  Schalten und walten. Towards Operative Ontologies

  IKKM Biennial Conference 2019

  The conference will conclude the IKKM six-year research program on ‘Operative Ontologies’. A term seeming contradictory at first, it assumes that everything that exists is not simply present or given but has been called into being through media and their operations in the most general sense: The ruling (das Walten) of nature as well as the ruling of the social reside under the command of technology, which as increasingly digitized technology is based on switching operations (das Schalten) — e.g. the achievements of bioengineering or the computational models of planet Earth. When embodied operations establish ontological orders and the difference between the ontic and the ontological thus re-enters the ontic, this demands a radical remodeling of ontology. The IKKM Biennial Conference 2019 therefore investigates the given with regard to the procedures through which it has been made possible, produced, set up, brought into the world and called into being — “switched on” — in the first place.

  Cette journée d’études, qui s’insère dans un cycle de recherche étalé sur deux ans et consacré à la jurisprudence relative à la « rémunération », aura pour objet « L’égalité en matière de rémunération ». Son ambition sera de cerner les points de convergence et de divergence entre les raisonnements adoptés par les juges des deux côtés du Rhin. Les interventions thématiques, au nombre de quatre, seront principalement axées sur les outils de la comparaison entre « égaux » et les justifications possibles des différences de traitement.

  Religion im historischen Diskurs der Frühen Neuzeit

  Geschichte – Macht – Religion

  Religion wie Politik versuchten im frühneuzeitlichen Europa die historische bzw. historiographische ‚Sphäre‘ zu kontrollieren. Manchmal taten sie das gemeinsam, manchmal in überschneidenden, oftmals auch in antagonistischen Bewegungen. Sie versuchten die wissenstheoretischen Voraussetzungen festzulegen, die praktischen Bedingungen ihrer Entstehung, die historiographischen Gattungen ebenso wie deren Gebrauch und Rezeption : Sie waren Rivalen und Mitarbeiter auf dem gleichen Feld. Die Prozesse des Schreibens, der Formung von Erinnerung und des Gebrauchs alter wie neuer Medien sind dabei gleichmäßig zu berücksichtigen. Ausgehend von dieser Grundlage muss jedoch auch die Frage nach dem ‚Gebrauch‘, den politische wie religiöse Gruppen und Institutionen vom historischen Wissen machten, gestellt werden, besonders in den klassischen Konfliktlagen um administrative Macht, soziale Rollenmodelle, öffentliche Erinnerung, Legitimität und Toleranz
