literature recognizes diasporas primarily as transnational communities with multiple societal affiliations and identities. However, recent political upheavals, like the 2010-2011 Arab uprisings, have thrust Middle Eastern and North African diasporas into new contentious and repressive dynamics, highlighting their changing roles and challenges, often referred to as the "Diaspora Spring". The proposed one-day international conference aims to delve into these complexities, focusing on empirical case studies from the MENA region post-2011 to explore innovative political roles and strategies developed by diasporas in navigating their multifaceted identities and engagements in a post-uprising world.
