Fifth International Congress on Desert Economy
This congress is an interdisciplinary scientific research platform on the desert, arid lands, and the Sahara (hot drylands, hyperarid or semi-arid regions, oasis and remote rural areas) economy, management, and development, in order to contribute effectively to the good governance and in the sustainable development of arid lands worldwide, by stimulating meetings between all stakeholders on a global scale, with a view to fostering dialog, partnership, and cooperation among desert countries worldwide: Africa and the Gulf States (the MENA and the Sahel...), the United States of America, Australia, China, India, South America..., and creating a conducive environment to the exchange of experiences, expertise, trainings, educational practices and innovation, around themes related to the desert economy and to the arid lands management.

El próximo número de la revista Amnis pretende alimentar la reflexión sobre la naturaleza de la conflictividad social. Para ello, invita a los especialistas del tema a proponer sus artículos, buscando la diversidad de enfoques y puntos de vista que podrán articularse alrededor de los siguientes ejes: las condiciones necesarias para la existencia del conflicto social, así como las consecuencias del mismo ; los actores de la conflictividad social, entendiendo como tales a los ciudadanos, las organizaciones sociales, las fuerzas del orden, el Estado o los medios de comunicación ; las formas de expresión de la conflictividad social ; el espacio en el que se desarrolla la conflictividad social, no solamente como territorio físico sino incluyendo las redes en un sentido organizativo o comunicativo ; el papel cumplido por el lenguaje, las representaciones y los medios de comunicación en un sentido amplio.

Since the middle of the last century, efforts have been made to better exploit the potential of earth as a building material. All over the world, interest in earthen architecture is growing, and research centres are multiplying, as are training efforts. However, the major projects carried out in the 1970s did not become widespread. Their appropriation has often remained at the prototype or demonstrator stage. A situation which is not always easy to decipher. Is it lack of support from public authorities? Lack of interest from professionals? Lack of standards? Inadequacy for widespread use?

Le réseau de recherche Centre de recherche sur la langue en Acadie Circula organise le colloque international ILPE 6 « Les idéologies linguistiques dans la presse écrite et les autres médias de communication : l’exemple des langues romanes » à l’Université de Moncton (Acadie, Canada). Ces rencontres se présentent dorénavant comme un événement incontournable pour l’étude des idéologies linguistiques dans le domaine des langues romanes. Comme c’était le cas des éditions précédentes, la rencontre organisée à Moncton aura pour objectif de réunir des chercheuses et chercheurs intéressés par le double rôle des médias comme lieu de production et de diffusion d’idéologies linguistiques et comme moyen de standardisation-normalisation de la langue, et ce, dans les différentes communautés de langue romane.

Ce colloque, au croisement de plusieurs champs disciplinaires, de la civilisation des pays hispanophones aux théories de l’information et de la communication en passant par la réception d’œuvres littéraires, portera sur l’influence des médias dans les tournants marquants des XXe et XXIe siècles de l’aire hispanophone (histoire politique, sociale, culturelle). Il s’attachera à observer la construction des événements majeurs par les médias à travers des évolutions qui ont bouleversé notre rapport aux médias. Il proposera également d’examiner la représentation de personnages marquants ou d’œuvres culturelles à travers le prisme des médias.

Représentation(s) du monde hispanique actuel dans les médias
La bande dessinée
L’objectif de cette journée d’étude est de mettre en relief et d’expliquer –dans la mesure du possible– la fabrique et la diffusion d’images, de récits et autres références au monde hispanique actuel, parfois proches du cliché ou de la caricature. En cela, et même si elle sera consacrée à un médium spécifique, la journée d’étude appelle les contributions de spécialistes de différents champs disciplinaires (littérature, sociologie, histoire, histoire de l’art, etc.). Les communicants pourront s’intéresser aux BD produites en Espagne ou en Amérique latine, mais nous attendons également des travaux étudiant les représentations des communautés hispaniques sous d’autres latitudes. Par ailleurs, ces représentations peuvent avoir trait tant aux problématiques de la société contemporaine qu’aux communautés ou aux mondes professionnels auxquels appartiennent les protagonistes fictionnels.

Development archives: production, use and politicization

The first aim of this Special Issue is methodological: the renewed interest in development archives raises questions, particularly among young researchers, about how to identify, collect, and use them, and about their limits. The special issue will thus offer a set of methodological reference points to anyone wishing to use such archives. The second aim will be to lay the foundations for a more ambitious project to study development archives from a perspective at the crossroads of “connected history” and “global historical sociology”.

At RITA, although we don’t claim to have athletic bodies, we humbly hope that our journal does lead to the path of wisdom. As Paris will host the Olympic Games in 2024, we thought it relevant to invite researchers to show wisdom and gain some critical distance to question the role and function of sports in the Americas, from North to South.

Romance Languages in Medieval Latin Documentation
Following recent discussions on the presence of Romance elements in medieval Latin documents, we propose this meeting, which aims at offering a new opportunity to reflect on all forms of manifestation of Romance languages in the mentioned texts, as well as to present the latest scientific advances made in their study in the wider European context. Thus, issues related to how, both morphologically and syntactically, the diplomas show the transition from Latin to Romance languages, the mechanisms for Latinizing Romance elements, or the presence of borrowings from other languages that were assumed by Romance languages, may be subject to analysis. Similarly, contributions will be welcome regarding the role that medieval Latin lexicography plays in relation to Romance language and how dictionaries and lexical databases contribute to their study.

Neoliberalization of education and the making of territories
The theme of this issue pursues questions that the journal Espaces et Sociétés has previously raised about the relationship between educational and territorial dynamics. Its originality will therefore consist in documenting the way in which neoliberal dynamics, which run through the education sector from primary to higher education, are contributing to the creation of contemporary spaces, both in peripheral areas and in central urban ones – as well as in spaces created specifically for education, such as campuses or emerging educational hubs, for example in Asia and the Middle East. It will also look at how educational models are internationalized and circulate in this process, between primary, secondary and higher education, between public and private, between North and South, without presupposing that this circulation is unidirectional.

The public use of subordinate writings in the early modern and modern periods
We invite contributions dedicated to the dynamics of the re-signification of subaltern writings in public space in the early modern and modern period. Ordinary writings produced by subaltern actors (popular classes, men and women, childhood) in the transition from the private to the public sphere should therefore be investigated with particular attention to the spaces used, the practices adopted, the strategies of visibility (or obscuration) chosen, the appropriations by civil society, the policies of preservation of popular memory and the pedagogical- didactic use of writings.

Genre(s), identité(s) et espace(s) dans l’Espagne du XXe et XXIe siècles
Ce colloque a pour objectif d’étoffer les connaissances autour du rapport historique entre espace et genre dans l’Espagne du XXe et du XXIe siècles en s’appuyant sur les résultats de différentes études traitant ce sujet. Il serait intéressant d’explorer la construction historique des identités de genre. L’éclosion des identités au regard de cette perspective et le genre considéré comme la catégorie qui examine la manière dont se (re)produisent les significations attribuées au sexe et à la différence sexuelle, seront des éléments à aborder. La seconde perspective invite à s’interroger sur la place de cette séquence identitaire dans l’espace.
