International Student Research Competition

Zusammenfassung
Russian Federal Educational and Methodological Association on Social Work calls for papers for International Student Research Competition. Social Work students (bachelor and master level) can take part in this competition.

Competition is held to identify and support the most talented and active students, to stimulate research and development of higher education on social work.
Research topic is social protection, which concept is very broad. This termin includes all measures of social support, provision, social services, all technologies and methods of social work, and activities of non-governmental social organizations, volunteers, communities, etc.
We are pleased to invite bachelors-winners to study on master-level here (profile - management in social work).
Also all papers will be published in university's magazin.
The winners of the competition are determined in 2 categories - bachelors and masters.
For both categories of winners prizes are: diplomas and internships in social organizations of Moscow on the topic of research.
Internships are possible after the end of coronavirus quarantine. Duration of internship is 1-3 weeks. At this time, accommodation in RSSU's dormitory is possible.
All papers will be published in university's magazin Contemporary Problems of Social Work
General Provisions
The Regulation on International Student Research Paper Competition (hereinafter - ISRC) of Russian Federal Educational and Methodological Association "Sociology and Social Work" (hereinafter - FUMO) determines the organization of ISRC.
ISRC is held to identify and support the most talented and active students, to stimulate research and development of higher education on social work.
Duration of ISRC: from February 1 to April 30th.
Deadline for papers: April 25th.
The results of ISRC are announced till April 30th.
Students studying Social Work (bachelor and master level) can take part in ISRPC.
Research topic 2020 – «Regional problems of social protection».

Participants and documents
- Students' research projects, written individually or in collaboration with other students (no more than 2 co-authors) (hereinafter - participants), are accepted to ISRC.
- Research works written in collaboration with the supervisor are not accepted for ISRC.
- Each participant can submit no more than one project.
- Documents should be provided to Organizing Committee in electronic form via email to Olimpsrb@mail.ru:
- information about participants and supervisor;
- text of research work;
- copy of student ID or any document which certify that participant is a social work student.
- Rules of text preparation are specified in paragraph below
Rules for text design
- Research work is submitted in electronic form: Microsoft Word 97-2003 (* .doc), Microsoft Word 2007+ (* .docx) or Adobe Reader (* .pdf) via e-mail to olimpsrb@mail.ru marked with «ISRC 2020 Surname Name».
- Text should not indicate any personal data of participant and supervisor or identifying notes.
- The volume of research work - no more than 10 thousand characters, including spaces. The research work is carried out in Times New Roman 14 point size in 1.5 intervals.
- It is recommended to divide the text into chapters or stick to the logical structure of this when writing: introduction, methodology, results, discussion, conclusion.
- The graphic material can be black and white or color.
- At the end of the research work, a bibliographic list should be provided.
Evaluation procedure
Research works are marked with individual codes (without personal data of participants) and transferred to Jury of ISRC. It is forbidden to open the names and other personal data of participants.
Experts of Jury evaluate research work according to a 50-point system. Each research work should be evaluated by at least two experts independently of each other.
Participants of ISRC, whose works received the highest number of points and took the first three places, are recognized as Winners of ISRC.
In addition to winners, Laureates are determined, the number of which should not exceed ten percent of total number of research projects submitted to ISRC. Laureates are determined on the basis of the average rating put out by all experts.
Original text should be more than 70%. Verification of plagiarism is carried out via link which will be sent to participant.
Selection committee
Head — Prof. Valeria Sizikova, Dean of Social Work Faculty of RSSU, head of Social Work branch of Russian Federal Educational and Methodological Association "Sociology and Social Work"
Members of Selection committee are invited from universities with social work programs.
Selection committee also includes practical social workers.
List of members will be announce after April 25th.
Organizing committee of ISRC
The overall management of ISRC is carried out by Organizing Committee.
The Chairman of Organizing Committee is the head of FUMO.
Members of Jury are annually invited from universities with social work programs. Jury also includes practical social workers.
Organizing Committee makes decisions on the dates, nominations of ISRC, as well as on awarding the winners and laureates of ISRC.
