Presentation and argument
The Post Screen 2014 is an International Festival of Art, New Media and Cybercultures to be held annually, in Lisbon and will be the first edition of several international meetings related to the use of screens and its impact on contemporary thought. The Festival will be organized under the Cyberart Branch of the Centre for Research and Studies in Fine Arts (CIEBA) and will be held at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon (FBAUL).
The PSF2014 aims to bring together a group of experts in diverse fields of research and artistic practice and to promote interdisciplinary discussion and exhibition of creative productions on emerging issues around multiple forms of screen practices, considering its evolution throughout history, the circumstances in which it was used, its inherent aesthetic and technological language in an artistic, social, cultural and technological context.
The 2014 edition will be subordinate to the general theme, Device, Medium and Concept, on which intends to discuss the specifics of these aspects and their intersections within the art, technology and the social behaviors mediated by screens.
The Festival will have a theoretical, practical and training component, through a cycle of conferences, an exhibition of artworks in a virtual gallery and workshops through which enables access to new artistic practices and creative processes with use of new media.
Cycle of Conferences
The cycle of conferences aims at the presentation and discussion of topics concerning the relationship between the universe of art, digital technologies and virtual universe based on screens proposed by several authors, and will take place at the premises of the Faculty of fine arts of the University of Lisbon.
Group Exhibition - Virtual Gallery
The PSF2014 will include an exhibition of artworks to be presented at a Virtual Gallery accessible online through the official website of the event. This group exhibition will present a set of artworks that stand out within the video, photography, cyberart, digital installations, dance, music, and other artistic expressions that use technology, cyberspace and screens.
Workshops
These workshops are designed for the general public, especially those who have an interest in acquiring basic knowledge or expand their technical skills, according to the level of education of the syllabus developed by the teacher . The workshops will be held during the week of the festival at FBAUL facilities. The festival will feature 6 workshops exploring a variety of art media, art techniques, grade levels, and audiences.

Review and selection process
The papers will be reviewed through a double blind reviewing process by the International Board.
The art projects will be selected through a single blind reviewing process (only the curator will know the identity of the artist) by the members of the Curatorial Committee.

Apresentação
O Festival Pós-Ecrã 2014 é um Festival Internacional de Arte, Novos Media e Ciberulturas e será a primeira edição de várias reuniões internacionais relacionadas com a utilização de ecrãs e o seu impacto no pensamento contemporâneo. O Festival é organizado pela secção de Ciberarte do Centro de Investigação e Estudos Belas Artes (CIEBA) e realizado anualmente na Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de Lisboa (FBAUL).
O Festival tem como objectivo reunir um conjunto de especialistas em diversos campos de investigação e da prática artística e com isso promover a discussão interdisciplinar e mostra de produções criativas sobre questões emergentes em torno de múltiplas formas de práticas do ecrã, considerando a sua evolução ao longo da história, a circunstância em que foi utilizado, a linguagem estética e tecnológica que lhe é inerente, partindo sempre do contexto artístico, social, cultural e tecnológico.
A edição de 2014 será subordinado ao tema geral Dispositivo, Medium e Conceito, sobre o qual se pretende discutir as especificidades destes aspectos e as suas intersecções no âmbito da arte, da tecnologia e dos comportamentos sociais mediados por ecrãs.
O evento terá uma componente teórica, prática e formativa, apresentando-se através de um ciclo de conferências, uma mostra de trabalhos artísticos numa galeria virtual e workshops através dos quais se possibilita o acesso a formação sobre novas práticas artísticas e processos criativos com recurso aos novos media.
Ciclo de Conferências
O ciclo de conferências tem como objectivo a apresentação e discussão de temas atinentes à relação entre o universo da arte e o universo das tecnologias digitais e virtuais baseadas em ecrãs propostos por diversos autores, tendo lugar nas instalações da Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de Lisboa.
Exposição colectiva - Galeria Virtual
O Festival Pós-Ecrã 2014 irá incluir uma mostra de trabalhos artísticos cujo espaço expositivo será uma galeria virtual acessível online através do site oficial do evento. Esta exposição colectiva irá apresentar um conjunto de trabalhos artísticos que se destaquem no âmbito do vídeo, da fotografia, da ciberarte, de instalações digitais, dança, música, e outras formas de expressão artística que utilizem a tecnologia, o ciberespeço e os ecrãs.
Workshops
Estas formações serão destinadas ao público em geral, sobretudo aqueles que tenham interesse em adquirir conhecimentos-base ou aprofundar competências técnicas de acordo com o nível de ensino dos conteúdos programáticos desenvolvidos pelos formadores. Os workshops serão ministrados durante a semana do Festival nas instalações da FBAUL.
