Résumé
The University of Zurich invites applications for the position of an assistant professor tenure track in Early Modern History including Swiss History. The position is in Early Modern History (ca. 1500–1850). It is desirable that the successful candidate participates in the establishment of a lab for Digital History.
An der Universität Zürich ist auf den 1. Februar 2019 eine Assistenzprofessur mit Tenure Trackfür Allgemeine und Schweizer Geschichte der Frühen Neuzeit zu besetzen. Nach zwei Anstellungsperioden von jeweils drei Jahren erfolgt im Fall einer positiven Evaluation im Rahmen eines Tenure-Verfahrens die Beförderung auf eine entfristete Professur.

Expected profile
Candidates should hold a PhD degree and have an excellent record of academic achievements and university teaching experience in the relevant field. Non-German speaking candidates are expected to acquire a professional knowledge of German within the first three years of appointment. In order to increase the number of women in leading academic positions, we specifically encourage women to apply.
The position should be filled by February 1, 2019. After two temporary three-year contracts the position will become tenured on the condition that the candidate passes the evaluation process.

Der Arbeitsbereich der Professur erstreckt sich auf die Epoche der Frühen Neuzeit (ca. 1500–1850). Die Beteiligung am Aufbau eines Lab für Digital History ist erwünscht.
Vorausgesetzt werden eine abgeschlossene Promotion, weitere exzellente wissenschaftliche Leistungen im relevanten Gebiet sowie universitäre Lehrerfahrung. Die Universität Zürich strebt eine Erhöhung des Frauenanteils in Forschung und Lehre an und bittet deshalb qualifizierte Wissenschaftlerinnen ausdrücklich um ihre Bewerbung.
