Bien que centraux, ces réseaux sont encore peu étudiés. L’ouvrage collectif Réseaux d’influence et géopolitique en Afrique entend combler cette lacune par une analyse critique et multidisciplinaire des dynamiques de pouvoir et d’influence à l’échelle nationale, régionale et internationale.

Entre France et Allemagne, théorie et pratique cryptographiques (1300-1800)
L’histoire de la cryptographie constitue un champ émergent de l’histoire des sciences mais aussi de l’histoire institutionnelle, politique, sociale et culturelle de l’Europe. Souvent mobilisée en annexe de travaux sur l’histoire diplomatique, elle s’est développée grâce à l’initiative du réseau européen HistoCrypt (auquel appartiennent certains membres du comité scientifique) et à l’émergence des intelligence studies. Ce colloque se propose donc de contribuer à la structuration de ce nouveau champ d’étude, pour la période moderne (1300-1800) en interrogeant le rapport entre théorie et pratique cryptographiques.

Cette journée d’étude propose d’engager une réflexion sur les sources, méthodes et théories en sciences sociales face au nucléaire militaire. En rassemblant des chercheuses et chercheurs aux disciplines diverses (droit, histoire, science politique et sociologie) et aux terrains d'enquête variés, son ambition est d’aborder la question du nucléaire militaire d'un point de vue non exclusivement politique, géopolitique ou stratégique en s’interrogeant tout particulièrement sur comment la question du nucléaire militaire a été saisie par les sciences sociales depuis les bombardements d’Hiroshima et de Nagasaki en 1945.

Museums and industry: Long Histories of Collaboration - Postdoc position
The Laboratoire d’études et de recherche sur le monde anglophone, Aix-Marseille University (AMU), is shortly to commence a major academic research project, “Museums and industry: Long Histories of Collaboration” (MaILHoC). Working with partners in the UK, Spain, and Norway, the aim of the project is to explore the impacts of industrial patronage – with a particular focus on the ethical dimensions of this relationship – on European museums of science and industry in both comparative and historical context. The project will compare insights drawn from a wide spread of historical case studies with a range of contemporary workshops exploring the ethics of industrial patronage. This position is based at AMU’s Humanities Faculty in Aix-en-Provence. The successful candidate will carry out research in archives in France and Britain while also participating in events organised by the various partners.

European Energy Shortages during the Short Coal Age (1860-1960)
The winter of 2022-2023 in Europe may become the harshest since 1944 due to fuel and electricity scarcity. This is an obvious moment for revisiting historical energy shortages. The proposed workshop will target the period of repeated fuel shortages in Europe from roughly 1860 to 1960 – the century during which coal supplied more than 50 % of all energy in Europe.

The centenary of the creation of the International Committee on Intellectual Cooperation (ICIC) is an opportunity for historians to step back and examine the achievements but also the limitations of this enterprise, its lack of diversity and cultural representativeness. In recent years, there has been a renewed interest in this field of research, in parallel with a renewed interest in the League of Nations as a whole, in a context of doubts about the capacity of multilateral institutions. Without attempting to cover all the areas that remain to be studied in relation to intellectual cooperation and soft power diplomacy in the interwar period, such an event therefore seems to be a useful place of exchange at the crossroads between the archives, teaching and research communities.

Quels enjeux pour les droits fondamentaux et la sécurité humaine ?
Ce colloque international et interdisciplinaire intitulé « Regards croisés sur les évaluations des politiques publiques migratoires : quels enjeux pour les droits fondamentaux et la sécurité humaine » rassemblera des élus, des professionnels de l’évaluation, des acteurs de la société civile, des chercheurs et des jeunes de France, du Maroc, du Sénégal et du Tchad. Ces deux jours de rencontres entrent donc dans un cadre de réflexion plus général sur les référentiels dans les évaluations et leurs impacts dans l’amélioration des politiques publiques. Ces réflexions entrent également dans le cadre de modification des paradigmes en solidarités internationales : repenser « les migrations », « les solidarités » et les « doctrines sécuritaires ».

The politics and geopolitics of translation
The multilingual circulation of knowledge and transnational histories of geography
In the last fifty years, the field of the history of geography has moved from an approach dominated by National Schools to an attention to the circulation of knowledge in its multiple scales. The history of science and of geography have in the last decades incorporated concepts such as transit, networks, mobilities, the transnational, circulation, centre of calculation, spaces of knowledge, geographies of science, spatial mobility of knowledge, geographies of reading and geographies of the book. More recently, a turn has emerged towards considering the dynamics and necessities of decolonizing the history of geography. This work is turning the field of the history of geography into one of the most dynamic areas of the discipline. Yet we suggest that questions of language and translation have remained under-determined in this new field. Translation and writing have not received the same attention as, for instance, departmental histories, sites of museums, laboratories, botanic gardens, and scientific societies, for example. We suggest, therefore, that new perspectives opened up by translation studies can open new windows on the history of geography.

Documents and documentation: retro-prospective approach
L'objectif du colloque « Documents et documentation, approche rétro-prospective » est d'interroger le paradigme documentaire dans la première partie du XXe siècle et ses résurgences dans la période contemporaine, sous la forme proclamée ici ou là du « retour au document ». À travers une approche pluridisciplinaire (sciences de l'information et de la communication, histoire, arts, documentation), trois axes de recherche nous permettront de répondre aux enjeux spécifiques liés à ce concept de paradigme documentaire : les formes et matérialités qui résultent des innovations techniques et industrielles ; le renouvellement des modalités de visualisation de la connaissance, entendue comme nouveau langage et enfin l’articulation entre lieux de savoirs et lieux de pouvoirs.

Environmental justice - the challenge of effectivity
Les institutions judicaires et le droit de l’environnent sont désormais bousculés par la question de l’effectivité du droit, c’est-à-dire l’urgence d’une application concrète des règles de droit et tout particulièrement des règles favorisant la transition écologique. L’objet de ce cycle de conférences est donc de tenter de répondre à la question de l’effectivité qui oblige à redéfinir les notions croisant justice et environnement. Deux voies s’ouvrent. D’abord, classique, la voie de la redéfinition des notions traditionnelles du contentieux et du droit de l’environnement sous le coup de l’effectivité. Ensuite, plus innovante, la voie de l’épistémologie du droit, imposée par la question de son effectivité qui convoque désormais les sciences de la nature et les sciences sociales.
