Keep It Simple, Make It Fast! DIY Cultures and Global Challenges

KISMIF Conference 2020

We are pleased to announce the fifth KISMIF International Conference ‘Keep It Simple, Make It Fast! DIY Cultures and Global Challenges’ (KISMIF Conference 2020) which will take place in Porto, Portugal, between 8 July and 11 July 2020. The submission of abstracts for this conference is open to academic researchers working in all areas of sociology, anthropology, history, cultural economics, cultural studies, geography, philosophy, urban planning, media, and cognate disciplines, such as design, illustration, popular music, cinema, visual and performing arts. This initiative follows the great success of the past four KISMIF Conferences (held in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018) and brings together an international community of researchers focusing on underground music scenes and do-it-yourself cultures.

La revue Cahiers sur le Genre et la Diversité, une revue féministe et queer du nord-est du Brésil, invite toutes et tous à soumettre des articles, des essais, des interviews, des journaux de terrain, des rapports d'expériences et d'autres textes pour le numéro spécial « #MariellePresente: Résistances transnationales ». Les textes doivent décrire et analyser les réponses transnationales suite à l'assassinat de la brésilienne Marielle Franco. Elle était une femme noire de la favela, militante politique, féministe et lesbienne. Elle a été assassinée au coin d'une rue à Rio de Janeiro en mars 2018. Étant donné le caractère politique de son assassinat, de nombreuses actions dénonçant le crime ont été organisées dans le monde entier.

The Portuguese Republic after World war I: the Azores, centrality and communications in the North Atlantic

Initially supported by the popular masses, the Portuguese First Republic was marked by social, political and economic instability, and a weak participation in World War I. The period from 1910 to 1926 was characterized by a partisan struggle for power, political and social agitation. Improvements since 1923 were not enough to counteract the growing discontent stimulated by intellectuals; a persecuted Church; an army and civil service without resources and an economically oppressed industry. The coup of May 28, 1926, put an end to this democratic regime starting a new cycle that, despite maintaining the previous political instability, prepared the Estado Novo, under the control of Antonio de Oliveira Salazar, interrupted in April 25, 1974.

“Sociologia on line” journal – Varia

Sociologia on line is the journal of the Portuguese Sociological Association. It has an open access policy and publishes original research on Social Sciences and reflections on the development of Sociology. Scientific papers can be written in English, Portuguese, Spanish, French or Italian and will be independently evaluated by at least two experts. In addition, Sociologia on line uses double-blind peer review, which means that the identities of the authors are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa. This Call for Papers is continuously open. Publications aiming to be considered for 2019 should follow the schedule of the journal.

Théories et pratiques artistiques dans le contexte académique : polarisations et contaminations

La multiplication de cours de pós-graduação (Master, Doctorat et Post-doctorat) dans le champ de l’art au Brésil ces dernières dix années interroge davantage l’interaction entre théories et pratiques dans le contexte académique. La présence de disciplines dans lesquelles s’inscrivent une pratique artistique – arts visuels, musique, danse, théâtre, cinéma, littérature, entre autres – interpelle le binarisme entre art et science et propose des nouvelles formes de perceptions de l’objet d’étude, ainsi que des nouveaux critères d’argumentation et d’évaluation de recherche académique. Comment une pratique artistique peut devenir un objet de recherche académique ? Comment gérer la particularité de ces recherches e de ses résultats ? Quelles sont les stratégies utilisées pour outrepasser les binarismes imposés par les modèles scientifiques tout en emphatisant le pouvoir réflexif de l’art et l’imminente nécessité de créativité pour la formulation théorique ?

Dans ce parcours, le travail, élément constitutif de notre espèce, joue ici un rôle décisif. Comment la coopération a-t-elle évolué dans les activités de travail, formelles ou informelles ? Comment les modes actuels de gestion, les systèmes d’évaluation et les conceptions de la formation, ont-ils contribué au renforcement ou à la dégradation des actions de coopération au travail ? Qu’est-il nécessaire de garantir pour que la construction de la coopération se construise ?

7th Congress of the Portuguese Anthropological Association (APA)

The 7^th Portuguese Anthropological Association congress aims to discuss the condition of being human and being in the world today. 2019, a year of a possible calendar among many other available. Without identifying themes, reference words, categories or classifications, 2019 marks a stage in the social and natural history of the planet. The openness suggested in an “untitled” congress also points to an anthropology without conceptual, thematic or epistemological boundaries. It is life in itself that interests anthropology, anthropologies, thinking the gerund of human existence, others and the rest from multiple interpretive possibilities. After all, anthropology is practiced on everything and everyone in a project of knowledge that remains inexhaustible in terms of what exists and is to come.

In 2016, we met in Braga to discuss experiences about living mobilities, and debate reflections and results of research on (new) cultures of time, space and distance. Two years later, we travel South. In Évora, 2018, we intend to maintain the theme and broaden the debate on mobility in the contemporary world, looking particularly at its pathways, directions and policies. We now have a significant theoretical-conceptual knowledge about mobility, its senses, scales and experiences. This knowledge is shaped by the great questions that inspire contemporary social theorization around the uses, appropriations and representations of time and space. Penser les droites en Amérique latine au XXe siècle

Ce colloque s'inscrit dans la continuité de deux précédentes rencontres qui se sont tenues en France (2014) et en Argentine (2016), et à travers lesquelles s'est progressivement constituée une communauté de chercheurseusses travaillant sur les identités, les idées, les pratiques et les discours d'acteurs et de mouvements appartenant aux droites latinoaméricaines. Il reste difficile d'établir les limites précises du concept de « droite » en raison de l'hétérogénéité et de la pluralité des groupes qui ont, historiquement, appartenu à cette famille caractérisée par la diversité de ses traditions politiques. Il est donc essentiel de penser des frontières mobiles dès que l'on considère le phénomène des droites dans leur historicité et les changements qu'elles ont subis au cours du temps. Ce constat établi, nous n'avons pas la prétention de proposer des définitions canoniques, mais seulement de réfléchir aux cadres généraux d'un champ d'études dont la pertinence historique et l'actualité ne sont plus à démontrer, mais dont les limites et les caractéristiques fondamentales font toujours débat.

Municipalisation et gestion urbaine au Mozambique

Le Mozambique est encore très largement géré par l'administration de l'État central: il n'y a que 58 municipalités, toutes urbaines. La questionne est donc très politique, puisque toute avancée de la municipalisation permet à l'opposition d'acquérir plus de poids, même si le parti au pouvoir garde le contrôle sur la majorité d'entre elles. Ce colloque international aura lieu une dizaine de jours après la tenue des élections municipales d'octobre 2018, qui seront un test grandeur nature pour les élections présidentielles et législatives de l'année suivante...

Voyage et cosmopolitisme : De l’île au monde

Avec cette rencontre nous souhaitons promouvoir l’étude et la réflexion autour du Voyage et du Cosmopolitisme, notamment par le biais des relations inter et transculturelles. Le croisement des différents savoirs et des différents champs disciplinaires, non seulement des sciences humaines mais aussi des sciences sociales, permettront de traiter de multiples problématiques, telles que l’héritage culturel, la globalisation de la culture, l’identité, la citoyenneté. Partant de l’éthique de « reliance », telle qu’elle est définie par Edgar Morin, les littératures, les arts et les autres langages scientifiques peuvent questionner et mettre en rapport les singularités universelles, suivant, par exemple, les études développées par Alain Badiou.
