  Gnwt journal - varia

  Gnwt (Genout) est une revue annuelle publiée au mois de septembre. Elle est éditée par le Réseau des enseignants-chercheurs en égyptologie et civilisations d’Afrique noire (RECECAN). Elle publie les articles des domaines des langues, des lettres, des sciences de l’homme et de la société, qui portent de préférence sur l’histoire ancienne de l’Afrique noire. Une rubrique varia peut cependant être consacrée à la diffusion des articles inédits en rapport avec d’autres périodes de l’histoire africaine. Tous ces savoirs doivent néanmoins avoir pour grille de lecture et fil conducteur les sources essentiellement endogènes de première main pouvant contribuer à une meilleure lecture et compréhension du passé séculaire de l’Afrique noire.

  Políticas culturais e museus

  This thematic issue intends to contribute to a critical reflection on the role of cultural policies directed at museums, collecting perspectives and experiences that stimulate the dissemination of knowledge from this field of analysis and interaction. There is no predefined delimitation for a particular period, thus accepting proposals that focus on a historical approach or that contribute to a contemporary understanding of the relation and impact of public policies in the museum sector. Proposals are also welcome which, having as object of analysis the terrain of museums, allow the confrontation and the fertilization of several theoretical and methodological points of view and the crossing of interdisciplinary perspectives. In this context, more comprehensive views or comparisons between national public policies in the area of museums can be included, as well as case studies referring to more specific contexts of museum policies.

  The Middle Ages of the Social Sciences

  The present issue of the Revue d’histoire des sciences humaines intends to gather inquiries into specific uses of the Middle Ages in twentieth century social sciences. The reference to the Middle Ages may result from a scholarly acquaintance with the medieval world, as well as from tools forged by medieval studies. Alternatively, it may be correlated with intricate cultural mediations, for example through religion or literature. We would like to invite the practitioners of the various disciplines of the SSH (psychoanalysis, sociology, historical anthropology, history, the history of science and knowledge, art history, and philosophy, among others) to contribute to this issue either with a case study, or with a broader methodological or epistemological reflection on their scientific and knowledge practices envisioned from an historical point of view.

  Ce stage s’inscrit le cadre du projet OOPAIP (Ontologie et outil pour l’annotation des interventions politiques). Dans ce projet, nous cherchons précisément à appréhender (voire à modéliser) l’analyse des discours et des rôles à la lumière d’un ensemble de variables descriptives et explicatives simples mais extrêmement précieuses sociologiquement : un ensemble d’indicateurs contextuels (type de média ; chaîne ; format de l’émission), conjoncturels (noms des journalistes et des invités) ainsi que des indicateurs de capitaux au sein du jeu politique (parti et famille politiques, majorité/opposition, position dans le champ politique) et de propriétés sociales (genre, études, âges) pour certaines attribuées conjoncturellement (titre à parler et opportunité de l’invitation).

  Imagining the Future of Multilingualism

  Education and Society at a Turning Point

  Since 2008, the Conseil Européen pour les Langues / European Language Council (CEL/ELC) has hosted a Forum every two years. These Fora seek to bring together representatives of higher education institutions, of European institutions and organisations, such as, for example, the European Commission, the European Parliament, and the Council of Europe, and of European associations like the European University Association (EUA) as well as scholars with a special interest in European integration, policy development, and multilingualism. At the centre of 2020 discussions will be the role that Higher Education can and should play in the promotion and development of multilingualism as a key aspect of European cooperation – related to facets such as language policy, internationalisation, language and knowledge, education and mobility, to mention just a few. In this context, participants will also reflect on the future role of the CEL/ELC by identifying and analysing new challenges that have arisen in our changing world.

