Entre la fin du XIXe siècle et le début du XXIe siècle, plus de 27 millions d’Italiens quittèrent la Péninsule pour les quatre coins du monde. La Bibliothèque universitaire s'est intéressée à ce phénomène migratoire de grande ampleur et propose, du 6 février au 2 mars 2012, une grande manifestation culturelle sur l'émigration italienne : une exposition de photographies et de panneaux explicatifs, des conférences, des vidéoprojections, un spectacle, une rencontre-signature et une sélection d'ouvrages, d'articles de presse et de films. -

Les 28 et 29 novembre prochains se tiendra à Lausanne un colloque consacré à la figure de l'évêque défunt pendant le haut Moyen Âge. Le colloque est le deuxième volet d'un ensemble triparti autour duquel s'articule un troisième cycle romand des lettres consacré à « Identité et mémoire : l’évêque, l’image et la mort ». Interviendront des historiens, des historiens de l'art et des archéologues. -

Contemporary Fatherhood : recent norms, new practices ?
Quatrième rencontre organisée dans le cadre du programme ANR « Pères en solitaires. Paternité et nouvelles trajectoires familiales », cette journée d’étude viendra interroger l’évolution des normes et usages relatifs à la définition contemporaine de la paternité, saisie dans les situations familiales succédant aux ruptures conjugales. Ouvrant la réflexion comparative initiée entre la France et l’Espagne à la situation italienne, les contributions permettront de porter sur la paternité différents éclairages, de l’évolution des règles du droit à la vulgarisation des savoirs psychologiques sur la « place du père ». L’approche démographique et les premiers résultats des enquêtes empiriques menées sur la paternité « en solitaire » permettront d’éclairer des situations inédites ou mal connues, de la résidence commune des pères et des enfants aux situations de « monoparentalité » masculine succédant à certaines ruptures conjugales. -

La sua figura di studioso e di docente ha rappresentato un punto di riferimento fondamentale per lo sviluppo dell'Informatica Umanistica in Italia. Per ricordare la sua figura, DigLab (http://digilab.uniroma1.it/) Mediateca delle Scienze umanistiche dell’Università di Roma La Sapienza e la Facoltà di Lettere e Filosofia dell’Università Roma Tor Vergata, con il patrocinio dell'Associazione per l'Informatica Umanistica e la Cultura Digitale, organizzano un convegno di studi che si svolgerà nelle rispettive sedi nei giorni 27 e 28 ottobre. I lavori si articoleranno in tre sessioni tematiche. -

Os contributos, ao aprofundar aspectos peculiares da actividade económica da comunidade italiana em Lisboa, proporcionaram aspectos inéditos das relações comerciais e culturais luso-italianas. -

The Jewish tombstones of pre-modern Europe are significant for European history, since individual burial, with individual tombstones, only became widespread among Christians in the modern era. The tombstones of Italy’s Jews are particularly valuable, because, whereas in other lands Jewish tombstones typically record the identity of the deceased and the date of death, in Italy they display creative architectural designs and graphic art, accompanied by rhymed and metered poetry. These artifacts invite integrated study of the society, art, poetry and thought of Italy’s Jews in the early modern era. -

L'Istituto Storico italo-germanico (Isig) organizza una Summer School riservata a giovani studiosi/e che frequentano il primo anno del dottorato, per i/le quali mette a disposizione n. 20 posti. Nel 2011 essa sarà dedicata a « Le Dimensioni della storia. Pubblico e Privato: teoria, metodi, storiografia » e si svolgerà a Trento dal 4 all’8 luglio 2011. Il corso si propone di approfondire, tramite lezioni frontali ed attività seminariali, le interazioni tra dimensione privata e pubblica della storia, in un'ottica di lungo periodo (età moderna ed età contemporanea). The Renaissance of Mineral Springs in Italy and Europe 1200-1600
History, Culture and Ideas/Imagery
From the 14th century thermalism flourished in Italy, Europe and, last but not least, in the German Empire. Because of the elitist patients, who come from afar to visit the baths, ancient springs are revitalized, new ones developed, and extended with a sophisticated infrastructure. Simultaneously to a changed body culture an autonomous balneological discourse emerges for the first time, which feeds on ancient and Arabic sources and on empirical observations made at this time. In addition to the miraculous, the special social conditions one experiences during a stay at a spa far away from home are reflected upon primarily in contemporary literature, but also in painting, in which the ancient tradition plays an important role. Our conference aims at bringing together different disciplinary and national approaches to a topic that is flourishing, but has so far been treated only sporadically. -

Strategies and means implemented to protect world heritage
L’objectif de cette table-ronde est d’aborder à la fois d’un point de vue théorique et technique les effets du changement climatique sur le patrimoine mondial. Les récentes recherches de l’UNESCO ont mis en évidence, avec l’appui de rapports d’experts comme celui du GIEC, les difficultés rencontrées par les États pour parer aux dégradations induites par le climat sur le patrimoine bâti ou naturel.
