Merchant, Ecclesiastical and Urban experiences for the uprising of princely accounting

Provence, Comté Venaissin, Dauphiné, Savoy, and others territories of Occident (12th - 15th Century)

The advent of monarchic accounting during the Thirteenth Century requires two types of reflection. The first one deals with the personnel mobilized by the monarch, its background, training and professional and family culture. The second one is more of an inquiry into the writing methods, the conservation and consultation processes used by the institutions in charge of princely accounting, especially the Camere rationum (accounting offices).

Urban Holiness before Modernity

Saints and the City is an international, interdisciplinary workshop on urban holiness in pre-modern times in East and West. Graduates and young post-graduates will be able to present their researches as guests of the Erlangen Centre for European Medieval and Renaissance Studies IZEMIR and the DFG-Research Group "Holiness and Sanctification in the Middle Ages and the Early Modern Period. Intercultural Perspectives in Europe and Asia".

Democratic transitions and the transformation of elites in Germany in the 20th century

Dans la recherche récente consacrée aux transitions démocratiques, l'Allemagne ne constitue pas un objet privilégié d'étude, alors que le pays a pourtant été directement concerné par les trois grandes vagues de démocratisation du XXe siècle. Cette journée d'étude entend ainsi jeter un regard comparatif sur les trois transitions démocratiques vécues par l'Allemagne (après 1918, après 1945 et après 1989) à travers la question de la transformation des élites en tant qu'acteurs majeurs de ces processus.
