Le CAA (Computers Applications & Quantitative Methods in Archaeology) permet de présenter les nouvelles méthodologies ainsi que les innovations technologiques dans les domaines de l’informatique, les statistiques et les modélisations mathématiques appliquées à l’archéologie et au-delà car il concerne aussi l’histoire et la valorisation du patrimoine.

Un de ses objectifs est d'encourager la communication entre ces disciplines.

Le CAA est un congrès international organisé sous l'égide de l'association CAA international  (http://caa-international.org/). Il a lieu tous les ans depuis 42 ans. Il se tient depuis quelque temps une année sur deux seulement en Europe (le CAA 2013 a eu lieu en Australie).

Cette conférence est organisée par l’université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne au centre Panthéon, 12 place du Panthéon, durant les vacances de Pâques 2014 (du 22 au 25 avril).

Programme

Le programme comprend 27 sessions, 15 tables rondes et 12 workshops portant sur une douzaine de thèmes, 6 à 7 sessions se déroulant en parallèle.

Des excursions sont également organisées en fin de congrès.
