Summary
Depuis son Invención de América, en 1958, combien d’essais et de travaux sont des réponses plus ou moins directes à l’intervention d’Edmundo O’Gorman (1906-1995) dans la recherche historique ? Que ce soit sur les chroniques du Nouveau monde, sur la lecture européenne de l’histoire coloniale ou sur le sens de l’histoire américaine jusqu’à des dates plus récentes, les travaux du grand historien mexicain font preuve d’une actualité inaltérée. Afin de combler un manque de visibilité regrettable en dehors du Mexique, ce colloque explorera les multiples dimensions d’une œuvre décisive, à mi-chemin entre histoire et philosophie.
