Le Gnomon journal - International Institute for the History of the Notary Profession
La revue trimestrielles Le Gnomon publiée sous l'égide de l'Institut international d'histoire du notariat, association créée en 1974, consacrera son numéro de l'été 2021 aux relations entre l'art et les notaires. Ce numéro thématique souhaite montrer les interactions existantes entre les différentes formes d'art (littérature, théâtre, cinéma, sculpture, peinture, photographie, architecture, musique, opéra, etc.) et le monde notarial. Nous recherchons donc des contributions d'une douzaine de pages maximum, avec illustrations/images libres de droits pour une date limite de dépôt fixée au 15 avril 2021.

In anticipation of the 700° anniversary of Dante Alighieri’s death (September 2021), the journal “Il Risorgimento” intends to dedicate a monographic issue to the political, literary, historic, artistic and symbolic use of the poet during the period of National Unification. The cultural centrality of Dante in the first half of the Nineteenth century, not only in Italy, has been the subject of numerous specific research. “Il Risorgimento” is looking for new and original works, based on unknown or under-utilized sources. This is meant to widen interpretations, putting aside – if possible – those sources which solely position themselves through the lens of the Italian “genius”. The journal is not looking for a vain reproduction of a “canon”. Instead, the focus is on the documented presence of Dante in environments still unexplored in the civil and private life of Italians in the years of the struggle for Independence.

Illness as Metaphor in the Latin Middle Ages
Leeds International Medieval Congress 2021
The session seeks to provide a forum for scholars to reflect on the variation and functions of metaphors of illness in the Latin writing of the Middle Ages. We encourage papers that investigate how the imagery of morbus, pestilentia, gangraena etc. structured individual experience and how it shaped self-knowledge and practices of communities. We invite original contributions that critically examine the role that Latin metaphors of illness played in medieval discourse as a tool of explaining reality and as a rhetorical device used to impose specific world views.

Image, Cartography, Knowledge of the City after the Council of Trent ("In_bo" vol. 12, no. 16)
Between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, the Italian political geography was polarized by a number of cities of different sizes and traditions: Rome and Florence, Milan and Naples, Genoa and Venice, Turin and Modena, either ancient republics or new dynastic capitals, satellites of the great European monarchies or small Signorias. The conjunction — less frequently the conflict — between the mandates of the Council of Trent and the interests of the ruling élites of those cities set the foundation for novel forms of social, cultural and spiritual control, fostering new urban structures and policies, deeply conditioned by the presence and government of the sacred.

Research and scientific discourse
L’objectif de ce second numéro de la revue en ligne scientifique et transdisciplinaire Éclats est d’explorer la notion de discours de vérité dans la recherche scientifique. Comme le montre la multiplication des publications scientifiques dans toutes les disciplines, les chercheurs doivent constamment traiter de nouvelles informations. De même qu’il existe « une machine de la production de l’information » du côté journalistique, il existe et s’entretient « une machine de la production de la recherche » (Charaudeau, 2006) à l’université. À l’heure où l’on s’interroge sur la loi de programmation pluriannuelle de la recherche, il convient d’étudier les possibles conséquences de la précarisation du statut de chercheur sur la fréquence et la qualité des productions scientifiques. Il s’agira donc, pour ce numéro, de décrire et de questionner les ambiguïtés propres au discours scientifique et à ses modalités multiples.

Les temps sont aujourd’hui propices à la réflexion sur les formes de partage du sol et des espaces que nous habitons. « Sol(s) en partage », thématique des rencontres du réseau Espace rural et projet spatial (ERPS) 2021, sera l'occasion de venir interroger la nécessité et l’urgence de mieux partager les sols, de mieux les considérer, les protéger, les ménager, les affecter, les utiliser, les exploiter, les mutualiser, etc. en écho à la nécessité de faire commun. Ces rencontres ont pour ambition de dresser un premier portrait des manières dont le sol est questionné et mobilisé par toutes les sphères participant de la transformation des territoires, que celles-ci soient académiques, institutionnelles, associatives, habitantes, etc. Les contributions viendront nourrir le débat autour de la convocation du sol comme matière première et support essentiels du projet et à engager une reconquête par le sol entendu comme à la fois milieu, ressource et mémoire.

Reclaim: Narratives of African Women Artists
This symposium is part of a wider collaboration with the Africa 2020 Season, a pan-African and multidisciplinary project taking place in France from December 2020 to mid-July 2021. Africa 2020 is an invitation, by N’Goné Fall, General Commissioner of the Season, to look at and understand the world from an African perspective. In this context, the AWARE association: Archives of Women Artists, Research and Exhibitions whose goal is to improve the exposure of 20th century women artists, sought the expertise of scholars, artists and curators from Africa and around the world to raise the issue of the visibility of women artists in Africa.

