Cet appel à communications vise à recueillir des expériences et/ou des analyses d’une mise en tourisme débutante ou finissante, ainsi que des interprétations de la dédifférenciation entre le touristique et l’ordinaire à laquelle nous assistons aujourd’hui. Les comparaisons et les essais de modélisation seront les bienvenus. Les propositions de communication, pouvant émaner de chercheurs, de praticiens ou d’associations, avec la possibilité de textes cosignés, s’inscriront dans un des trois thèmes suivants, abordés dans le cadre de trois colloques successifs.

The main theme of this meeting will be to place anthropology front and center in the face of emergent contemporary conflicts, dilemmas, and possibilities. And our panel will explore the following questions: How do politically and socially constructed categories such as migration and tourism affect the mobility of people and what strategies are employed by persons to deal with, and challenge, these competing definitions of travel? How does the nation-state interfere with peoples’ habits of travel? What are the experiences of persons with travel categories and how is the interplay with other categories such as nationality, gender, ethnicity, age, or sexuality?

Radical Americas Symposium 2016

The theme of this year’s Radical Americas symposium is “Decolonizing Americas”, acknowledging the long arc of struggle for freedom since the period of European colonization of the Western Hemisphere in the 15t^h century. Our collaborative effort will be to consider how histories within the US, Latin America, and the Caribbean converge and depart in relation to the experience of anti-colonial and decolonizing social movements, many of which continue today. We will also consider the ways that cultural efforts, collectives, art, and intellectual projects shape radical imaginaries of freedom.

La textualité médiévale et sa mise en œuvre

L’International medieval society organise l’édition 2016 de son colloque parisien sur le thème des mots au Moyen Âge. Entre dématérialisation des supports et augmentation du nombre des corpus numérisés, les études médiévales cherchent à s’adapter à ces nouvelles façons de produire la connaissance sur le Moyen Âge, en même temps qu’elles définissent les enjeux méthodologiques et historiques du traitement de mots qui existent désormais simultanément sous la forme de sources primaires (dans le codex, le rouleau, la charte ou l’inscription) sous la forme de reproductions numériques grâce aux images, et sous la forme de données statistiques et lexicographiques au sein d’outils de stockage et d’analyse.

Abraham Ibn Ezra, un savant à la croisée des cultures arabe, hébraïque et latine du XIIe siècle

In the middle of the eighth century, with the completion of the Islamic conquest of the eastern, northern and part of the western shores of the Mediterranean, Jews managed to successfully integrate into the ruling society without losing their religious and national identity. They willingly adopted the Arabic language, spoke Arabic fluently, wrote Arabic in Hebrew letters (Judeo-Arabic), and employed Arabic in the composition of their literary works. The twelfth century witnessed a cultural phenomenon that saw Jewish scholars gradually abandon the Arabic language and adopt Hebrew, previously used almost exclusively for religious and liturgical purposes, for the first time as a vehicle for the expression of secular and scientific ideas.

Sensibilities at the turn of the 21st century

Characteristic of the the first sixteen years of the 21^st Century has been the the emphasis that structuration processes have placed on the connections between emotions, bodies, and society as some of their central axes. At least since the end of the last century, the production, circulation, management, and reproduction of feeling practices have become some of the basic features of education, health care, knowledge production, the mass media, the entertainment industry, sexuality, politics, and the market - just to mention some of the most publicly “visible” ones. It is in this context that we have considered it desirable to bring together researchers and academics dealing with various aspects relating to the topic of sensibilities.

Quels citoyens pour l'empire ?

La citoyenneté française à l'épreuve de la colonisation dans la première moitié du XXe siècle

Les dimensions impériales de la citoyenneté française sont à la fois bien et mal connues. Des travaux récents ont rappelé que la césure entre citoyens et sujets s’est construite de façon progressive et par ajustements entre les enjeux de pouvoir à l’échelle locale et impériale, les logiques juridiques et les revendications portées par des acteurs mus par des intérêts différents, sinon contradictoires. La multiplication des recherches d’histoire sociale, politique et culturelle de la colonisation permet désormais d’écrire une histoire plurivoque des dimensions impériales de la citoyenneté française en se demandant comment tous ces acteurs formulent la question qui sert de titre au colloque « quels citoyens pour l’empire ? » et quelles réponses ils lui apportent, ou comment ils font en sorte d’empêcher qu’elle soit débattue.

1989 gegründete Florian-Znaniecki-Wissenschaftliche Stiftung plant die Herausgabe eines Bandes in der Serie Soziologische Monographien unter dem Arbeitstitel “Contemporary migrations in the humanistic coefficient perspective. Florian Znaniecki’s thought in today’s science”(„Gegenwärtige Migrationen in der Perspektive des humanistischen Faktors. Der Gedanke von Florian Znaniecki in der heutigen Wissenschaft”). In diesem Zusammenhang laden wir ein, die bisher nicht veröffentlichten Originaltexte in englischer Sprache zu versenden, die der Anwendung des Gedankens von Florian Znaniecki in den gegenwärtigen Migrationsforschungen gewidmet sind.

The Centre Walras-Pareto is organizing a workshop on the history of wages. The workshop will take place at the University of Lausanne (Switzerland), 29-30 September 2016. Much has been written on wages within economics. In his classical account of the history ofwage theory, Dunlop (1957) refers to three time-periods: the wage-fund theory domination,the rise of marginal productivity distribution theory, and the “contemporary setting”, startingin the 1930s and characterized by a diversity of theoretical arguments; but much has changed.

Méthodes en prosodie et recherches sur l’intonation : données, théories et transcription

École d’été Prosodie 2016

L’école d’été Prosodie 2016 permettra le regroupement de chercheurs autour des aspects théoriques et pratiques qui animent les recherches actuelles en prosodie. L’école sera organisée autour de conférences le matin et de tutoriels l’après-midi (où les participants mettront en applications les concepts discutés le matin lors des sessions de conférences) et manipuleront des données cliniques (les participants pourront venir avec leur propres données et questions afin d’animer les discussions). Cette école est ouverte aux étudiants de troisième cycle ainsi qu’aux chercheurs intéressés par les aspects théoriques et pratiques des recherches en prosodique. Cette école est à la fois pensée pour les chercheurs qui travaillent déjà sur la prosodie et l’intonation et qui approfondir d’avantage certains aspects particuliers, mais aussi pour les chercheurs qui souhaitent mieux comprendre comment incorporer et intégrer la prosodie à leur travail.

We invite to this seminar Biocultural Dimensions of the Everyday life researchers interested in the study of the body, of the human embodiment, of the techniques of the body, of the linkages between bodily action and material culture, of the human/animal co-actions, of the nutrition, of the health, of the bodily education, of the dance, of the sexuality and of other fragments of everyday life that invite to think about the complexity of the human being-in-the-world.

IV Congrès international de mythocritique

Mythe et émotions

Il existe une logique rationnelle mais aussi une logique émotionnelle, responsable de nombreuses actions que nous réalisons. La mythocritique aborde souvent les récits mythiques depuis une perspective structurelle, sociale, historique, etc. Cependant, elle ignore souvent le composant émotionnel. Il semblerait que la dimension affective, particulièrement présente dans notre société contemporaine, ne soit pas pertinente dans les études de mythologie. Le Congrès examinera le rôle que jouent les émotions aussi bien dans la structuration des récits mythiques que dans les procès de mythification de personnages et événements historiques. Le cadre de travail est l’étude des mythes anciens, médiévaux et modernes dans la littérature et les arts contemporains (depuis 1900).
