Présentation

La Fondation Maison des sciences de l’homme (FMSH) et l’Union des Universités de la Méditerranée (UNIMED) proposent une aide à la mobilité pour un séjour en France de 3 mois à un jeune chercheur confirmé originaire et résidant en Algérie, Egypte, Jordanie, Liban, Libye, Maroc, Palestine, Tunisie, et Syrie et rattachés à une des Université associées à UNIMED ;

Cette aide à la mobilité est destinée à réaliser des travaux de recherche en France : enquêtes de terrain, travail en bibliothèques et archives.

Cet appel s’inscrit dans le cadre du Programme Atlas de mobilité post-doctorale de courte durée lancé par la FMSH et ses partenaires.

Modalités financières 

Une aide de 5 000 euros est attribuée pour le séjour de 3 mois. Elle est destinée à couvrir les frais de transport et de séjour. En outre, la FMSH assure un soutien scientifique et logistique (mise à disposition d’un espace de travail, aide pour trouver un logement, lettres pour les bibliothèques, etc.).

Critères d’éligibilité 

  • Nationalité/résidence : Etre ressortissants d’Algérie, Egypte, Jordanie, Liban, Lybie, Maroc, Palestine, Tunisie, et Syrie et être rattachés à une des Université associées à UNIMED ;
  • Diplôme/statut : Etre post doctorant en SHS et avoir soutenu sa thèse à partir de 2012. Il n’y a pas de limite d’âge.
  • Discipline : Les candidats doivent être engagés dans des recherches en sciences humaines et sociales ou à la frontière entre les SHS et les autres sciences.
  • Langue : Maîtriser le français ou l’anglais en fonction du projet proposé.
  • Institution d’accueil : Les candidats doivent trouver une institution de recherche française qui assurera leur accueil scientifique pendant leur séjour en France. Lors de la candidature, les candidats devront fournir une lettre d’invitation signée par l’institution d’accueil et adressée à la FMSH et à UNIMED, dans laquelle l’institution d’accueil motive les raisons de l’invitation ainsi que les conditions de travail mises à disposition.

Obligations du chercheur  

Le chercheur devra remettre à la FMSH et à UNIMED, à l’issue de son séjour, un rapport entre 10 000 et 20 000 signes maximum (espaces et notes compris) présentant les activités réalisées pendant son séjour et leur apport pour son projet de recherche.

Dossier de candidature 

Les candidats doivent soumettre un formulaire et un dossier scientifique (projet de recherche + annexes) sur une plateforme en ligne. La plateforme en ligne sera accessible à partir du 19 février 2018. Les candidatures complètes devront être téléchargées sur la plateforme en ligne au plus tard le 30 avril 2018, 17:00 (heure de Paris).

Le formulaire et le dossier scientifique peuvent être soumis en français ou en anglais.

Contenu du dossier scientifique 

Le projet de recherche : Le projet de recherche consiste en un exposé entre 10 000 et 20 000 signes (espaces et notes compris) composé obligatoirement de :

  • la problématique et les objectifs du projet de recherche 
  • une bibliographie
  • le détail du programme de séjour (lieux et institutions à visiter, contacts)
Les annexes :
  • Un CV de maximum 2 pages
  • Une liste des publications
  • La copie du diplôme de la thèse
  • Une lettre du directeur de l’institution de rattachement dans le pays d’origine
  • Une lettre d’invitation du directeur de l’institution d’accueil en France motivant les raisons de l’invitation et les conditions de travail mises à disposition

Comment postuler

  1. Rendez-vous sur la plateforme http://calls.msh-paris.fr et entrez dans l’espace « Researcher Workspace » ;
  2. Identifiez-vous si vous avez déjà créé un compte, le cas échéant créez un compte ;
  3. Remplissez votre profil puis cliquez sur « create a new application » ;
  4. Sélectionnez l’appel : « Programme Atlas INCOMING ANNEE 2018», puis: « FMSH-UNIMED : Sud Méditerranée  > France » ;
  5. Remplissez tous les onglets d’information ;
6. Dans le dernier onglet « Documents », téléchargez sous forme d’un document électronique unique au format pdf, votre dossier de candidature qui sera composé des pièces suivantes :
  • Un projet de recherche
  • Un CV de maximum 2 pages
  • Une liste des publications
  • La copie du diplôme de la thèse
  • Une lettre du directeur de l’institution de rattachement
  • Une lettre d’invitation du directeur de l’institution de recherche d’accueil en France
  1. Vous pouvez sauvegarder votre candidature sans la soumettre pour y revenir plus tard ou la soumettre définitivement. Lorsque vous aurez soumis votre candidature, vous recevrez un email de confirmation. Attention, si votre candidature n’est pas soumise, elle ne sera pas étudiée.

