Dossier temático nr. 16: Cadernos do arquivo municipal
Para el dossier temático de este número de los CAM, sugerimos centrarse en estos materiales, apuntando a la relación entre el patrimonio construido, el conocimiento y la sociedad. Propone un enfoque multidisciplinario, amplio y diversificado de los diversos aspectos que influyen en la realidad patrimonial de las ciudades. Su objetivo es explorar aspectos diversificados de la mediación entre estos materiales y el patrimonio cultural. Por lo tanto, se le invita a presentar estudios y reflexiones creativas y originales.

7th Congress of the Portuguese Anthropological Association (APA)
The 7th Portuguese Anthropological Association congress aims to discuss the condition of being human and being in the world today. 2019, a year of a possible calendar among many other available. Without identifying themes, reference words, categories or classifications, 2019 marks a stage in the social and natural history of the planet. The openness suggested in an “untitled” congress also points to an anthropology without conceptual, thematic or epistemological boundaries. It is life in itself that interests anthropology, anthropologies, thinking the gerund of human existence, others and the rest from multiple interpretive possibilities. After all, anthropology is practiced on everything and everyone in a project of knowledge that remains inexhaustible in terms of what exists and is to come.

Queering Friendship | citizenship, care and choice
Intimate Final Conference
Contrary to individualization theories that suggest the impoverishment of human relationships, theories of relationality recognize the increasing centrality of informal networks of solidarity and care. In this debate, friendship plays a fundamental role. The mutual implications of intimacy and citizenship need to be addressed, exploring the extent to which issues of LGBTQ friendship matter (or not) in being recognized as citizens. The centrality of friendship is even more striking when considering personal lives of trans and non-binary people, but also lesbian women, gay men and bisexual people, LGBTQ migrants and other intersecting, vulnerable groups. In particular, the way transgender people actively provide and receive different care between friends offers invaluable contributions to political debates and conceptual discussions around friendship and care as a key aspect of LGBTQ everyday life. Unveiling the richness of the blurred spaces of intimacy, the ways in which LGBTQ people produce alternatives to family-based forms of cohabitation are also of critical importance. LGBTQ lived experiences further contribute to destabilizing the family/friends and public/private binaries, whilst challenging heterocisnormative expectations about who legitimately belongs to the intimate sphere and who remains excluded and/or invisible.

2017 Mediterraneanist network (MedNet) workshop
The European association of social anthropologists (EASA) mediterraneanist network (MedNet) will held its 2017 workshop in cooperation with the University of Lisbon. Focusing on circumstances and conditions of change, the 2017 MedNet Workshop will bring together members of the EASA MedNet Network in an open forum with scholars and colleagues from the european anthropological community.

This panel focuses on researches into the embodiment of chronicity, with a special attention to controversies around the definition of chronicity and the promises of chronicization linked to innovations in therapies. In this panel we are both interested in analyses of biomedical research and of illness experiences.

Bodies in transition: Power, knowledge and medical anthropology
EASA Medical Anthropology Network – 2017
In 2017 the biannual conference of EASA Medical Anthropology Network will be hosted in Lisbon, Portugal, with the prospect of promoting a compact encounter with more plenaries and less parallel sessions. The purpose is to maximize the interweaving of our experiences and understandings across the different niches and orientations within medical anthropology and in exchange with neighboring fields; we hope that bringing back plenary sessions creates room for unpredicted synergies. Around 120 medical anthropologists from around the globe will meet at the University of Lisbon to debate current research and developments and discuss the field’s contribution to gain a broader and deepened understanding of the conference’s overarching topic.

Territorialidades e historicidades
A relação entre pessoas e terra invoca historicidades que se sobrepõem de formas diversas. Juntando antropólogos a trabalhar sobre territorialidades em contextos indígenas no Brasil e antropólogos a trabalhar sobre territorialidades em espaços associados às margens da cidade de Lisboa, e colocando em debate etnografias sobre a terra como parte de processos de pertença com etnografias mais dirigidas a conflitos entre diferentes políticas públicas, o simpósio promete uma discussão que comprova a centralidade da questão da terra na conjuntura contemporânea.

Existirão limites éticos nas práticas dos antropólogos? Reconhecem-se áreas de actuação e intervenção distintas assim como contextos interdisciplinares que, cada vez mais, marcam as experiências dos antropólogos. Muitos deles, ou quase sempre, são arenas políticas onde se confrontam saberes competitivos, num mundo que não é só de indivíduos humanos, de vivos, do aqui e do agora.

