Portugal, 40 years of Democracy

No momento em que se cumprem 40 anos da revolução democrática do 25 de abril de 1974, o país que ela ajudou a transformar vive uma das mais graves crises dos últimos 160 anos. Em 40 anos de democracia, Portugal viveu de forma intensa as grandes transformações da contemporaneidade que mudaram profundamente relações sociais, identidades coletivas, sistema político, que produziram avanços e recuos muito acentuados na transformação da natureza das relações económicas. Poucas sociedades europeias sofreram mudanças tão acentuadas no espaço de uma geração: a emancipação de uma das mais longas ditaduras da história europeia, o fim de uma guerra longa de 13 anos, ou a explosão criativa de democracia vivida há 40 anos abriram o caminho para a mudança socioeconómica e a maturidade política e cultural que, contudo, desde há alguns anos entraram num ciclo depressivo.

SITRE - Colloque international

A produção científica promovida por instituições e pesquisadores dedicados às diversas áreas do conhecimento tem congestionado o calendário acadêmico brasileiro e internacional com inúmeros eventos; muitos deles dimensionados para reunir milhares de pesquisadores, professores e estudantes, que procuram apresentar e discutir seus trabalhos, assim como os de seus colegas pesquisadores. Frequentemente esses eventos são, também, pensados para tratar de temas dentro de áreas de conhecimento muito específicas. O SITRE é o lugar onde se encontram e se recobrem em suas interfaces as Ciências Humanas e Sociais Aplicadas, as Ciências Exatas, a Educação, as Engenharias, a Filosofia. Onde se encontram pesquisadores, mas também docentes dedicados ao estudo da educação, do trabalho e da identidade e questões relacionadas ao gênero e ergologia.

VIIIème congrès portugais de sociologie

La singularité portugaise présente de nouveaux ponts de communication comparative avec d’autres réalités territoriales et s’offre comme un rare laboratoire d’analyse sociologique. Des phénomènes de régression (structurelle et dispositionnelle), d’articulation de rythmes asynchrones, de changement social, de prolifération du risque et de l’incertitude, de conciliation conflictuelle de modernités multiples dans une modernité inachevée, nous défient de regarder sociologiquement ces 40 dernières années et, dans le même temps, de réfléchir prospectivement sur les tendances et défis du futur.

La Méditerranée et le sud Ibérique à l’époque médiévale : culture, identité et patrimoine (Ve-XVe siècle)

Le Congrès International « La Méditerranée et le Sud Ibérique l’époque médiévale : culture, identité et patrimoine. Siècles V-XV » aura lieu le 5 et 6 Décembre 2013, signalant les 1100 ans du pillage de Évora, ville du Alentejo, par le futur roi Ordoño II de León en 913. Le Congrès aura comme principal objectif de rassembler jeunes chercheurs et spécialistes, portugais et étrangers, de domaines si divers comme l’Archéologie, l’Histoire, la Littérature, l’Histoire des Arts, l’Anthropologie et autres dédiés à l’étude de la thématique du Sud Ibérique à l’époque médiévale. On cherche une analyse multidisciplinaire des relations de proximité et les affinités qui ont eu lieu à l’époque médiévale, entre des régions méridionales et l’espace méditerranéen ainsi que d’autres thématiques reliées à champs spécifiques de l’Art de l’Histoire économique, politique et sociale ou de la culture et mentalités du Sud Ibérique.

Esta consulta tem por objetivo reunir contribuições junto da comunidade científica portuguesa tendo em vista a partilha do estado da arte da investigação conduzida em Portugal e de agendas futuras de investigação que consolidem linhas estratégicas para a intervenção portuguesa no âmbito da EDCTP2. O espírito desta consulta é assumidamente interdisciplinar, procurando reunir especialistas – nomeadamente mas não exclusivamente – nas áreas da Saúde, Estudos do Desenvolvimento, Estudos Africanos, Sociologia, Ciência Política e Relações Internacionais.

