La pandémie de la Covid-19 et les mesures restrictives de distanciation physique et de confinement affectent les liens sociaux et familiaux. Ces contraintes obligent les personnes à repenser leurs relations familiales et de couple, la gestion des temps familiaux et professionnels, leurs relations intergénérationnelles, ainsi que les transitions de vie. Exacerbant les tensions de la vie conjugale et familiale ou renforçant ces liens, cette pandémie offre aussi l’occasion de réfléchir à de nouvelles stratégies du vivre-ensemble.

Due to the exponential increase in the cybercriminality phenomena, the development of huge investments in digitalization, the adoption of a law on cyber security and cybercriminality, as well as a national policy of cyber security, Cameroon has become a new center of gravity and reference of cyber security in Central Africa ; even if knowledge on the phenomenon is still fragmentary. Prior to the opening of a Professional Master on cyber security and security governance at the University of Dschang, this colloquium is geared towards reflecting on the complexity and the stakes of cyber security. It enables a complementary cross-view of issues of mutual interest with regards to the question of cyber security.

The Caribbean against the Covid19: A global crisis and local solutions

Officially affected by the COVID19 pandemic in early March 2020, the Caribbean Basin is concerned about the fragility of its social fabric and the wide disparities in public health policies from one State to another, which make a comprehensive response at the regional level impossible. The situation worsened at the end of May with the withdrawal of US funding to the World Health Organization (WHO), finally condemning the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), an emblematic figure in the fight against epidemics in the islands and on the continent, to a drastic reduction in its interventions, or even its disappearance. In this way, this issue seeks to respond to various concerns about the regional impact of the pandemic, around the central issue: to what extent the economic, political and/or social impact hovers around unresolved points in the construction of Caribbean Nation-States that prevent them from facing the crisis.

Ce congrès invite plus largement à questionner par une approche pluridisciplinaire notre manière « d’habiter » le monde (Boni, 2018), et notre rapport à l’autre, à l’aune des bouleversements contemporains.

Urban planning and the principle of equality in Africa
Today, the African city is far from offering equivalent conditions and opportunities to all its inhabitants and many Africans found it difficult to access urban life. Social inequalities are becoming more and more spatial, and both strengthen each other to favour devastating territorial segregation regimes and spaces of violence, pollution, congestion and lawlessness. In terms of justice and equity, many cities and neighbourhoods suffer under an urban disorder, an infernal mechanism of informal housing, poor housing, difficult accessibility, and a very poor quality of the urban environment. In the name of the right to the city, one is entitled to build his dwelling, to invent his habitat anywhere, no matter how whenever the authority is failing. And yet, the inhabitants of these «informal» facilities are not entitled to the city: their city is not theirs.

The City, the Media and Gentrification: Actors, Discourses and Representations
Partant de l’hypothèse que les médias sont des émetteurs de discours et de représentations, ce colloque vise à interroger leur rôle en tant qu’acteur au sein de la sphère publique dans le domaine de la gentrification. Le terme « médias » sera entendu au sens large, tous les médias étant susceptibles d’aborder la question de la gentrification. On pense de façon non limitative aux médias traditionnels (presse écrite, radio, télévision), aux nouveaux médias (les extensions de la presse traditionnelle : presse numérique, podcasts, blogs, etc.) et aux réseaux sociaux (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.). Il s’agira de discuter des articulations disciplinaires possibles (sociologique, architecturale, urbanistique, linguistique, etc.) entre médias et processus de gentrification.

Making public policy in Africa
Ce colloque est issu du programme de recherche FAPPA (Faire des politiques publiques en Afrique. Action publique et opérationnalisation : cadrage de la recherche et appui aux acteurs de la Nouvelle-Aquitaine impliqués dans des programmes d’action publique sur le continent africain). Ce programme de recherche consistait à étudier et à comparer les processus de négociation, de formulation et de mise en œuvre des politiques publiques dans six pays (Maroc, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Tanzanie, Madagascar et Mozambique) et quatre secteurs d’action publique (gestion des ressources naturelles, politiques de la ville, réforme de l’éducation et politiques sociales). Le colloque consistera à diffuser, parmi les chercheurs en sciences sociales et les praticiens de l’action publique présents, les principaux résultats accumulés pendant les quatre années de recherche (2017-2021), d’en effectuer le bilan et de dégager de nouvelles pistes de réflexion.

Furthermore, it explores the prospects which may be unlocked for future professionals through learning different skills and values which foster equal opportunities for both genders in leadership and in the labour market, eventually and hopefully resulting in an equitable, unbiased, and fair labour culture for all.

Politique américaine, fondée en 2005, est une revue biannuelle (mars – septembre), au croisement de la science politique (rang A – Aeres) et des études américaines. Elle rassemble, de manière non limitative, des spécialistes de la vie politique nord-américaine, de relations internationales et des médias. La revue rend compte, dans une perspective critique de sciences sociales, des multiples facettes de la vie publique aux États-Unis et au Canada.