Borders in the Americas – Integration, Security and Migrations
In the aftermath of the collapse of the Soviet Union, many analysts and experts argued that the world had reached the “end of history” [Fukuyama, 1992] and that regional and local organizations and free trade agreements (among which the European Union appeared to be a model of integration) signaled the emergence of a world without borders. Yet, thirty years later, the reality seems to be altogether different. Today, it is clear that “borders are back”. Whether these borders are challenged, violated, transcended, consolidated, or integrated, they remain necessarily at the heart of the political debate. This symposium will focus on a specific geographic area: the Americas.

Il s'agira d'explorer des métamorphoses et/ou des continuités au XIXe siècle de la spiritualité des XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles en France et dans ses colonies.

Le Rize accueille en résidence trois jeunes chercheurs ou chercheuses inscrit·e·s en master 1 ou 2 de sciences humaines et sociales (stage indemnisé de quatre à six mois). Le Rize est un équipement culturel original doté d’un pôle documentaire (il abrite les archives municipales de Villeurbanne et une médiathèque), d’un pôle d’action culturelle et pédagogique et d’un pôle scientifique. Il a pour ambition de stimuler et de favoriser la recherche, mais aussi et surtout de valoriser ses résultats, notamment par une diffusion auprès des publics sous la forme d’expositions, de manifestations et de publications. Faisant des enjeux de mémoire et de patrimoine qui traversent la société contemporaine l’épicentre de son action culturelle, le Rize souhaite que les principes et les modalités de cette action prennent appui sur une réflexion scientifique et éthique qui lui donne sens.

It is a period of transition to the Modern State and it is a moment of intensification of the material manifestations of a state nature. The colloquium is organised in three sessions: the first session will deal with the material exhibition of royal power. The second session focuses on the territorialisation of the State. The third one is centered on the autonomous development of the State beyond the monarchy.

How are norms challenged by disabilities?
This 9th conference aims to discuss the construction of normality and, more broadly, the system of thought that structures our societies in which being “able” is the norm in the sense of both the most widespread and the most desirable situation. The aim of this critical perspective is therefore to highlight how our societies are structured in relation to the notion of the able individual. While the recent call to build inclusive societies would appear to herald a radical turning point, what is the reality? Have we truly finished with representations of disability that tend towards the negative, the defective or even the tragic? To what extend are the “heroized” figures of disability, omnipresent in the public space, perpetrating the representation of disability as a deviation from the norm?

Cette journée d’étude se propose de fédérer les chercheurs et chercheuses francophones dont les travaux portent sur des objets, textuels ou iconiques, imprimés entre la décennie 1840 et la fin de l’entre-deux-guerres ; sur leurs modes de production, les valeurs qui leur sont attachées, les usages et les pratiques qu’ils produisent ou dans lesquels ils s’insèrent. Seront attendues avant tout, des contributions qui mettront l’accent sur des problématiques innovantes et peu traitées jusqu’à présent par la recherche sur la culture de l’imprimé, sans limitation géographique, en particulier sur des objets à la marge de la définition dominante de l’imprimé, populaires, vernaculaires, mineurs, subversifs ; et sur des usages et pratiques de l’imprimé minoritaires ou alternatives, tant du côté de la production que de la réception.

Ten years after Argentina's emblematic "same-sex marriage" law, this issue of Cahiers des Amériques Latines examines the notion of a "rights revolution" [Encarnación, 2016] and takes stock of the situation of sexual and gender minorities in the region. Three lines of research seem essential to propose a critical reflection on the reality of sexual and gender minorities and to evaluate the LGBTQI+ "rights revolution" in Latin America.

Quelques années après la parution du numéro thématique de Justice spatiale | spatial justice sur la justice alimentaire et l’agriculture qui nous avait amené à proposer la notion de « justice agri-alimentaire » (2016), nous souhaitons avec ce numéro de la Review of Agriculture, Food and Environment (RAFE) rassembler des articles en sciences sociales et en économie, reposant sur un travail empirique approfondi réalisé dans les Suds et/ou les Nords (y compris comparatif), afin de discuter et de développer cette notion. Ce numéro spécial poursuit l’exploration d’une approche procédurale et relationnelle de la justice agri-alimentaire. Il s’inspire aussi d’une approche pratique de la justice agri-alimentaire.