Durante este evento, que se realiza pela primeira vez em Portugal, serão analisados assuntos relacionados com o corrente"programa-quadro 2020" da União Europeia e o papel dos investigadores na construção de uma sociedade europeia com base na inovação sustentável.

Ethics and social responsibility research

Following in the footsteps of its first edition in 2011, the 2nd Symposium on Ethics and Social Responsibility Research-2013 is intended to promote a dialogue between the research lines which converge in the quest for scientific understanding of the current challenges of ethics, sustainability and social responsibility in organizations. SESRR will also address the complexities of individual ethical decision-making processes in organizational settings. It aims not only to discuss theoretical models and empirical results, but also debating the organizational strategies and the intervention practices in these areas, which are particularly at stake in the context of the economic crisis nowadays. Issues such as the prevention of misconduct in organizations or the relationship between individual’s ethical behavior and the strategies for the economic recovery will be discussed at specific forums.

Sexuality(ies) and citizenship(s)

A Revista Ibero-americana de Saúde e Cidadania/Iberoamerican publica uma edição especial sobre Sexualidade(s) e Cidadania(s). Os trabalhos devem abordar a importância da sexualidade na sociedade e na conceituação e definição de cidadania. Este número temático aborda a importância da visibilidade da diversidade sexual, a capacitação das diferenças, das minorias sociais e sexuais, e a necessidade de criar, projetar e estabelecer políticas sociais e de saúde pública que melhorem a situação social da diversidade sexual. Diversidade sexual e cidadania são dois conceitos que fazem parte do desenvolvimento educacional e social de forma global e diversificada. Devem, por isso, ser analisados de forma multidisciplinar. Daí que se pretenda uma abordagem das ciências da saúde, das ciências sociais e humanas e dos estudos de género das realidades sociais decorrentes de ambos os conceitos.

Sensing the city: explorations in sensory ethnography

The conference aims to explore the relation between urban places and sensory experiences, drawing attention to the many dimensions of life in the city, mainly those that are rendered by the sense. We are guided by two main questions: What’s the role of the senses in framing, attributing meaning and changing collective and subjective experiences of city dwellers? And what is the relevant impact of sensory registration and analysis on the way of doing ethnography? Our objective is to gather researchers working on urban settings through ethnographic approaches. The senses will be considered both as an epistemological proposal – through which one sees the urban phenomena – and a methodological approach to the city.

A Conferência pública compreenderá três partes. A primeira parte compreenderá apresentações com uma perspetiva mais conceptual nas áreas da organização e gestão públicas, que proporcionará um enquadramento adequado para a segunda parte, dedicada à análise e discussão de casos de sucesso da reforma do sector público em três países (Austrália, Canadá e Suécia). Finalmente, será promovida uma mesa redonda de discussão sobre as lições a retirar para o caso português, para a qual serão selecionadas algumas das questões propostas neste sítio (“Questões para discussão”).

I iberoamerican congress of therapeutic recreation in pediatric oncology

The recommendations of the International Society of Pediatric Oncology refer to the importance of investment in non-pharmacological approaches to handling pain and distress as important components of treatment. In this context, there are numerous benefits associated with the approach of Therapeutic Recreation strategies, innovative in Portuguese territory. Conceptually, the Therapeutic Recreation assumes promoting adaptation to changes that the patient faces in a context of hospitalization; it aims to restore the physical well-being, mental and emotional health of the patient, intending to full recovery. The Holistic perspective often results in a more positive set of experiences by the patient and family in the management of illness and hospitalization.

Gender workshop series III

Este ciclo, que entra na sua terceira edição, pretende debater questões relacionadas com a construção social de identidades sexuais e temáticas de índole feminista em diferentes contextos sócio-políticos e culturais, privilegiando o diálogo interdisciplinar e entre as mais variadas áreas de investigação. Em cada sessão, um/a convidado/a apresenta e discute um tema que considera importante para a sua área de estudo, cruzando-o com a sua própria investigação ou atividade profissional e cívica. Esta apresentação baseia-se, em geral, em textos ou outros meios de reflexão disponibilizados previamente. Segue-se um debate com o público.
