The call for papers is now open for the I Cine Bárbaras – International Conference on Cinema and Audiovisual Arts, which will take place on October 23 and 24, 2025, at the Lusófona University – Porto University Centre. This conference is a space for critical reflection and debate dedicated to gender studies and feminist film theories. The conference will address topics such as representativity, representation, feminisms in cinema, intersectionality, and the role of women and other marginalized identities in film creation and exhibition.

Réseaux de correspondances dans les mondes ibériques et ibéro-américains (XVIII-XIX-XXe siècles)

Si l’écriture épistolaire n’est pas une invention du XVIII^e siècle, ce procédé de communication interpersonnelle et intellectuelle, utilisé aussi bien dans la vie réelle que dans la fiction, connaît un nouvel essor au siècle des Lumières. L’étude des correspondances suppose par ailleurs que l’on s’intéresse à la notion de réseaux, car l’échange et la circulation des lettres induit des dynamiques de constitution de réseaux interpersonnels (épistolaires au premier chef, mais qui sont aussi des réseaux familiaux, commerciaux, politiques, diplomatiques, etc). De plus, avec le développement des humanités numériques, on assiste à un renouvellement des méthodes d’analyse qui apportent une dimension novatrice à l’étude de corpus de correspondances. Il s’agira donc, lors de ce congrès, d’aborder la question des réseaux de correspondances dans une perspective élargie, en étendant l’étude aux espaces ibériques et ibéro-américains, et dans une chronologie allant du XVIII^e au XX^e siècles.

Knowledge, Public Policies and Social Justice

Gender, feminist and women’s studies are currently faced with new challenges and the deepening of old obstacles that compromise their future or may even block it in some countries. Debate and controversy in the public sphere have grown increasingly polarised, often evolving into open conflict and intense antagonism. The Interdisciplinary Centre for Gender Studies invites researchers from national and international institutions to contribute to enhancing knowledge on gender equality issues in different countries, but also on current challenges and future prospects for gender, feminist and women’s studies. the Congress will take place from January 31^st to February 2^nd 2024 , in Lisbon, at the Institute for Social and Political Sciences (ISCSP-ULisboa).

Dance: history and historiography

This dossier is inserted in the field of dance, its history and historiographies – in the web of complexities of processes of centralizations and decentralizations, influences and consolidation, circulation, appropriations, migrations and transpositions of sources, uses and knowledge. It also addresses the challenges of the production of dance history, considering the dynamics of digital technologies for production of images and sounds, as well as inter and transdisciplinary relations that can support these reflections. This call invites authors to submit previously unpublished articles about procedures and research in dance, through approaches that, based on the polysemy of the word history, is inserted in the lines of education, creation, production and diffusion of the language of dance.

This dossier invites researchers to submit papers discussing the theoretical and methodological challenges and limits facing new research questions in order to address the interfaces between religion and gender in Latin American countries in light of changes in the social and religious field in recent decades. We welcome works produced from different areas of knowledge in the social and human sciences, as well as areas and studies at the intersection of these issues. We set out to encourage reflection on the ethical challenges faced by researchers regarding the new theoretical and methodological models used in our region and beyond.

The recognition of women’s place in American societies has become a crucial social, cultural, political and economic issue, as evidenced by worldwide protest movements such as Ni Una Menos that started in Argentina – a feminist movement fighting against feminicides and gender-based violence – or the Women’s March against President Donald Trump in the United States. Whether these protests have to do with the struggle for women’s right to vote, the sexual revolution that started in the 1960s, or social movements denouncing gender-based violence in urban and rural environments, they highlight a continuity between yesterday’s feminist fights and their re-adaptation in the public space.

Feminisms and ARTivism in the Americas (20th-21st centuries)

Les féminismes contre-hégémoniques sont globalement peu connus en France. La théorie et l’action des femmes états-uniennes – connu sous le nom de black feminism – suscite certes un intérêt croissant chez les chercheur·e·s depuis la fin du XX^e siècle. En revanche, les apports théoriques et les formes de mobilisation des autres régions américaines sont beaucoup moins visibilisés. Envisagé dans une perspective comparative et pluridisciplinaire, ce colloque voudrait approfondir la connaissance de ces mouvements en France. En s’attachant à la pluralité et à la force de leur action, la réflexion portera sur les caractères spécifiques et leur contribution à la lutte contre les oppressions de classe, de race, de genre et de sexualité. Une attention toute particulière sera portée à l’étude de la pluralité des mobilisations notamment celle qui envisage l’art comme forme de lutte.

Encore faut-il qu’ils soient adaptés au risque à couvrir et à la nature de l’activité, qu’ils soient correctement portés, stockés, entretenus et remplacés à temps. Dans le cadre de ce dossier, la revue Laboreal valorisera la multidisciplinarité – à savoir des contributions qui se situent dans le champ de l’ergonomie ou de la psychologie du travail, mais également de la sociologie du travail, des sciences de l’ingénieur et de toute approche qui privilégie les questions de la santé au travail.

La proposition de cette rencontre et d’essayer de questionner les normes essentialisantes – telle qu’exprimées dans les discriminations raciales -, les classifications – qui excluent certaines couches de la population – et le primat du langage – qui évacue la cognition des expériences sensibles, telle la culture des signes des sourds. Nous proposons de croiser des expériences existentielles à la frontière de trois oppositions classiques : masculin/féminin, humain/non humain, vivant/mort en invitant des spécialistes travaillant sur des terrainsde contextes culturels différents à discuter entre eux et avec des philosophes et des psychanalystes.

Cette publication s’insère dans une perspective socioéconomique des migrations. Elle aborde spécifiquement les contextes sociaux et institutionnels où se développent les entreprises créées par des immigrés. Le livre sera édité par l’Éditorial Comares et coordonné par Fernando López Castellano, Fernando García-Quero et Mourad Aboussi, chercheurs à l’Université de Grenade (Espagne). L'appel à contributions est ouvert jusqu’au 23 décembre 2011. La langue de publication est l’espagnol. Cependant, il est possible d’envoyer des contributions en français et en anglais aux seules fins d’évaluation. En cas d’acceptation, la traduction à l’espagnol devra être remise au comité de coordination dans les délais indiqués ci-dessous.
