  L’école de printemps « Histoire audiovisuelle au XXe siècle : Corps, pratiques et émotions » est une invitation à examiner de manière approfondie et sur une durée de cinq jours, la relation qui existe entre l’histoire du corps et sa politique d’une part, et le film et la télévision au XXe siècle d’autre part. C’est une perspective transnationale qui a été choisie ; elle prendra en compte l’Allemagne, la France et la Grande-Bretagne.

  We are pleased to announce that the international conference of the Upper Rhine Cluster for sustainability research (URCforSR) will take place on September 27-28, 2018 in Strasbourg. The call for abstracts is already open. We invite abstracts covering one or several of the five fields of investigation: governance; energy; infrastructure and social change; Ttansformation processes and technologies; resource management; multiculturalism and multilingualism. Interdisciplinary and/or trinational projects are especially welcome. Please note that the participation is free of charge (European interreg funding).

  Repenser le Halal : généalogie, tendance actuelle et nouvelle interprétation

  The issue of halal sprang up in the early 1980s, but only in the past 10 years has it become a salient concern, especially in Europe and Asiatic non-Muslim countries, mainly for business purposes and other economic activities. Since then, halal has progressively encompassed all aspects of modern human life, including halal food-processing, halal hotel, halal sauna, halal cosmetics, halal drugs, halal fashion, halal taxi, halal airline, etc.  From this halal phenomenon, many new things arose: halal certificate bodies (HCB), Islamic marketing, Islamic finance, and the like. Accordingly, halal has been continuously normalized and standardized by modern rationality that has turned it into a practice and policy for regulating Muslims in their whole daily life. These new practices in economy progressively required new kinds of scholars (‘ulama) committees to deal with new discoveries in the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, in order to issue fatwas on such issues, which did not exist or were different in the past within classical-fiqh discussion.

  Dans le cadre de l'EUGEO 2017 nous proposons une session spéciale sur l'attractivité territoriale et la qualité de vie. Nous proposons d'explorer les façons novatrices de concevoir l’attractivité territoriale. Comment penser l’attractivité en termes innovants ? Comment penser cette innovation autrement qu’en termes de structures de gouvernance ? Comment par exemple innover en termes d’acteurs impliqués, d’indicateurs choisis, de politiques… Bref, trois axes principaux guideront cette session spéciale : stratégies innovantes de l’attractivité territoriale ; qualité de vie, bien-être et attractivité territoriale ; perceptions et représentations territoriales au service de l’attractivité.

  El objetivo del coloquio es estudiar los puertos desde un punto de vista holístico. Por un lado, se pretende analizar los puertos en tanto que materia de estudio con entidad propia y factor de modernización cultural, socioeconómica, política y tecnológica del área donde se insertan. Por otro, se propone abordar las conexiones entre los puertos atlánticos, los cuales han facilitado los intercambios de mercancías, personas, agentes biológicos o corrientes culturales a través del Océano.

  Les communs en Asie du Sud aujourd'hui

  Since 1998 the “Association des jeunes études indiennes” (AJEI) organizes an annual workshop in India with the support of international and local partners. This year, we propose a three-day event in Goa to debate the question of the “commons” in contemporary South-Asia. The workshop will be structured around different thematic sessions with the presentations of the works of the participants, a field visit and an open discussion on fieldwork methods. One of the main objective of the event is to give the opportunity to the participants to exchange on their works and their experience, to get feedbacks from senior researchers and to build relationships, reinforcing thus the strong international network of researchers on South Asia.

  ERASMUS+ Action Jean Monnet

  Le projet Ressources sur le modèle socio-économique européen (RESuME), cofinancé par le programme « ERASMUS+Action Jean Monnet institutions » et l’université du Luxembourg, a pour objectif de contribuer à l’étude du modèle socio-économique européen, de ses origines, de ses caractéristiques actuelles et de son développement à venir. Le projet se concentre sur l’interaction entre la société, les acteurs économiques et les autorités publiques, à travers le prisme de la notion de compétitivité européenne. Il mobilise à ce titre l’histoire contemporaine, le droit, l’économie, les sciences politiques, ainsi que la philosophie politique ou la sociologie.  Afin d’éclairer ce sujet, le projet RESuME crée une nouvelle série innovante de contributions scientifiques : les Cahiers de recherche Etat, Société, Marché, Europe (Cahiers RESuME).

Our collaborative effort will be to consider how histories within the US, Latin America, and the Caribbean converge and depart in relation to the experience of anti-colonial and decolonizing social movements, many of which continue today.   The Centre Walras-Pareto is organizing a workshop on the history of wages. The workshop will take place at the University of Lausanne (Switzerland), 29-30 September 2016. Much has been written on wages within economics. In his classical account of the history ofwage theory, Dunlop (1957) refers to three time-periods: the wage-fund theory domination,the rise of marginal productivity distribution theory, and the “contemporary setting”, startingin the 1930s and characterized by a diversity of theoretical arguments; but much has changed.
