  History and polemics: historiographical debates and the public space

  Ever since history became an academic knowledge, historiographical debates have been exceptional moments of construction, condensation and dissensus, often resulting in historiographical turns. Controversies around specific themes have divided entire fields of knowledge production, bringing into light different, often contrasting conceptions, methodologies and practices of historical knowledge. Such debates were, at the same time, moments in which the description and interpretation of the past represented a public intervention in the present, in which the defense of a certain way of making sense of history was also a way of taking of sides in a specific contemporary political discussion. Historiographical polemics were therefore moments in which historiographical knowledge had to confront in the public space other approaches to the past, thus making visible, and challenging, the paradigms that rule the historical discipline and public history.

  Los materiales de interés histórico que construyen el patrimonio construido: correlaciones, usos, paisajes

  Dossier temático nr. 16: Cadernos do arquivo municipal

  Para el dossier temático de este número de los CAM, sugerimos centrarse en estos materiales, apuntando a la relación entre el patrimonio construido, el conocimiento y la sociedad. Propone un enfoque multidisciplinario, amplio y diversificado de los diversos aspectos que influyen en la realidad patrimonial de las ciudades. Su objetivo es explorar aspectos diversificados de la mediación entre estos materiales y el patrimonio cultural. Por lo tanto, se le invita a presentar estudios y reflexiones creativas y originales.

Comment comprendre la réticence anglaise à la poursuite d’une coopération économique régionale au sein de l’Union européenne (UE) à travers l’opération BREXIT d’une part, et l’ambition chinoise d’étendre les domaines et les géographies de sa coopération économique, à travers notamment la réactivation des routes de la soie, d’autre part ? Pourquoi certains États ou gouvernements préfèrent restreindre les domaines de leurs coopérations internationales, alors que d’autres cherchent plutôt à les étendre ?

  Archives, history, and memory from the Age of Revolution until the First World War

  The long nineteenth century witnessed four major historical processes of the utmost significance: the modernisation of the state, nation-state building, the independence of the American colonies from Europe, and the colonisation of the African and Asian continents. The modernising of the state entailed its growth and bearing on the economy and society, the widening of the state’s role, the “bureaucratization” of its administrative apparatus, and protracted democratisation. Along came the reduction or removal of competing powers, namely the church and aristocracy. The state also became a vehicle for the enshrinement of private property, free enterprise and, increasingly, the freedom of association among citizens. In addition, the modernised state would favour and support nation-state building in a number of ways.

  Mémoire(s) partagée(s): création, recherche et politique sur la scène européenne contemporaine

  IIe congrès de l’European association for the studies of theatre and performance (EASTAP)

  Nous constatons l'enregistrement compulsif de nos actions « pour mémoire future ». Où se situe le théâtre et la performance dans cette problématique ? En tant qu'art de la mémoire ? En tant que dispositif mnémonique qui permet à une communauté de se souvenir temporairement ensemble et, surtout, de produire des mémoires, de projeter la mémoire dans un espace-temps de partage ? On peut parler d'un théâtre compris comme palimpseste qui laisse entrevoir ce qui est écrit, effacé, réécrit dans le corps-mémoire des acteurs, mais aussi dans le corps de ceux qui, étant présents, refont et refondent leurs mémoires en permanence. Le II^e congrès de l'European association for the studies of theatre and performance (EASTAP) a l'intention de réactiver la discussion sur le rôle de la mémoire dans la création théâtrale contemporaine.