Social Justice in Times of Uncertainty takes as a starting point the health pandemic that erupted in 2020, which led societies across the world to cope with disruptions in the provisioning of goods and services, means of livelihood, and fundamental freedom – not least, that of movement. The crisis also revealed global and local inequalities, translated into who has the right to live or not, and raised new questions around (in)justice in the contemporary world. In light of the turmoil experienced, as a globalized society and within our communities, this congress emphasizes the relevance of social and environmental justice in the making of a fair society, asking the question: in times of uncertainty, what does it mean to live a good life in a just society?

The current state of moralisation in capitalism

Dans un contexte global où les inégalités économiques atteignent de nouveaux sommets et engendrent des perceptions d’injustices cruelles et insolubles pour les acteurs individuels et collectifs quel que soit leur pays, le capitalisme semble, aux yeux d’une grande majorité, entaché d’une immoralité croissante. Dans le même moment, les déclarations visant la moralisation du marché et de la finance se développent et s’intensifient dans une perspective qui viserait à atténuer les maux présents, sans être suivies d’effets concrets. Par cet appel à articles, L’Homme et la Société souhaite engager le débat sur les transformations présentes qui, sous couvert de moralisation du capitalisme, découragent, démobilisent et en fin de compte démoralisent les possibles vers une autre société.

Nous souhaitons interroger les façons différenciées dont les individus « à former et à reformer » intériorisent, rejettent ou composent avec les injonctions à se former. Ceci conduit en particulier à interroger les modes de réception de ces injonctions à l’aune de l’expérience vécue par des salariés et par des demandeurs d’emploi en fonction de leur âge, de leur genre, de leur qualification, de leur parcours biographique (dans la formation initiale et dans l’emploi notamment) et de leurs aléas (licenciements, maladies, handicaps).

À l’aube du démantèlement de la plus ancienne centrale nucléaire de France et après le débat national sur les modes de gestion des déchets nucléaires (PNG-MDR) et de la programmation de la politique énergétique (PPE), quels sont les principaux défis ou contraintes auxquels un territoire qui se désengage de l’atome doit faire face ? Il n’existe aujourd’hui que peu de recherche dédiée au devenir d’un territoire qui s’engage dans le démantèlement et encore moins des analyses comparatives entre pays. C'est à cela que tente de combler le présent appel à contribution de la revue VertigO.

Heritages values of 20th century architecture: what recognition?
Critical review and international forward-looking vision
The heritage values of 20th century architecture, whether they be cultural, social or technical, remain relatively complex to assess, and thus to share, due to lack of perspective and knowledge. The architectural and urban production of the second half of the 20th century was particularly prolific, sometimes remarkable, even exceptional. The energy, ecological transition, the changing habits and lifestyles are leading to the gradual transformation of this built heritage reaching to the end of its life cycle. Since the 1990-2000’s, a movement for heritage making has developed, which leads to many questions relating to possible and desirable developments of these architectural achievements. This issue of In Situ seeks to take a European or international critical perspective on the architecture of the 20th century and to highlight doctrines and positions adopted, practices and examples of schemes, policies or projects.

Six ans plus tard, et à la suite de la loi du 14 mars 2016 relative à la protection de l’enfance, la revue Les Cahiers du Travail Social souhaite interroger à nouveau la pertinence des dispositifs mis en place pour assurer l’accueil et l’accompagnement éducatif et social de ces jeunes personnes désormais appelées mineurs non accompagnés (MNA).

Censorship and blind spots: the BBC’s silences
The BBC's reputation for impartiality and independence is one of the cornerstones of its value system, which also underpins its self-declared mission to "inform, educate, and entertain". However, these values have constantly been redefined as several forms of censorship and self-censorship have been applied in the context of conflict with political or economic powers. This means that the role and independence of the BBC as a public service needs to be questioned and the grey areas and silences of the BBC from its creation in 1922 to the beginning of its digital era in 1995 need to be the objects of inquiry.

Cet appel à contribution pour le colloque Fabrique politique de l’École, fabrique scolaire du politique vise à la fois à établir un bilan d’étape des recherches sur l’institution scolaire ancrées ou inspirées par la sociologie politique et la sociologie de l’action publique, et à renouveler des chantiers de recherche diversement développés. L’optique de l’organisation de cet événement scientifique est résolument ancrée dans la recherche empirique, avec des outils sociologiques généralistes mais également une volonté de dialogue avec la sociologie de l’éducation.

Health: New Challenges for Development
« Revue internationale des études du développement », n°247 (2021-3)
A call for papers on health and development cannot but mention the current pandemic crisis. While international aid in the health sector has been rather stagnant of late, the Covid-19 pandemic could put health and infectious diseasesback at the heart of long-run priorities, particularly in countries of the South. While the African continent remains relatively unaffected, low-income countries share several characteristics: fragile and poorly funded healthcare systems that currently seem to be coping nonetheless, as well as a significant burden due to endemic health problems, including non communicable diseases. An integrated, unified approach to public and environmental health at different scales therefore seems more necessary than ever, especially in the context of climate change. This global crisis therefore provides new opportunities to better interlink the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and rethink the health and development nexus.
