Publicado el mercredi 12 de novembre de 2014

Resumen

This is a call for papers for the 29th Annual Conference of the UK and Ireland Society for the Study of French History. This conference will take place at the University of St Andrews, Scotland, UK, on 28th-30th June 2015, and will be hosted by the university’s Centre for French History and Culture. The theme of the plenary sessions will be “Turning Points in French History”. This theme has been chosen because of the number of significant anniversaries that fall in 2015 (1415 Azincourt, 1515 accession of François Ier, 1615 closing of Estates General until 1789, 1715 death of Louis XIV and accession of Louis XV, 1815 end of the Napoleonic era, 1940 fall of France).

Presentation and argument

We are inviting proposals for papers on any subject in French history or France-related history

Alongside this there will be parallel sessions on themes to be decided, depending upon proposals received.

Proposals and submission guidelines

Proposals for panels are as welcome as individual paper proposals. It is expected that papers delivered next June will be between 20 and 30 minutes, depending on panel size.

Please send proposals for panels or individual papers for the parallel sessions

by 30th November 2014

to the Centre for French History and Culture at the following email address:

PROPOSALS FOR PAPERS SHOULD COME IN WORD DOCUMENTS, AND INCLUDE:

  • A BRIEF CURRICULUM VITAE OF UP TO ONE SIDE OF A4;
  • A SYNOPSIS OF NO MORE THAN 250 WORDS.

Proposals for an entire panel (max. 3 speakers plus chair) can be collated in a single document.
