V International Conference on Mythcriticism
The V International Conference on Mythcriticism “Myth and Audiovisual Creation” will analyze the impact of myth in audiovisual creation from 1900 to the present day. The Conference will be organized in four universities during two weeks.The Conference will be divided into 4 venues according to different themes: "Germanic Myths" in the University of Alcalá, "Classical Myths" in the University Autónoma, "Biblical Myths" in the University Francisco de Vitoria and "Modern Myths" in the University Complutense. Researchers can send to one of their 4 venues their abstracts. They will have to analyze the relevance of film, TV series and video games in the creation and modification of old, medieval and modern myths to our contemporary world.

De tout temps, les populations se sont rassemblées dans les cités portuaires et sur les espaces littoraux. Autrefois réservée à la pêche, au commerce et aux opérations militaires, la mer est devenue depuis plus de deux siècles, espace de loisir et objet de recherche. Mer et littoral prennent une importance croissante dans les pratiques et les enjeux de l’humanité. Il s’agit donc, aujourd’hui et demain, de l’exploiter de façon productive et dans un souci de durabilité. Ces enjeux, sources d’activités sociales, d’innovations (technologiques, socioéconomiques) et de conflits (locaux, internationaux), méritent qu’anthropologues, sociologues, économistes, historiens, géographes, juristes, littéraires, s’intéressent à ce monde gigantesque, dans un rapport interdisciplinaire avec les sciences biologiques, halieutiques ou océanographiques.

A question for geographies and geographers
The CNFG (French National Committee for Geographers) in collaboration with IGUorganizes a two-day forum to discuss the relationship between languages, social contexts ofscientific production, and the overtly admitted language of scientific exchange, that is,English. It invites all French-speaking geographers, from different “national” and “linguistic”contexts, but also all geographers and geographies interested in sharing their views andexperience on the diffusion and production of knowledge in the global context.
