The highlight of the Seoul IGC is the Scientific Program that will feature Symposia, Plenary Sessions, and Technical Sessions, covering virtually every aspect of theoretical and applied geographic research. The Congress will also offer special sessions and workshops that will provide state-of-the-art information and future directions in geographic research and education. Before the Main Congress, members may participate in the Pre-congress meetings of some 20 IGU Commissions and Study Groups. Most of the other Commissions and Study Groups will have their meetings during the Main Congress as parts of the Scientific Program (Technical Sessions or Special Sessions designated with s*). Participants are also encouraged to take part in various Pre- and Post-congress Scientific Field Trips.