Work on screen: social memories and identities through cinema
Since the early 20th century, work in contemporary societies has suffered several processes of change, which, in the context of the current economic and employment crisis, demand equating the structuring of social identities that are built and modified through work. During this period, cinema has been a privileged vehicle for the creation and dissemination of representations on work and, therefore, the shaping of social memories. This international and multidisciplinary seminar aims at gathering and discussing contributions that analyse the social processes involved in the formation of work identities and representations through cinema. It welcomes papers that highlight the main continuities and discontinuities of work memory narratives from the early 20th century to the present days, based on the analysis of specific films or bodies of films (both documentaries and fictions) and their reception.

Presume-se, por isso, a participação de todos. Em particular, apela-se vivamente aos investigadores doutorandos e de pós-doutoramento FCT/CRIA que assistam e participem nestes seminários. Os seminários podem ser apresentados em português, espanhol, inglês ou francês. Contempla-se também a presença de convidados nacionais e internacionais.

Action publique et problèmes sociaux dans les villes intermédiaires
A Ação Pública resulta da interseção e, cada vez mais, da interdependência entre as ações que decorrem das responsabilidades respetivas das Políticas Públicas, através dos diferentes elos que a concretizam e da Sociedade Civil, através das iniciativas que a consubstanciam, entre movimentos sociais e iniciativas locais e as organizações e dispositivos que lhes dão consistência. A Ação Pública manifesta-se na construção e gestão dos problemas públicos ou sociais. O próprio processo de construção e os modos de gestão dos problemas sociais são analisadores potentes das relações de poder que existem entre os atores e das dinâmicas sociais no interior dos coletivos analisados. -

(Anti-)racism and critical interventions in Europe
Social sciences, policy developments and social movements
In contemporary Europe, we are witnessing the vanishing of anti-racism from political cultures and academic discourses, in favour of an approach that intervenes on immigrants and minorities themselves via public rhetoric on integration. This conference will thus bring together an international community engaging in debates on racism and anti-racism to discuss the analytical approaches and main findings of the European research project TOLERACE - The semantics of tolerance and (anti-)racism in Europe: public bodies and civil society in comparative perspective, coordinated by the Centre for Social Studies.

Fronteiras e mobilidades na Península Ibérica, século XX
Neste colóquio internacional procura-se reunir propostas que possam contribuir para a análise das estratégias e das práticas de diferentes actores que operam nas fronteiras: os que favorecem as mobilidades transnacionais (como passadores ou transportadores); os que as vigiam (as autoridades fronteiriças e policiais). Pretende-se articular o estudo das fronteiras e das mobilidades com as principais problemáticas que marcaram a investigação em ciências sociais sobre o século XX ibérico. -

Protestos e movimentos sociais contemporâneos em Portugal
O workshop “Protestos e Movimentos Sociais Contemporâneos em Portugal” terá lugar no CIES-IUL nos dias 20 e 21 de fevereiro de 2013. A finalidade do Workshop é a de discutir os textos elaborados pelos participantes. Para que se efetue uma leitura prévia e um debate profícuo sobre o seu conteúdo, os textos serão enviados para todos uma semana antes da realização do Workshop. Assim, no seu decorrer, haverá apenas uma breve introdução sobre os textos (5 min.) que, em seguida, serão discutidos pelos participantes. -

Convivialidade e super-diversidade a nível local
Our principal aim is to describe, analyze and compare new super-diverse convivial contexts, as they relate to the process of migrations shaping new cultural realms. Our approach does not involve the idealization of harmonic intercultural relations but considers convivial contexts as new fields of intercultural tensions and interactions as an attempt to understand their dynamics and the social, historic and personal factors that lead to willingness to coexist with ethnic heterogeneity or to reject it. Consequently, it envisions applying an innovative framework to understanding intercultural relations among national and migrant populations. From the perspective of social topography, the new convivial cultures are not associated with a specific geographic space. They correspond to different public contexts in which people with links to various ethnic or cultural groups interact. -

O Instituto de Ciências da Família promove a Conferência Internacional – Famílias em Risco: Contextos, Problemas e Desafios, nos dias 4 e 5 de maio de 2012, na Universidade Católica Portuguesa de Lisboa – Faculdade de Ciências Humanas.Na Conferência Internacional apresentar-se-á painéis como: Modelos e estratégias para a intervenção familiar, Famílias em risco na perspetiva da saúde mental, Prevenção e remediação da delinquência juvenil, Famílias multidesafiadas: novos problemas, novas competências.
