Labour Transformations. From Liberalism to Corporatism (1850-1945)
II NETCOR Congress
Four years after the foundation of NETCOR at NOVA FCSH, in Lisbon, and after several interdisciplinary meetings and congresses held in recent years in several participating research centres that were the founders of this Network, in Europe and Brazil, the II NETCOR Congress is announced. The theme of this first edition of the Biennal Congress, of an international and interdisciplinary nature, is devoted to labour transformations and aims to discuss theoretical and empirical explanations of the changing nature of labour organization and labour regimes in the contemporary period, from 1850 to 1945.

On 13, 14 and 15 November 2019, the II International Congress of Young Researchers in Middle Ages (ICYRMA) will take place at the University of Évora, Portugal. ICYRMA is destinated to students at master, doctoral and postdoctoral level and/or to those who have obtained their academic degrees in the last five years. It aims to be an interdisciplinary space for dissemination, discussion and contact among young researchers who study the Middle Ages from various perspectives: history, archeology, art history, literature, philosophy, philology, anthropology, ethnology, sociology, geography, methodology, among other areas.

As I Jornadas Ibero Americanas de Jovens Investigadores em Património Industrial surgem a partir da necessidade de criar um espaço de encontro e de promoção das investigações e metodologias dos trabalhos promovidos por jovens investigadores neste campo de estudo patrimonial. A criação de fóruns, debates e espaços de reflexão, é muito importante para dar visibilidade à investigação, para partilhar conhecimentos e estabelecer redes de colaboração e para sensibilizar os jovens, em particular os jovens investigadores de Património Industrial, para a sua importância na sociedade actual, como novo recurso e oportunidade de trabalho e emprego.

Publication of books in e-book format
Centro Interdisciplinar de História, Culturas e Sociedades (CIDEHUS) has a collection of books with peer review: Biblioteca: Estudos e Colóquios – intended to the publication of monographic works. This collection has an international scientific committee and an editorial committee, in addition to an adviser. Every year, this collection makes an open call to the academic community in general and not only to the members of CIDEHUS for publication purposes. This is the 2018 call. The works, however, will almost assuredly only be published in 2019.

How did the Iberian monarchies conceive, if they did so, the rights of native populations in their decision-making processes and in their juridical architecture? With what tools and with what objectives did the Iberian crowns regulate the encounters and relations between native and European populations? How did colonial encounters influence the political, theological and cultural discussion on the rights of peoples, on the rights of ‘others’, and even on human rights? How did these relations influence the gradual definition of borders and frontiers in colonial territories? How did colonial institutions and legal regulations relate with the political and economic objectives of both empire-building processes? ...

Web of knowledge – A look into the past, embracing the future
The congress aims to bring together researchers and scientists from different backgrounds intersecting with the social sciences revealing the visible and invisible networks. By fostering the exchange of knowledge and experiences in the study of the past, the congress expects to lay the framework for the present day science on which to map the future web of knowledge. This congress intends to meditate on science, and to understand how it is being constructed nowadays. Our focus is to approach questions such as: How do we do/communicate science, immediate science, open access, intellectual property, bioethics, cultural heritage, among others.

Biographical and Intellectual History of Science, Technology and Innovation
Philosophical perspectives and political visions
This is an International Conference of advanced training and postgraduate education and research in the History of Science field, although following an interdisciplinary and collaborative perspective, open to a specialized public as well as other interested and general public. Our main purpose is to value the biographical methodology approach in academic training and scholarly research, not just for the historiographic practice, where it is of increasing interest the conjunction between History of Science and Intellectual History, but also with regard to broader contexts of production and incorporation of knowledge both by the concerned communities and by a socially and publicly responsible society.

The role of health and social welfare policies in European inclusion and exclusion processes
Health risks created by population movement, and policy responses to them, have been an integral part of European history since the early modern period. They have helped to shape wider cultural ideas on economic risks, attitudes to integration, and enlargement of the EU. Twenty first century Europe is addressing new questions and challenges: how to live together, and include new territories and new populations and cultures without compromising our health, both personal and economic. These have contemporary policy implications. Our aim is to contribute to a deeper understanding of the cultural heritages and roots of the European welfare model.

Palaces and Urban Dynamics: Centers of power and knowledge in Europe
Palácios e dinâmicas urbanas: centros de poder e de conhecimento na Europa
The European palaces established more than mere residences of monarchs, princes, cardinals, aristocrats and bourgeois. They were centers of power, solid social and political symbols, and also production centers for culture, arts and science. On the other hand, they played a fundamental role by motivating the renovation and expansion of cities. In a broad sense, we can consider the palace as a center that marked not only the inner spaces, but also its surroundings. Starting from this premise and taking the opportunity of the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of the construction of the so called Palácio de D. Manuel in Évora, this is the ideal context for organizing this international conference.

Patrimoines et mémoires de la mer
La chaire UNESCO en Patrimoine immatériel et savoir-faire traditionnel : Lier patrimoines propose d’explorer la problématique liée à la mer sous de nouveaux angles, notamment celui du patrimoine et ceux qui ont façonné nos identités culturelles. L’accent est mis sur les aspects sociaux et multiculturels de la mer, les cultures de la pêche, les structures industrielles et architecturelles, et les objets archéologiques. Sans exclure d'autres régions, une attention particulière sera donnée à des endroits où la culture portugaise a établi des racines. Nous cherchons à favoriser des nouveaux supports, notamment les carnets de voyage, les dessins, les correspondances, la littérature et les photographies, tous représentant des aspects du patrimoine immatériel.

À l’occasion du centenaire de la naissance d’Albert Camus, ce colloque se propose d’ouvrir une réflexion transdisciplinaire sur l’oeuvre et la pensée d’un écrivain, philosophe, homme de théâtre et journaliste qui ont marqué le paysage intellectuel mondial de l’après-guerre.

El Mediterráneo y el Sul Ibérico e la Época Medieval: Cultura, Identidad y Patrimonio (Siglos V-XV)
El congreso internacional “El Mediterráneo y el Sul Ibérico e la Época Medieval: Cultura, Identidad y Patrimonio. Siglos V - XV” tendrá lugar en Évora los días 5 y 6 de diciembre de 2013, en recuerdo del año 913, cuando se saqueó la urbe alentejana por el futuro rey Orduño II. El principal objetivo del encuentro es reunir jóvenes investigadores y especialistas nacionales y extranjeros, de áreas tan diversas como la Arqueología, la Historia, la Historia del Arte, la Literatura o la Antropología, u otras que se dediquen al estudio de temáticas relacionadas con el Sur ibérico en Época Medieval. Se pretende con ello -desde una perspectiva multidisciplinar- analizar las relaciones de proximidad y afinidades que existieron en el contexto medieval entre las regiones más meridionales de la Península Ibérica y del espacio mediterráneo, así como incluir cualquiera otras temáticas relacionadas con otros aspectos específicos del Arte, de la Historia Económica, Política y Social, o de la Cultura y de las mentalidades del Sur Ibérico, siempre y cuando las mismas se integren en el ámbito cronológico aquí abordado.
