Projet

Dans le cadre d’un projet du Fond national Suisse (FNS) pour la recherche scientifique, la Haute école de travail social Genève recherche un·e assistant·e HES, doctorant·e en anthropologie, à 100%. Le présent poste porte sur un projet de recherche intitulé Im/mobile Others in Chile. (Re)defining Race and the Nation-State from Indigenous and Migrants’ Perspectives, financé par la division 1 du FNS.

Engagement à durée déterminée d’1 an renouvelable, sous contrat de droit privé

Missions

Le/la titulaire de ce poste aura pour missions principales :

Participer à la réalisation d’un projet de recherche en anthropologie politique centré sur la construction de l’état-nation chilien et les processus de racialisation à partir de trois populations du Sud Chili :

• Les Mapuche, principal peuple autochtone chilien ;
• Les nouvelles populations migrantes en voie d’établissement ;
• Les Chilien-ne-s descendant des colons arrivés à la fin du XIXe / début XXe siècles.

Réaliser une thèse de doctorat en lien avec le projet de recherche (sous la direction conjointe des Bozzini, UniFR, et Lavanchy, HES-SO).

Profil/Compétences

• Être titulaire d’un Master en anthropologie ou en sciences sociales, ou titre jugé équivalent ;
• Désirer s’engager dans un projet de thèse ;
• Attester d’excellentes connaissances des méthodes ethnographiques (observation et observation participante, entretiens qualitatifs, analyse documentaire) ;
• Être disposé-e à effectuer un travail de terrain au Chili (deux périodes de respectivement 8 et 4 mois entre 2019 et 2020) ;
• Maîtriser l’espagnol et avoir de bonnes connaissances orales et écrites en anglais ;
• Faire preuve de capacité à s’intégrer dans une équipe, ainsi que d’autonomie, d’esprit d’initiative et de sens de l’organisation.

Particularité du poste 

Au regard des modalités de financement du poste, l’engagement est fait sous contrat de droit privé. La rémunération est fixée à 47'040 francs annuels bruts pour un taux d’occupation à 100%. Progression selon les échelles de traitement du FNS. Le contrat est d’un an, renouvelable au maximum trois fois (48 mois au total).

1 year renewable contract, under private law  

Mission

Contribute to the research project focussed on nation-state building and racialisation processes regarding three social groups:

• The Mapuche, main Chilean indigenous group;
• New migrant populations;
• White Chileans.

The candidate will be enrolled in the PhD program of the University of Fribourg, under the joined supervision of Prof. Lavanchy (University of Applied Sciences) and Prof. Bozzini (University of Fribourg)

Profile

• Master’s degree, ideally in anthropology or a related field, or equivalent;
• Excellent skills in ethnographic methods (qualitative interviewing, participant observation);
• Spanish fluency, good spoken and written English skills as well as the willingness to engage with two long-term fieldwork in Chile (respectively 8 and 4 months between 2019 and 2020);
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently;
• Good organizational skills.

Characteristics of the position

The successful candidate will be hired under a private law contract. The annual gross salary rate is 47’040 CHF for a 100% work rate and will progress according to SNSF rates. The duration of this contract is 1 year, renewable maximum three times (48 months in total).