Critères et processus de sélection

Un comité de sélection composé de membres de la FMSH, d’UNIMED et d’experts externes, analysera les candidatures au regard des éléments suivants :

  • La qualité du dossier scientifique et de la méthodologie développée
  • La pertinence de venir en France au regard du projet déposé et du parcours du candidat
  • La capacité à identifier des contacts scientifiques sur place
  • Les chercheurs n’ayant jamais bénéficié du dispositif seront privilégiés.

L’évaluation des candidatres sera assurée par un jury de sélection et les résultats seront communiqués aux candidatsdébut juin 2018

  • Ouverture de l’appel : 19 février 2018

  • Clôture de l’appel : 30 avril  2018 à 17 :00 (heure de Paris)

  • Analyse des candidatures : mai
  • Annonce des résultats : début juin 2018

This call is part of the Atlas short-term postdoctoral mobility programme offered by the FMSH and its partners.

Financial details

Laureates will receive a total stipend of 5 000 euros for a 3 months research stay. This financial contribution is intended to cover expenditure such as transport and accommodation costs. Besides, FMSH provides scientific and logistical assistance (working space, help for finding accommodation, letters to libraries…).

Eligibility criteria

  • Nationality: This program is open to researchers originating from Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Marocco, Palestine, Tunisia and Syria and affiliated to a University member of UNIMED.
  • Educational Degree: Applicants must have obtained their PhD doctorate and presented their thesis from 2012. There is no age limit.
  • Theme: Applicants must be involved in research in social sciences and humanities (SSH) or at the frontier between SSH and other sciences.
  • Language : French or English depending on the project.
  • French host institution: Before submitting their application, applicants will have to find a French research institution to host them for the time of their stay. Applicants will have to provide a letter from the hosting institution addressed to the FMSH and the UNIMED expressing the institution’s willingness to host the applicant during the time of fellowship and explaining the work conditions offered.

Researcher’s obligations

At the end of their stay, laureates will have to provide the FMSH and the UNIMED with a report from 10 000 to 20 000 characters (spaces and notes included) presenting the work done during their stay and the benefits for their research project.

Application procedure

Applicants will be required to submit an online application form and a scientific dossier (research project + appendices). The online application form will be available on the FMSH website as of February 15, 2018. Completed proposals can be uploaded to the application portal at any time before the application deadline of April 30, 2018, 17:00 (Paris time).

Online application and scientific dossier must be submitted in French or in English.

Content of scientific dossier

The research proposal: the research proposal should consist in a short presentation from 10 000 characters to 20 000 characters (spaces and references included) composed with:

  • State of art, problematic, objective and specific aim of the research project, methodology.
  • A bibliography
  • The detailed programme of the research stay (places and institutions to be visited, contacts, work plan).
Appendices :
  • A Curriculum vitae (2 pages maximum)
  • A list of publications
  • A copy of the PhD diploma
  • A letter from the director of the research institution in the country of origin
  • A letter of invitation from the director of the host research institution in France expressing the institution’s willingness to host the applicant during the time of fellowship and explaining the work conditions they can offer

How to apply?

  1. Reach the online application form and enter «Researcher Workspace».
  2. You have to be registered on the online platform in order to use it. If you haven’t created an account yet, you will be asked to.
  3. Create your profile by filling all your personal information and then enter “create a new application”.
  4. Select “Programme Atlas incoming 2018” and then the specific call « FMSH-UNIMED: South Mediterranean > France».
  5. Fill all the information tabs.
6. In the “Documents” final tab, you will need to upload your research proposal and the appendices into one single PDF document:
  • Research proposal
  • Curriculum vitae (2 pages maximum)
  • List of publications
  • Copy of the PhD diploma
  • Letter from the director of the research institution in Romania
  • Letter of invitation from the director of the host research institution in France
  1. You can save your application and complete it later several times if you wish, until the closure of the call for applications. Once you have submitted your application, you will no longer have the possibility to amend it. Once submitted, you will receive an automatic email confirming the submission. Applications not submitted, incomplete application forms or applications that do not match the above description will not be taken into account.

Evaluation process and criteria

A selection committee composed with members of FMSH, UNIMED and independent experts will analyse and proceed to final selection of applications regarding the following criteria:

  • The quality of the scientific dossier and the methodology developed
  • The relevance of a research stay in France regarding the scientific project and the candidate curricula
  • The ability to identify scientific contacts in France
  • Candidates that have never benefited from the programme will be prioritized.

Candidates will be informed by email of the results early June 2018.
