H-HISTORY-AND-THEORY
H-NET LIST ON THE PHILOSOPHY OF HISTORY
Sponsored by
H-Net, Humanities & Social Sciences On-line, Michigan State University
and the journal HISTORY AND THEORY
H-HISTORY-AND-THE0RY is sponsored by the journal, HISTORY AND THEORY,
with the objective of increasing and broadening communication among its
readers and those interested in the topics discussed in its pages: critical
philosophy of history; speculative philosophy of history;
historiography; history of historiography; historical methodology;
critical theory; time and culture; related disciplines. The list will
be integrated with our print volumes in a variety of productive ways. You
are invited to visit the journal's website:
http://www.historyandtheory.org
for information about the journal, including current and past issues.
The H-HISTORY-AND-THEORY list is co-edited by Brian Fay, William
Griffin Professor of Philosophy, Wesleyan University and Executive
Editor, HISTORY AND THEORY, bfay@mail.wesleyan.edu; Julia Perkins,
administrative editor, HISTORY AND THEORY, jperkins@mail.wesleyan.edu. The
editors serve two-year renewable terms, with the approval of the H-Net
Executive Committee and rotate their duties. The current editor will be
identified in all messages coming from the list. The editors will
solicit postings (by email, phone and even by regular mail), will
assist people in managing subscriptions and setting up options, will
handle routine inquiries, and will consolidate some postings. Anyone
with suggestions about what H-HISTORY-AND-THEORY can and might do is
invited to send in ideas. The editors will solicit and post
newsletter-type information (calls for conferences, for example, or
listings of sessions at conventions.)
H-HISTORY-AND-THEORY is free and open to anyone with a serious and
abiding interest in the subject. Like all H-Net lists,
H-HISTORY-AND-THEORY is moderated to edit out material that, the
editors' opinion, is not germane to the list, involves technical
matters (such as subscription management requests), is inflammatory, or
violates evolving, yet common, standards of Internet etiquette.
Message logs and more information about H-HISTORY-AND-THEORY may be
