Resumen
The Geneva School of Business Administration (HEG-Geneva) offers a Research Assistant (Doctoral student) position for three years starting from 1st September 2013.The doctoral student will participate to the project « Organizing, Communicating, and Costing in Risk Governance: Learning Lessons from the H1N1 Pandemic », financed by the Swiss National Science Foundation. He or she will be in charge of the research components dedicated to costing around H1N1. This comparative study will involve qualitative fieldwork in three countries, namely Switzerland, the United States and Japan. He or she will collaborate with a post-doctoral fellow focusing on issues related to organization and communication. He or she will have to write a PhD thesis on H1N1 costing issues and will be supervised by Prof. Nathalie Brender. The project is funded for three years.

Description du poste / Description of the position
The Geneva School of Business Administration (HEG-Geneva) offers a Research Assistant (Doctoral student) position for three years starting from 1st September 2013.
The doctoral student will participate to the project « Organizing, Communicating, and Costing in Risk Governance: Learning Lessons from the H1N1 Pandemic », financed by the Swiss National Science Foundation. He or she will be in charge of the research components dedicated to costing around H1N1. Particularité du poste d’assistant-e HES :
- Une partie du temps (25% du taux d’activité) est consacrée à l’approfondissement de la formation personnelle (formation post-grade ou conduite d’un projet de recherche personnel) / Part of the working time is devoted to own professional training (e.g. enrolment in a post-graduate program or conduct of a research project).
Qualifications et experiences / Required qualifications and experience
- Master degree in Public Health Economics, Economics or Management, or equivalent, with a special interest in global health and risk governance
- Areas of expertise: cost-effectiveness / cost-utility analysis
- Empirical research experience
- Skills in qualitative methods, in particular interviewing (preparation, conduct and analysis) and documentary analysis
- Skills in quantitative methods, in particular cost-effectiveness analysis
- International experience, especially in North America and/or in Asia
- Excellent scientific writing
- Proficiency in Excel and databases
- Proficiency in social sciences software such as Atlas Ti, NVIVO and/or SPSS
- Languages : English, French, some knowledge of Japanese appreciated