  Fortification and sovereign powers (1180-1340)

  Fortified architecture and territorial control in the 13th century

  This project is part of the process of candidature for the UNESCO World Heritage Site of ‘the City of Carcassonne and its sentinel mountain castles’. It follows a first symposium organized in 2018 on Castles and fortified cities, the contributions that new knowledge brings to the notion of authenticity. The meeting will have to focus on a pragmatic and concrete vision, based on the history of the sources as well as on the analysis of the architecture, but also on the understanding of the geography of the terroirs and the urban factor. To better understand the phenomena at work, the purely monographic aspect will be abandoned in favour of synthesis and cross-cutting analysis communications. It will therefore be the opportunity to compare the views of historians, geographers, architects and archaeologists.

  Heritages values of 20th century architecture: what recognition?

  Critical review and international forward-looking vision

  The heritage values of 20th century architecture, whether they be cultural, social or technical, remain relatively complex to assess, and thus to share, due to lack of perspective and knowledge. The architectural and urban production of the second half of the 20th century was particularly prolific, sometimes remarkable, even exceptional. The energy, ecological transition, the changing habits and lifestyles are leading to the gradual transformation of this built heritage reaching to the end of its life cycle. Since the 1990-2000’s, a movement for heritage making has developed, which leads to many questions relating to possible and desirable developments of these architectural achievements. This  issue of  In  Situ  seeks  to  take a European or international critical perspective on the architecture of the 20th century and to highlight doctrines and positions adopted, practices and examples of schemes, policies or projects.

  What food transitions for territories?

  Les travaux et rapports scientifiques sont aujourd’hui nombreux à poser la question de l’alimentation de demain et à s’alarmer sur notre capacité à nourrir 11 milliards de personnes à l’horizon 2050 (DuAline, 2014 ; GIEC, 2019) tout en respectant la santé humaine et des écosystèmes. Dans un contexte d’alertes récurrentes des conséquences du changement climatique et de la pollution des écosystèmes (Dumat et al., 2019), cet enjeu incite à penser urgemment les modalités concrètes de la transition des systèmes alimentaires vers des modèles durables et résilients. La récente crise liée au coronavirus a d’ailleurs remis en lumière les questions qui se posent, en termes d’organisation et de gouvernance, sur les vecteurs d’une telle transition écologique, d’une justice sociale et économique ou encore d’une santé globale.

  Quels objectifs poursuivent les musées d’art en éditant des livres pour la jeunesse ? Quelle place les livres sur l’art tiennent-ils parmi les différentes actions de médiation conduites par les musées en direction du jeune public ? Quelles approches des collections des musées, de l’histoire de l’art, de l’œuvre d’art ces « musées de papier » proposent-ils – qu’ils soient publiés par des musées ou des éditeurs privés – et dans quel dialogue avec le lieu muséal ? Ce colloque international se propose d’explorer les liens entre les musées et le livre d’art pour enfants grâce aux réflexions d’acteur·rice·s de l’édition et des musées et aux analyses de chercheur·se·s de différents horizons disciplinaires.

  De quoi les Bérus sont-ils le nom ? Ça n’est pas encore assez su mais il s’est passé quelque chose de puissant et de profond au sein de la société française des années 1980. Une agitation, plus qu’une révolte à proprement parler, qui a secoué ces années Mitterrand pendant lesquelles fut enterré l’espoir d’une révolution socialiste et même d’un simple changement qui transformerait la vie de tous. L’expression fut musicale, rageuse et festive, mais plus fondamentalement elle fut l’expression d’une immense envie de vivre et de vivre libre, c’est-à-dire libéré des carcans imposés par une société vieille, un cri de la jeunesse contre la pesanteur étouffante de celle-ci.

  The Social Museum (musée de société) Today, Legacy and Evolution

  Since the end of the 1980s, many ethnographic museums around the world have evolved in line with political issues and current social and cultural preoccupations. Some of these changes have taken place within the framework of the creation of new national museums, especially where multicultural policies are at work. While these institutions’ missions are vastly different, they are frequently regrouped under the umbrella term “social museums”. These museums are dedicated to the representation of societies, both past and present, from varying viewpoints while at the same time demanding a social and civic role through their grappling with contemporary issues of identity, culture, society and environment. This issue of Culture & Musées aims to reformulate this concept in order to better understand its meaning, its uses, but also its most recent evolution within the context of 21^st-century museums.
