This conference re-examines four centuries of musical and artistic exchange between Italy and Jerusalem. It asks how sound, performance and visual practice have shaped social space, identity and cultural diplomacy at this East–West crossroads, inviting scholars, practitioners and community actors to present new research on archives, networks and hybrid repertoires from the sixteenth to the twenty-first century.

From gardening to landscaping, from La Quintinie to tomorrow.
The transition from gardening to spatial design or planning, and vice versa, is a common issue in gardens and large parks, both historic and contemporary. The aim of this symposium is to bring together gardeners, historians, geographers, landscape architects, urban planners and other disciplines concerned with the art of gardening and landscape design, to examine and explore this transition between gardening and landscape. The 400th anniversary of the birth of Jean de La Quintinie (March 1st, 1626), designer and first gardener of the Potager du Roi, and the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Ecole nationale supérieure de paysage at the Potager du Roi (October 15th 1976) serve as catalysts.

By focusing on the legacy of American architect Frank Lloyd Wright in France, this conference is intended our knowledge of a still unknown part of French architectural production of the second half of the second half of the twentieth century, a prolific period for architecture, but of which certain aspects remain to be explored and questioned, particularly approaches and proposals outside the mainstream.

Didier Lefèvre (1957-2007) is known to the general public as "The Photographer", the hero of a series of comic strips conceived with cartoonist Emmanuel Guibert and colorist Frédéric Lemercier.

L’autopoïétique et les enjeux du discours artistique contemporain
Le colloque vise à explorer l’autopoïétique comme une approche artistique et esthétique qui met en forme le soi en tant que matière plastique. Dans l’art contemporain, l’œuvre n’est plus une simple représentation du monde extérieur, mais devient le manifeste d’une expression intime et singulière, dont la valeur réside dans l’originalité de l’acte créatif. L’autopoïétique permet à l’artiste de construire une position subjective face au monde et est considérée comme une voie heuristique pour repenser la créativité contemporaine, explorant l’individualité comme un territoire fertile d’invention et de critique face aux pratiques artistiques actuelles.

Le cycle de conférences TEXTE [S-oN] IMAGE interroge les interrelations entre les outils dont nous disposons pour nous exprimer, communiquer, rendre compte des mondes sensibles à travers les médias numériques. Comment ceux-ci modifient nos perceptions, nos attentes, nos usages, nos manières de concevoir et faire de l’art dans ce que nous nommons des espaces, toujours entre tangible et intangible ? Cette nouvelle édition, à la suite des précédentes, reste axée autour des questions de cartographies sensibles, d’identité et des relations entre corps et machine. Elle aura lieu du jeudi 27 au samedi 29 novembre 2025 à l’Institut National des Beaux-Arts de Tétouan, avec l’aide de l’Institut Français, l’université Paris 8 et Transcultures.

The German Federal Agency for Civic Education and the Genshagen Foundation are jointly organising the Summer Academy “Memories of Landscape. On Traces of Violence in Nature” for young professionals aged 25 to 35 from Croatia, France, Germany, Poland, Ukraine and the Western Balkan countries, which will take place from 2-5 September 2025 at Genshagen Castle (near Berlin). The Summer Academy addresses the question of how landscapes become memory spaces of human violence – and how we deal today with these silent, often overlooked archives.

Le très grand développement d’internet a augmenté le nombre de ses utilisateurs dans le monde oriental et méditerranéen au cours de ces dernières années, et doit à nos yeux s’accompagner de recherches approfondies dans les domaines de la traduction, du patrimoine, des pratiques pédagogiques et scientifiques et des humanités numériques. Cela implique à la fois des recherches techniques en informatique et en sciences de l’information appliquées aux langues et aux cultures et à leur enseignement-apprentissage dans les pays arabes, mais également une réflexion analytique et critique sur le patrimoine méditerranéen et oriental, notamment arabe, ses textes et discours et leur appréciation par les récépteurs des différentes langues-cultures. Il s’agit là d’un domaine de recherche relativement nouveau en ce qui concerne les langues et les cultures, et d’un important défi à relever.

Titled Haunted Archives of Livingness: Visual Culture and the Politics of Care in the Age of Ecological Entanglement, this year’s edition invites reflections on how contemporary artistic practices engage with ecological, political, and affective entanglements through archival thinking. In light of deepening environmental crises and social inequalities, the archive emerges not only as a site of memory and power but as a porous and generative terrain—an unstable corpus of living matter in constant metamorphosis. The conference aims to examine how artists, researchers, and cultural practitioners mobilize photography and visual media to activate archives that are haunted by histories of violence, yet reanimated through care, resistance, and speculative reimaginings.

Rome’s conquest of Italy wrecked the existing political environment. This struggle involved Greeks, peoples of Central Italy, Gauls, Etruscans, and shaped the Mediterranean world, giving the historical base on which our own was built. Yet, it remains not fully understood. Through a multidisciplinary analysis integrating archaeological and historical sources, this conference aims to investigate the transformation of power dynamics—military, economic, and social—and their impact on both urban centres and peripheral territories.

L’exposition Paris Noir en cours au musée national d’art moderne se pense comme un jalon pour une réécriture de l’histoire de l’art globale et décentrée, tout en s’inscrivant dans une généalogie singulière, propre au Centre Pompidou, et qui met en lumière les circulations artistiques entre Paris et d’autres capitales. Ce projet pour l’histoire de l’art en France est également au cœur des préoccupations des historiennes et critiques d’art que la journée d’étude Revisiter Paris Noir souhaite rassembler. Cet événement organisé par des doctorantes du CRAL/EHESS se veut donc une mise en perspective critique et historique de l’exposition, à partir de son architecture conceptuelle et d’œuvres présentées dans son parcours, à travers les interventions de jeunes chercheuses et d’un débat ouvert au public.
