L’une des principales caractéristiques du XXe siècle est le déplacement de personnes, qui pour des raisons économiques, politiques et sociales furent contraintes à abandonner leur lieu de résidence et à s’installer ailleurs. Si la recherche de meilleurs conditions de vie, voire de survie, échapper aux conflits armées ou aux persécutions politiques ou religieuses sont à l’origine des mouvements migratoires, ceux-ci sont également stimulés par les crises économiques et l’avènement des régimes autoritaires. Migrants, exilés et réfugiés fondent dans les pays d’accueil des associations, publient des journaux, organisent des commémorations et mettent en place des instruments de sociabilité, par le biais desquels sont véhiculés une identité nationale et/ou un positionnement politique. Par ailleurs, ces groupes subissent des processus d’acculturation, qui se reflètent tant dans les activités développées que dans le lien maintenu avec les pays d’origine.

Work on screen: social memories and identities through cinema
Since the early 20th century, work in contemporary societies has suffered several processes of change, which, in the context of the current economic and employment crisis, demand equating the structuring of social identities that are built and modified through work. During this period, cinema has been a privileged vehicle for the creation and dissemination of representations on work and, therefore, the shaping of social memories. This international and multidisciplinary seminar aims at gathering and discussing contributions that analyse the social processes involved in the formation of work identities and representations through cinema. It welcomes papers that highlight the main continuities and discontinuities of work memory narratives from the early 20th century to the present days, based on the analysis of specific films or bodies of films (both documentaries and fictions) and their reception.

Palaces and Urban Dynamics: Centers of power and knowledge in Europe
Palácios e dinâmicas urbanas: centros de poder e de conhecimento na Europa
The European palaces established more than mere residences of monarchs, princes, cardinals, aristocrats and bourgeois. They were centers of power, solid social and political symbols, and also production centers for culture, arts and science. On the other hand, they played a fundamental role by motivating the renovation and expansion of cities. In a broad sense, we can consider the palace as a center that marked not only the inner spaces, but also its surroundings. Starting from this premise and taking the opportunity of the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of the construction of the so called Palácio de D. Manuel in Évora, this is the ideal context for organizing this international conference.

Poéticas y políticas del cuerpo en la contemporaneidad
Dans une perspective comparatiste et transversale réunissant différentes disciplines théoriques et artistiques, ce colloque a pour but d’ouvrir un dialogue interdisciplinaire et de mettre en jeu les questions que notre contemporanéité pose sur le corps. Prenant en compte les différences territoriales et culturelles, chaque époque historique produit une idée différente du corps et du sujet, qui est intimement liée à ce qui se passe dans les domaines artistiques, théoriques, technologiques, sociaux, politiques et économiques qui la soutiennent. Partant d’une approche interdisciplinaire, cette rencontre est destinée à proposer et approfondir des axes de recherche qui peuvent aider à comprendre la construction de corporalités dans le contexte contemporaine.

Festival de la vidéo de recherche sur les traites, les esclavages et leurs héritages
Le Centre international de recherches sur les esclavages (CIRESC / France) organise depuis plusieurs années le « Festival de la vidéo de recherche sur les traites, les esclavages et leurs héritages » en collaboration avec le laboratoire d’Histoire orale et image de l’université fédérale Fluminense (LABHOI / Brésil) et du Centre interuniversitaire d’études sur les lettres, les arts et les traditions de l’université de Laval (CELAT / Canada). Le festival s’adresse à toute personne menant des recherches en sciences humaines et sociales sur la thématique des traites, des esclavages et de leurs héritages, et qui utilise la vidéo pour diffuser le résultat de ses recherches. Il a ainsi pour objectif d’inciter, de diffuser et de promouvoir les productions filmographiques abordant ces questions.

La mer et les hommes. Territoires, pratiques et identités
Revue internationale d'ethnographie n° 5
De tout temps, les populations se sont rassemblées dans les cités portuaires et sur les espaces littoraux. Autrefois réservée à la pêche, au commerce et aux opérations militaires, la mer est devenue depuis plus de deux siècles, espace de loisir et objet de recherche. Mer et littoral prennent une importance croissante dans les pratiques et les enjeux de l’humanité. Il s’agit donc, aujourd’hui et demain, de l’exploiter de façon productive et dans un souci de durabilité. Ces enjeux, sources d’activités sociales, d’innovations (technologiques, socioéconomiques) et de conflits (locaux, internationaux), méritent qu’anthropologues, sociologues, économistes, historiens, géographes, juristes, littéraires, s’intéressent à ce monde gigantesque, dans un rapport interdisciplinaire avec les sciences biologiques, halieutiques ou océanographiques.

ECAS 2015 - 6e Conférence européenne des études africaines
Après Lisbonne en 2013, la sixième conférence européenne des études africaines (ECAS-6) aura lieu à Paris du 8 au 10 juillet 2015, dans les locaux de l’université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne. Elle est organisée conjointement par l’Institut des mondes africains (IMAF) et Les Afriques dans le monde (LAM). ECAS-6 aura pour thème principal : Mobilisations collectives en Afrique : contestations, résistances et révoltes. Mais cette thématique n’est pas exclusive, le comité scientifique considérera également des propositions de panels sur d’autres domaines émergents et / ou plus classiques.

Another Music in a Different Room
Resulting from a series of developed works in the last decade within the framework of social sciences (namely Sociology of Culture, Sociology of Arts, Sociology of Youth, Urban Sociology and Sociology of Music), in this advanced seminar we will have the opportunity of deepening the understanding around the importance, functioning, process, the agents, characteristics, genres and subgenres of the current urban music scenes. The ANOTHER MUSIC IN A DIFFERENT ROOM will be a fruitful space for ideas, discussions and, therefore, for a great developments on scientific knowledge. So, it’s our intention to share all this scientific dynamic with the world in order to contribute to a larger debate on music, youth, lifestyles, culture, cultural scenes, music scenes. In this context, the ideas and discussions held in the Advanced Seminar, both by lecturers and participants, will be published in a Collaborative e-book.

Les communications doivent privilégier les approches franco-brésiliennes, comparatives ou permettant la mise en perspective de sujets qui seraient spécifiques à l’un des deux pays par rapport à des phénomènes comparables identifiés dans l’autre. Les rencontres doivent être l’occasion de valoriser la comparaison, l’échange d’expériences, de bonnes pratiques, de méthodes de travail, etc., grâce à un débat fécond entre les intervenants.

La proposition de cette rencontre et d’essayer de questionner les normes essentialisantes – telle qu’exprimées dans les discriminations raciales -, les classifications – qui excluent certaines couches de la population – et le primat du langage – qui évacue la cognition des expériences sensibles, telle la culture des signes des sourds. Nous proposons de croiser des expériences existentielles à la frontière de trois oppositions classiques : masculin/féminin, humain/non humain, vivant/mort en invitant des spécialistes travaillant sur des terrainsde contextes culturels différents à discuter entre eux et avec des philosophes et des psychanalystes.

It intends to significantly contribute to current reflections on the potential and limitations of rural tourism as a development tool as well as to the identification of ways to maximize this potential in certain circumstances, through a more profound understanding of the dynamics of the “overall rural tourism experience”.
