  Vulnerabilities in the workplace

  Crossed Perspectives of Social Sciences in Europe

  Depuis le tournant des années 2000, les politiques européennes du travail et de l’emploi, suivies progressivement et à des degrés divers au niveau national, prônent un double mouvement de flexibilisation et de sécurisation des parcours professionnels. Face aux mutations technologiques, aux transformations des modes d’organisation des systèmes productifs et à certains de leurs effets (chômage de masse, délocalisation, automatisation, uberisation, etc.), nous serions toutes et tous devenu·e·s « vulnérables » au travail. Davantage qu’hier, nos « vulnérabilités » individuelles et collectives seraient mises en avant. L’objet de ce colloque international sera de réinterroger ce thème à l’échelle européenne et d’élaborer des problématiques nouvelles au prisme d’un croisement des regards portés par les sciences sociales dans leur diversité (anthropologie, droit, économie, histoire, sciences politiques, sociologie, etc.).

  Dans le cadre d’un partenariat entre le Musée des civilisations de l’Europe et de la Méditerranée (Mucem) à Marseille et l’institut Sociétés en Mutation en Méditerranée (SoMuM) à Aix-en-Provence, il est proposé le recrutement d’un·e chercheur·seuse postdoctorant·e à compter du 1er octobre 2020. Le ou la postdoctorant·e mènera un projet de recherche sur le thème « Vivre en temps de crise. Une approche anthropologique par les objets », en lien avec un axe scientifique de l’institut SoMuM ainsi qu’une enquête collecte du Mucem. L’appel à candidatures est ouvert à toutes les disciplines des sciences humaines et sociales représentées dans SoMuM.

  Ce numéro de la Revue des politiques sociales et familiales s’attachera à mettre en lumière les stratégies de retrait vis-à-vis des institutions (entendues au sens large du terme) de certains parents au nom de conceptions alternatives de l’engendrement, de la filiation ou de la parentalité aux normes dominantes. Enfin, l’emploi du terme de « parent », sans distinction de sexe, dissimule les déclinaisons de cette fonction ou de ce statut suivant que le parent est un homme ou une femme. Ce numéro souhaite aussi interroger la façon dont les injonctions portées par les expert·e·s et les pratiques des (futurs) parents se déclinent entre paternité et maternité.

  In Search of Rights: social movements, judicial institutions and public policies

  Ciências Sociais Unisinos Vol. 56, nº 3 (september - december 2020)

  The global expansion of the judiciary and access to justice has highlighted institutions of the justice system that focus on defending social rights. Realizing the judicial path as an important way in the search for access to health rights, education, social assistance, among others, social movements began to equip themselves legally to work with judicial institutions. Judicial and also extrajudicial appeals, without the so-called judicialization, are increasingly frequent. The proposed Dossier aims to present the debate on the effects of interaction between social movements, judicial institutions and public policies, theoretically and empirically discussing questions about how social movements mobilize law and judicial institutions to claim and guarantee access to rights? How does this interaction impact the production of public policies? How do mobilizations through judicial institutions affect the different stages of public policy? What are the new governance standards installed from these interactions? And, on the other hand, what are the effects of the use of judicial strategy on social movements?

  The project aims to analyse social and spatial entrenchment of the recent political mobilisation in Ethiopia. By documenting the multifaced and continuously evolving contestation shaking the country, it addresses an unprecedent social and academic need.Mostly based on top-down analysis, existing works pay less attention to dissent's local and material dimensions. Territories are conceived as institutionally produced by an ethno-federal system that promotes some of them or leads to territorial disputes. On the contrary, rather mundane territorial patterns daily framing lives of millions of Ethiopians remain unknown. This project aims to disclose them, by considering that ordinary life also impacts political mobilisation.

  LGBTI and Queer Art, Culture and Activism

  In France, a few years after the law authorizing same-sex marriage, LGBTQ associations are now facing new struggles, fighting for access to assisted procreation or the creation of a communal archive center. Drawing on these dynamics, this conference aims at interrogating the bonds between LGBTQ forms of arts, cultures and activisms. We look forward to opening a space for academics and grassroots activists, whether they be engaged in institutional collectives or not, to exchange, reflect and dialogue. LGBTQ-related topics appear to be often overlooked in French research networks. We aim to make it more visible and richer, and make it dialogue with local, national and international networks of academics and activists. The « LGBTI and Queer Art, Culture and Activism » online conference is jointly organised by the Université de Lorraine and its research centres (2L2S and CREM), with the support of the French ministry of culture (DRAC Grand-Est), and the LGBTIQ centre Couleurs Gaies.

  Issue n. 3 of Close encounters in war Journal (CEIWJ) will aim to investigate the theme of close encounters in connection to the experience of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) by exploring its facets both on a micro-scale, by studying individual testimonies and experiences, and on a theoretical and critical basis throughout history. CEIWJ encourages interdisciplinary approaches and the dialogue among different scientific fields. We therefore welcome articles on conflict-related PTSD that frame the topic within the context of close encounters in war from the perspective of Aesthetics, Anthropology, Arts, Classics, Cognitive Science, Ethics, History, Linguistics, Politics, Psychology, Sociology, and other disciplines relevant for the investigation of the topic.

  Influence practices in XXth and XXIst Centuries

  The field of influence activities is increasingly proliferating (advertising, propaganda, marketing, public relations, communication, soft power, social psychology, fake news, applied algorithmic, etc.). It is important to grasp not only their scope, but their extension, their dynamics, their practices, their logic, their techniques. Where and on whom do they work? What are their histories? Who are their practitioners? What are their pioneer fronts? Why is it important to consider them just as much each in their specificity, and together? What is the contribution of influence practices to the production of value (economic and political)? From the point of view of the present and from the one of long duration history, is not influence government (a form of governmentality) a major dimension of the deep neoliberal turn the world is experiencing nowadays?
