Le 1^er congrès international Jean-Baptiste Say a pour objet de réactualiser les approches en histoire de la pensée économique dans le domaine des révolutions industrielles et des paradigmes sociotechniques, mais également d’observer comment les traditions nationales, les contextes particuliers, les époques, ont pu marquer le développement de la théorie dans ces domaines. Il est composé de deux parties : un colloque qui accueille des chercheurs intéressés par les théories de l’innovation et des cycles longs ; et une école d’été qui s’adresse plus particulièrement aux doctorants et aux jeunes chercheurs dont les travaux portent sur les différentes approches de l’entrepreneuriat, l’innovation, la croissance et le développement de nouvelles pratiques économiques et sociales. Les participants concernés peuvent être des chercheurs en économie, en management, en histoire et en sociologie.

The 1^st SAYS Congress aims to update the approaches of the history of economic thought in the fields of industrial revolutions and the sociotechnical paradigms, as well as to observe how national traditions, specific contexts, and epochs have marked the development of theory in these fields, to begin with the discussion of the theories of the 18th and 19th centuries and their extensions to the contemporary theories of sustainable development. It consists of 1) an international conference where the theories of Jean-Baptiste Say will be at the heart of scientific presentations and discussions; and 2) a summer school will give a specifical place to doctoral students and young researchers who works on entrepreneurship, innovation, growth and development of new economic and social practices (information and knowledge economy/society, social economy, etc.).

Le premier congrès international Jean-Baptiste Say a pour objet de réactualiser les approches en histoire de la pensée économique dans le domaine des révolutions industrielles et des paradigmes sociotechniques, mais également d’observer comment les traditions nationales, les contextes particuliers, les époques, ont pu marquer le développement de la théorie dans ces domaines. • La pensée économique du progrès technique : des Classiques à la systémique de l’innovation
• Innovation et cycles économiques : révolution industrielle par bond ou continue
• Histoires d’entrepreneurs et d’inventions ou l’application de la science à l’économie : l’innovation
• Les paradigmes sociotechniques au fil des révolutions industrielles : de la grande industrie à la « nouvelle économie » : économie des services, de l’information et de la connaissance, de l’environnement…
• Révolution industrielle, mutations du travail et nouvelles formes d’organisations sociales de la production : de la société salariale à la société entrepreneuriale, quelles solidarités, quelle créativité ?
• Révolutions industrielles et localisation des activités innovantes : effets de proximité, d’agglomération, d’échelle, de variété, de diffusion, d’appropriation et d’accumulation
• Les ressorts de la (re)industrialisation et la transition socio-économique : nouvelles activités, changement social, politiques actives (coercitives ou d’accompagnement ?)

Organisation

Le congrès SAYS est composé de deux parties :

• un colloque international qui accueillera des chercheurs intéressés par les théories de l’innovation et des cycles longs où les thèses de Jean-Baptiste Say seront au coeur des présentations et des discussions scientifiques ;

• une école d’été qui s’adressera plus particulièrement aux doctorants et aux jeunes chercheurs dont les travaux portent sur les différentes approches de l’entrepreneuriat, de l’innovation, de la croissance et du développement de nouvelles pratiques économiques et sociales (économie et société de l’information et de la connaissance, économie sociale et solidaire, etc.).

Les comparaisons historiques et internationales sont les bienvenues. Le congrès étant pluridisciplinaire, les participants concernés peuvent être des chercheurs en économie, en management, en histoire et en sociologie.

Le Congrès proposera des sessions plénières avec des conférenciers invités, des sessions spéciales autour de thématiques phares, des sessions posters dédiées spécifiquement aux doctorants en début de thèse. Une table ronde conclura les trois journées. Ces quatre jours seront agrémentés d’évènements culturels permettant de prolonger les discussions dans une atmosphère détendue. Le samedi 30 août sera exclusivement dédié à des activités culturelles.

Argument

The financial and monetary crises that have repeatedly taken place since the early 1990s, and in particular the crisis in the euro zone, have brought to the forefront the issues of industrialisation, the place of goods and services industry within economies, innovation as well as economic and social progress. The 1^st SAYS Congress aims to update the approaches of the history of economic thought in the fields of industrial revolutions and the sociotechnical paradigms and to observe how national traditions, specific contexts, and epochs have marked the development of theory in these fields, to begin with the discussion of the theories of the 18th and 19th centuries and their extensions to the contemporary theories of sustainable development.

1. Theories and multiple realities of entrepreneurship: Jean-Baptiste Say, forerunner of the triumph of entrepreneur
2. Theories of production and of the nature- production relations, from Jean-Baptiste Say to sustainable development

Organization

The first International Congress Jean-Baptiste Say is open to researchers and gives a substantial place to the works of doctoral students. It consists of 1) an international conference where the theories of Jean-Baptiste Say will be at the heart of scientific presentations and discussions; and 2) a summer school will give a specifical place to doctoral students and young researchers who works on entrepreneurship, innovation, growth and development of new economic and social practices (information and knowledge economy/society, social economy, etc.).

The Congress will feature plenary sessions with invited speakers, special sessions around key themes, poster sessions specifically dedicated to early-stage doctoral students. A round table will conclude the three days. These four days will be accompanied with cultural events to extend the discussions in a relaxed atmosphere. The Saturday August 30th will be exclusively dedicated to cultural activities.
