  Bodies for (re)construction

  Das Ziel dieses Workshops ist es, den Begriff „Körper” in Bezug auf die spezifischen Herausforderungen, mit denen das leidende Subjekt konfrontiert ist, zu thematisieren. Den Ausgangspunkt hierfür bildet die Annahme, dass sich im Leiden und der Unmöglichkeit seiner vollständigen sprachlichen Vermittlung die enge Verbindung zwischen Körper und Sprache zeigt. Sie verweist auf die Notwendigkeit, diese beide Sphären zusammen zu denken. Wir laden Vertreter*innen philosophischer, psychoanalytischer, politik- und sozialwissenschaftlicher, literaturwissenschaftlicher sowie künstlerischer Perspektiven zu einem zweitägigen Workshop an der École normale supérieure (Paris) ein, um uns gemeinsam mit diesem Thema auseinanderzusetzen. Die Veranstaltung wird am 1. und 2. Oktober 2021 stattfinden.

  Theological disputes between Ašʿarīs and Ḥanbalīs and their representations from the 11th/5th century to contemporary Wahhabi-Salafism

  Ḥanbalism and Ašʿarism have been for more than a century represented as two inherently antagonistic theological schools. “Literalist”, “fideist” and “traditionalist”, Ḥanbalism is said to be the uncompromising opponent of rationalist currents. Contemporary Wahhabi-Salafism is perceived itself as a legitimate heir to this doctrine and a modern replica of this struggle. However, several academic studies are shaking up this reading grid and leading to a revision of our certainties by renewing our approaches. Through this international conference, we hope to give them more visibility, to question our representations of Ašʿarism, Ḥanbalism and the contemporary currents that claim to be the later in order to renew our understanding of theological quarrels.

The International Conference aims to promote a plural discourse on narration and representation of wind as a cross-knot between different disciplines, proceeding by glitches and associative jumps, intertextuality, intermediality, and moving on a new exploration of the theme through multiple examples in modern and contemporary literature and in visual and performing arts.

  Incest, between today's events and history: comparative perspectives on a social taboo

  À sa sortie en janvier 2021, le livre de Camille Kouchner, La familia grande, fait grand bruit et soulève une question majeure de notre société, longtemps restée dans l’ombre, celle de l’inceste. Le sujet est alors placé au cœur de l’actualité et plusieurs propositions de loi ont été soumises concernant les infractions sexuelles commises sur des mineurs. Si le terme d’« inceste » n’a été inséré dans le Code pénal qu’en 2016, sa répression par les tribunaux n’est quant à elle pas nouvelle. La notion varie en réalité selon l’époque et le lieu où l’on se trouve et les sociétés ne l’ont pas toujours appréhendée de la même façon. Ce colloque s’attachera ainsi à définir les différentes perceptions juridiques, sociales et culturelles de l’inceste au fil des siècles jusqu’à nos jours.

Et n’est en aucun cas reconnu comme genre littéraire, tout en usant des mots et de leurs agencements. Cependant, Rabelais, Molière, Voltaire, Diderot, Queneau, et jusqu’au sublissime Frédéric Dard, alias San-Antonio, ont donné les lettres de noblesse à l’humour et à son expression. Ce troisième numéro de la série « Parenthèses » propose d'étudier le rapport entre littérature et humour.

  Mass and individual in capital modernity

  The notion of the “mass” is back on the agenda. Recent large-scale popular protests, the extraordinary importance acquired by social networks, the current appeal of conspiracy theories, as well as so-called “populist” phenomena, have triggered a renewed discussion around this concept. Since its emergence at the beginning of capitalist modernity, the idea of the 'mass' has implied a certain reactionary conception of collective action, according to which the individual's judgment capacity is eclipsed by irrational behavior. The First World War and the rise of fascism apparently brought to reality this representation: the individual, weakened by social atomization, succumbed to a tyrannized mass.

  Le 2 juin parait un ouvrage inédit posthume de Michel Serres, consacré à La Fontaine, aux Éditions Le Pommier. À cette occasion et dans le cadre du festival Quartier du livre, Jean-Charles Darmon, directeur du département Littératures et Langage de l‘ENS-PSL organise, avec Frédéric Worms, directeur adjoint de l’ENS, en partenariat avec la Fondation Michel Serres-Institut de France, une rencontre autour de cet ouvrage. Réunissant des philosophes et des critiques littéraires, cet événement tente de prendre la mesure de l’importance du livre, à la fois pour la compréhension de l’œuvre de La Fontaine, et pour celle de la pensée de Michel Serres.
